"Oh yes the nephews! Well Molly and i split about a year ago so i haven't seem in all that long to be honest. But anyway how is it going with......."As they turn the corner and notice Archy and Darnic, Yrwin loses his train of thought. "Aaaah, Archy, long time no see!"Yrwin takes Willie's arm and tugs Archy's duster coat while they're all talking. "Come on, come on! Let's not stand out here speaking in the gosh darn rain! Free drinks and snacks at my place!."He bumps into Darnics arm as he drags his cousins along. "You are absolutely welcome too, stranger. A friend of Archy is a friend of mine! I don't bear this mark for nothing!"You might notice the house Ghallanda dragonmark under the rolled up sleeves at Yrwins left upper arm.
You walk together down the street. For the time being, it seems like it's just you four out. It's late enough that most people in the Upper City are beginning their bedtime rituals or out drinking in fancy taverns.
The rain continues to pour overhead, leaving you soaked. Willie and Yrwin know the best route home is over a skybridge, down another road, and soon you'll find skycoaches that can take you anywhere in the city you need to be for several sovereigns.
/--- This next bit is only for anyone who rolled a Perception of 15 or better. If you haven't rolled Perception, you may do so now.---/
You spot a figure in a dark cloak moving quietly through the rain on the skybridge ahead. It seems to be avoiding the dim pools of light cast by the everbright lanterns, preferring to stay to the shadows. Lightning flashes and you see a shape on the stone floor of the bridge in the brief illumination. The figure quickly reaches the railing of the skybridge, then slips over the barrier and disappears into the darkness and the rain.

Archy fingers a little pouch on his belt where he's able to keep his now strings dry. It'd probsbly be useless to string his bow in this weather, but he could have it out in a flash if it came to it.
He pulls back his coat, revealing the pommel of his dueling sword. He rests his hand there on the handle, ready for trouble. He didn't really want to fill anyone with holes tonight, but he'd rather that than have new holes added to himself.
He was in capable company tonight though, even young Willie had manifested a mark and was showing some talent he'd heard.
"Oh? Where?"Yrwin looks into the darkness ahead, looking for whatever Darnic warned him about.
Perception: 17
"Theres someone on the ground!" Yrwin jogs over towards the figure on the stone bridge. He stops a foot or two in front of the figure, knowing that people try to pull all sorts of tricks on unaware strollers in the night.
Yrwin indeed spies a body. He stands on the skybridge between two different towers—Dalannan Tower and the Kelsa Spire. The body lies on the floor of the bridge, and you can see a mixture of rain and blood pooling around it. A leather satchel, still clutched tightly in the body’s hand, lies in the expanding puddle of water and gore.
From where Yrwin and Willie stand, they can see that an elderly, human man lies sprawled out on the ground. He seems to be wearing a posh raincoat and just inches from his face, they see his spectacles cracked on the ground.
Whoever this is, they don't seem to be moving. They are perfectly still.

Willie tries to consider what may have happened here. Could there be a reason for an elderly man to be found dead in the rain like this? Wilhelmina makes an Investigation check! 1d20 (18) + 0 = 18
Archy grimaces. "Posh fellow. He'd probably heard if left the skyways and came down looking for me. He shoulda known to keep his wealth hidden down here... A poor thief can't lift the purse off a dead man though?" He looks around to see if anyone else is around before picking up the fellow's leather pouch and examining its contents.
Yrwin grows pale and shivers. "Oh gods, he's dead.. He's dead right? Dead, dead????? Gods.... I haven't seen a corpse since they brought back people from the war... Ohh. what do we do, WHAT DO WE DO??!"Yrwin fishes out a honey and nut candy bar from his pocket and puts half of it in his mouth. He almost chokes on it as he forces the rest of the bar into his mouth, a nervous glance towards Willie shows that he handles stress like this.. poorly.
Darnic's check reveals that the man was stabbed quickly, precisely through the heart. The puncture, he may morbidly think, is practically perfect if one seeks an instant death.
Willie, knowing that most folks don't leave home without their ID, checks the man's coat and finds a such a document. Knowing Sivis typically issues IDs that can't be tarnished by the elements, she checks and finds that the victim's name is Bonal Geldem. He appears to be a provost at the School of Pre-Galifar Studies at Morgrave University according to the details on the card. This individual doesn't seem the type to muck about with fake papers.
Archy paws through the satchel, which upon closer inspection is well made and stylish, contains quills and inks, papers, a wrapped apple, and a book of some sort. He might be worried that looking through the documents thoroughly here will smudge whatever information might be printed on the sheets.
Everyone hears a splash behind them. Jumpy, you all look over your shoulders or turn around completely to see a cloaked figure pointing something at Archy. Darnic hears the distinct click of a hand crossbow as a bolt flies through the rain toward Archy!

Archy moves to pass the apple to Yrwin when he's interrupted in the most rude way imaginable. "Now that was uncalled for!" He hisses as his sword is drawn. He rushes the man without hesitation taking up position immediately south of him. He stabs with his sword, hitting 6 for 11 piercing, as he picks up a Second Wind pushing through the pain, recovering 2 hit points.
"Murderers man, I tell you. They have no respect for a nice coat!" He says fingering the whole in his garment.

Darnic sprints toward the assassin, hunter’s instinct taking over, and through his layers, pulls his scimitar out. As he retrieves his blade, he very visibly winces, almost as if he’s resisting the urge to grab his arm in pain (Activating Crimson Rite: Lightning, -1 Max Hp). However, despite this, his blade crackles through the air with arcane electricity. He bellows, “Freeze, murderer!”As he slams the blade into the assassin’s chest as he casts Booming Blade, Attack: 9 Damage: 10 slashing + 1 lightning damage. As he strikes, the lightning arcs around the body of the assassin, forming chains. If the creature moves, it takes 6 thunder damage.
