Archy sighs. "I'll do it." He groans, "I thought you Therashk boys were supposed to be invincible or something." Ready to Dodge, Archy checks the Triangle, slots in the square, then the hex. "You don't look so hot. Maybe you should use one of the potions." He says to Darnic.

With the final deposit, nothing happens for a moment, though you sigh with relief as it seems nothing shocking will happen to you this time. However, before disappointment can wash over you, the depressions each glow with a faint blue color that surges throughout the forge in different lines and geometric shapes. Rumbling shakes your boots as the forge collapses in on itself until its no longer recognizable as anything but a vault door. It is quite alien, but as the forge changed shape the Cannith insignia from the old days is present at the center of the door. Its blue light pulsates as if welcoming a final piece of the puzzle. 

Darnic whistles, “Well, I think we found our next step on this little venture. Also, thanks Arch, observant as always. If you want to pass me one of those, I’ll take it.”

Archy leaps to the side among the ruble, but after a few moments with no sign of eminent destruction he approaches the vault and tries the insignia on the book.

"Authentification accepted. Welcome, Master Ruilane d'Cannith," a mysterious voice acknowledges you all just like it had at the door when Darnic worked his password resetting magic. The door retracts into the walls around it and opens up to let you inside. Within you find incredibly dusty shelves, floors, and walls! Even the cobwebs inside are covered in dust. The space within is small, but it makes it a lot easier for you to sort through the loot!

4x gold ingots

3x Potion of Greater Healing (4d4 + 4)

1x Scroll of Mage Armor

 "Hahah!" Archy moves in to scoop up all the goods, but then he hesitates. he feels like he just stepped into the jaws of a Hunting Trap... "Shh!" He hisses as if He werent the one making noise. "Listen." He looks Through the room again. Holding the lantern up. "Where's the artifact?" (Perception: 5)

Willie is also wary. She tries to see if there's anything more to this strange "authentication" process than meets the eye.

Willie spies with her perfectly-sized eye that one of the geometric shapes below the Cannith insignia is star-shaped, which sounds very familiar. The star has inlaid designs and the works! With a gentle push of her hand, the star pops out!

Yrwin pockets a gold ingot. The weight of the precious metal is enough to make his rather loose pants sag on one side. "Ooooh, I can finally open my dream foodcart with this money! Willie, Archy, Darnic, you will get a special lifetime discount!" He smiles from ear to ear seemingly forgetting about the entire mission and the artifact.

 "Alright" Archy say, "We found what we came for, right? Let's grab what we can and get outta here." He takes as much as he can carry and points toward the nearest tunnel exiting the tower.

Darnic will do the same, albeit much more carefully. This all seems a bit too easy. “Much appreciated, Yrwin. I’m sure you make nothing but the finest.”

"Hope you like things that are boiled in its own fat." Yrwin winks at Darnic and pats his belly before heading towards the exit. 

Willie looks carefully at the star shaped carving, and rolls it around in her hand. She aids the others is securing the coins and other items, nodding and smiling at Yrwin's dreams of food. She  seems to be a bit distant as she ponders what this means.

As you emerge from the foundry, a flaming crossbow bolt streaks from the rubble surrounding the largest stone column. It zooms toward Archy, who for a moment sees his life flash before his life before feeling the heat rush by his face rather than through it.

"Weak flesh!" a powerful voice calls out from behind the rubble. "You face Saber, the greatest of the devoted. Throw down the schema and walk away. This day does not have to end with your blood on my hands."

Archy raises his hands up and tosses his satchel off to the side with a tremdous clatter of its contents within. "I didnt want the thing anyway." (Deception: 5). Of course, the schema isn't in Archy's pack, while everything but the kitchen sink is, this guy'll be digging through there for half an hour before he realizes... Likely less, if he gets interrupted.

Archy keeps glancing nervously at the satchel.

Darnic, picking up what he’s throwing down, stays silent with his poor CHA...

Willie moves up, her hands in the air. "Please come out! Let us negotiate like civilized individuals. We've shown good faith."

As an answer, a crossbow bolt flies at Archy again. Seems like we can't have nice things.

Darnic knows the shot came from that rubble that was obscuring the path north. Its adjacent to the sanctuary the gang rested in earlier.
