Damien flashes a lopsided grin. "I had special access to the lower floors before it got revoked. Most people that are actually part of the Corps have access to levels one through two but the older and more valuable stuff that can't be replaced or easily copied without problems are locked behind level three to five in order of either more classified or dangerous stuff at five to things like irreplaceable books that physically can't be copied or have knowledge that is much more valuable at level three. If you wander down there typically the robot is the one who deals with proper maintenance and procedure but it shouldn't attack you if you cooperate and go back to the higher levels. It only checks people upon exiting the levels though after that checkout's pretty simple. Though it's pretty old and faulty so if you exit before it notices your trespassing it might not recognize you've been to the level and won't check you, happened once before but luckily Luthe caught on and stopped the person from escaping with one of the ancient tomes of Scalzar. Could've been a disaster if the tome possessed yet another person, before being locked away, the last person, a simple commoner managed to burn half of the great woods down before being stopped." (you might've heard the name Scalzar so if you want to you can roll history)

"I have advantage on dex saving throws what could go wrong?"
Bjorn stares beyond Damian, but with his helmet it could be seen as him staring right at the man. The metaphorical cogs in his head begin turning, attempting to remember that name. (History check: 15, rolled in game log)
Bjorn you seem to recall a Sorcerer that made a deal with two gods residing in a lake of fire who gained great power but in return handed over his humanity to host part of the gods power. He was transformed into a monster born of fire and greed if you remember correctly you believe it was the story of the first ever salamander, Scalzar. You remember the myth that he possessed control over fire so great that upon reaching the surface world he picked a fight with a leviathan and won and even bent a primordial fire elemental to his will and embeded his power into a tome so he would remain alive even in death. That's all you can remember though.

"I have advantage on dex saving throws what could go wrong?"
Jasmine is intrigued by the library. She asks, "I am somewhat of a researcher myself and in this line of work information would always be helpful, do you happen to know how one might go about getting permission to access lower floors if and when it becomes necessary?"
"I'm not sure I understand your response, Damien. Are you saying we should take the book and try to circumvent the monitoring?" Dasolis asks Damien. "Because your story seems to be speak to why we shouldn't do that."
(My post didn't go through again. This is getting annoying.)
Damien replies, apologizing for insinuating such a thing would be necessary. "Apologies, I would never insinuate that you should put your necks out onto the chopping block for my problems. If you want you can ask the head librarian for a special permission for one time access to level three. If she isn't entirely cooperative then tell her one of the officers sent you. Here's the stamp if she questions things. That should be enough for you to gain access to the third level, don't push your luck with asking for any further favors or access.
"I'm pretty sure I made a deal that should be satisfactory for us both. You get access to the third level at least in section 2 of it because you won't get full access, sorry about that. And in return you fetch me the book I asked for. Plus I can put a word of favor for you to command. And maybe give you some tips on certain layers or mechanics if you need some help in advance. Sound good?"
Dasolis pauses to consider what Damien has said. "Alright, I'll see what I can do." She isn't quite sure it's the best idea. But she is curious to see what might be found with third level access. "The book is The Second Great Tectonic Collapse by Sachur? And it will be Section 2 of the Third Level?"
"Correct. I believe there's also most of Briarglade's works down there, save the one book that actually contains cursed knowledge. That one got bumped up to level 5 and no one's supposed to even touch it. He had found it in a layer that we still haven't managed to document, or at least bring people back from it." Damien's face sours slightly. "It was just before he disappeared, he had just laid it in it's place and then afterwards, he had vanished without a trace or struggle. It's a shame because it would've been amazing to meet him. He was given the highest honor a researcher could get for just about every field known to man and all other species, he was even responsible for the building of Tapizae's grand library. I'm sorry for your loss Noelle, he was a great man."
