The old man watches as the little bugger starts to head in, beckoning the group to follow. For the moment he stands firm, unsure what else was said. To Dawn and Surina (but not quiet either), “You had mentioned needing to fight them all, what are we doing? Do you trust this one?”
Surina tooks to their newest companion and says in a low voice. "He is taking us to the boy, but he still wants to sacrifice someone to Smokulon. Once the boy is secure, we may have to fight the kobolds."
Dawn nods, "At least this way the boy won't be sacrificed while we're fighting to reach him. In any event, I don't think we want that ritual to be completed."
The kobolds flinch as Surina raises her voice at them.

"We meant no disrespect!" one stammers.
"Yes, of course! The boy is yours!"
One kobold remains at the entrance, while the other gestures for the party to follow as it heads inside the cave.
"Come, come." it mutters nervously as it walks ahead, occasionally glancing back over its shoulder.

"But... who's taking the boy's place for the sacrifice? Smokulon the Great and Terrible must have his offering tonight..."
