Bao walks over to the job board where Lucky,... King is.
He examines each one intently. "These", implying ALL, "will do nicely. What about the others." Stopping for a moment. "Oh, I'm so sorry. This is for a group or 'party'. That will be fun too."
He looks about and asks to those present. "Hey." He says in his outside voice. "Anybody want to join in a party and do these jobs? They look like fun."
A Gnome that looks like he has been walking the wilderness for years stands near the board. His face seems half excited and half mortified. Scratching his brown hair.
“Hello, my name is Erdri. Nice to meet all of you. It seems this place is getting quite lively. I am happy to join any group that needs help tracking."
Julienne turns to Rook "What an egg-cellent idea! I got just the thing." Shimmying off her backpack, Julienne gathers some flatbreads, dried meats, cheese, and other ingredients. Using a knife to slice the bread in halves, she puts everything inside the half-circular pockets and adds some red jelly-like substance to it.
"Here ya go! Loaded flatbreads with some homemade away-from-home tomato marmelade." She presents them to Rook before turning to the rest. "Anyone else? Hey, you seem like you could use a nice meal, kid." she smiles at Fran, offering her one of the flatbreads.
"A fey giving a name so easily? Must not be your True Name, unless you're very careless..." The scribe adds Nyx Darkglint (if that is your real name) to the book of members.
The scribe nods understandingly. "I totally get where you're coming from, I don't go by the name my parents gave me either... They chose an embarrassing one."
Oh, where did I put my manners. I must find them for I have introduced myself without so much as asking for your name. So, without further ado, may I have your name? I am most curious about how embarrassing one could be.
Nyx also eyes the rest of the crowd, trying to decide who everyone else is and what adventure to go on. He is interested in the water beast and tries to overhear if anyone else is talking about it as well.
Bao will take the "Wave of Destruction" along with the others over to the scribe and say "We would like to take this one." He hands over the flyer for Wave of Destruction.
Nyx gives the Scribe a smirk back and says, "Can't blame us for tryin'" and then giggles a lil as he wonders off towards those he heard were gathering for the Wave of Destruction quest.
The scribe nods to Bao, who has just handed her the job posting for a mission. She writes in the Journal of Questing:
Wave of Destruction (Quest, Rank 1) "The placid waters near a fishing village have been invaded by a huge, aquatic beast. The creature is destroying the ecosystem, attacking villagers, and blocking passage to an island full of healing herbs." Participants:Dain, Julienne, Nyx, Bao
The scribe then hands the four brave adventurers a set of directions to the fishing village. They are instructed that their contact will be the village's protector, a half-elf named Pag.
Fran joins those signing up for the Wave of Destruction. There is a trickle of saliva escaping her mouth as the young cat girl thinks of fresh seafood.
"Sorry little one, I'm afraid that that fishing boat's sailed," the scribe tells Fran. It's never easy for her, letting people down. She tries to offer an alternative. "You could join with the 'Flower Power' group forming, or maybe see about forming your own group if that doesn't appeal?"
The scribe suddenly blinks a few times, before speaking to Fran again. "Maybe it's possible after all. I just heard some Fey Whispers in my head; it seems Nyx's 'otherworldly patron', in a bout of whimsy, would like to send him on the Flower Power now instead. Would you be okay trading places with him, appearing where he now is at the fishing village?"
Fran, if you are ready to go, hold your magic blade aloft to start the transfer!
With enough participants seemingly lined up for the guild's second mission, the scribe writes...
Flower Power (Quest, Rank 1) "In a secret oasis, there lies a rare cactus that blooms under the light of a special full moon just once a year. The party is recruited to pluck a single petal of this magical flower..." Participants: Erdri, Lucky Jackson, (Fran or Nyx?), "Rook"
