Nyx (with a sly grin, brushing off imaginary dust): “Well, fate’s got a sense of humor, doesn’t it? Just when I thought I’d made my grand exit, here I am—back on the roster and ready for another dance. Nyx Darkglint at your service, once again. If the desert’s calling, who am I to refuse a challenge? Let’s see what secrets those sands are hiding.”
Nyx (grinning with a glint of mischief): “Well... Before we chase shadows in the desert sun, what should we be stocking up on? Besides water, sand-proof boots, and maybe a bit of luck, of course.”
Name: Raku Species: Human Class: Wizard Motto: Death for death and life for life
Raku grew up in a pretty well off, middle-class family. He has had a fascination for the weave and arcane magic since he was a child, and made sure to learn as many spells as he physically could the moment he could understand those arcane tomes. He grew up valuing life, but not valuing the life of those who throw theirs away, or threaten him or those he cares about.
The bell above the Guild door jingles again. A pale young man approaches the desk, his gait unsteady, eyes shadowed by sleepless nights and worse decisions.
“Any job’ll do,” he mutters, voice low and dry. He glances around.
“Name’s Poe,” he adds, barely above a whisper. His breath reeks of alcohol and and a night spent on a tavern bench.
Name: Poe Species: Human Class: Wizard Motto: "The unknown? It mostly stares back."
Brief Backstory: Her Father was a bard who would perform regularly in the local tavern! She fell in love with performing when she saw her father perform and immediately started training under her father, and quickly surpassed him in the musical department, but still has work to do on the magic department (level1, obviously). Once she was of age and her father retired, she decided to adventure for a Living like her father did, hence, coming to this guild. Her heart however is always as a performer!
Anyone who is local to the town that this guild is located at would've seen her perform at any local taverns before and would recognize her.
The scribe of the guild welcomes the two wizards in. Noting their tools of the trade, she comments: "Ah, it's good to finally have some members who understand the value of a book!" She then adds their names to the registry: Raku, Poe.
"Most of the guild is out on quests, so please wait comfortably until they return, or more members sign on."
Speaking of which, right as she has said this, a short scaly figure in performer's garb enters:
"Oh, welcome! I think I've seen you playing at the tavern?" She writes Zik in the registry as well. "Feel free to make yourself at home!"
Why, thank you! I have performed there! I heard you mention that you were awaiting for more members to come in before you're ready to assign adventures to new groups? Here, allow me to offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere for you and your guests. (She grabs her Lute from off of her back and begins to lightly strum it, humming a melody along with it for some nice comforting music to play while she awaits her adventure, Using Prestidigitation to add subtle effects to her little performance, adding a light mood to the room).
Poe gives a small nod to the guild scribe and the other adventurers in the room. While he waits, his eyes drift to the job board.
“Troubled Waters...” he murmurs. “Interesting.”
He casts a sideways glance at the others waiting nearby—"Two wizards and a bard" he counts including himself. Could use a bit more muscle, though, he thinks.
Then he hears a voice. Familiar. He finally recognizes the bard, not by her face, but by her voice. He must’ve heard her in some tavern.
Poe sinks his face into the collar of his robe, hoping she doesn’t recognize him. If she does, she probably remembers him vomiting in a corner somewhere.
"Every group can use a master tracker; there's always things on quests that need to be tracked. Welcome!" The scribe adds Tornir to the list of members.
Name:Tornir Species: Human Class: Ranger Motto: The secrets of the wild are mine to protect.
Zik nods at the ranger as (he/she/they?) walk in, still humming her tune while strumming her lute. She awaits for the guild scribe to say that there's enough people to form a group so that way they can start choosing an adventure.
Poe strolls over to the other adventurers, trying (and failing) to look casual. His stomach growls loudly, cutting through the silence. He clears his throat, pretending not to notice.
“Hey,” he says, voice a little too flat to sound confident. “How’s it going?”
He glances at the job board, then back at them.
“Looks like we’re all here for the same reason. One of these jobs catch your eye?”
A pause. “Name’s Poe, by the way.”
He tries to smile.
“I can do some magic tricks,” he adds, tugging at his sleeve. “But… don’t count on me to talk to people.”
Bethany looks around, trying to see if there are any groups forming in need of muscle. If not, she starts trying to gather any other stragglers for their own quest, maybe the journalist?

Greeting's Poe, and everyone here, I'm Zik. Singer, performer, and Bardic Adventurer! Let's see... hmm... I personally would chose Curtain Call, but I know that I'm biased in picking that one. I can tell that with some of these others, there are people truly in need. Oh! And for the record, Poe, I'm great at talking to people, I can definitely handle that part of you need!
(She looks around at the adventurers around her) Hmm... according to the way this place seems to work, only four of us can go on a job at once and there's... five of us here... Well, one of us is going to have to stay behind and wait for even more people...
"Welcome; I don't think we offer any 'evil' jobs, though of course one's opinion may differ on such matters; you are welcome to avoid any quest that might go against your moral compass. Welcome again!" With the scribe's greeting, Bethany has joined the guild.

"The hostage job sounds the most appealing. But anything where I can be in the wild is better than city life."
Bethany, Human Fighter.
I'm here to get paid for jobs that aren't evil, and I'd really leave my cooking for those who have earned it.
