For a brief second, Skeer drops his guard at the sound of Vadania's menacing growl, before quickly regaining his composure and focusing his attention on Olgha. "And I do not make threats with no intention of following through. Thelounge owner's life, or the boy's. Your choice." Garil is suddenly roused from his slumber at the sound of all the arguing, and peeks his head over the side of the cart to see the source of all the commotion. "Ah, there's the little bastard. Tell me Garil, do you know what part you play in all of this? Do you know who you really are? Or are you just as unaware as these imbeciles?"
Vannithos shifts his gaze from Skeer to Garil as the man rants at him, wondering if the creature is just sprouting nonsense or if the boy indeed has a greater role than they realize.
Insight on Garil to gauge his reaction to Skeer's words: 18
Vadania is quite protective of children... especially those who lost their father figure to foul curses that neither the child nor the father had any say in. She tries to usher Garil to keep his head down and stay protected under the cover of the caravan. She agrees with Vannithos, "Agreed. This business is between us and you, keep the child out of it!"
((On one hand, I don't want a TPK because I like playing Vadania. On the other hand, this man definitely needs his face rearranged. Maybe DM will be merciful?))
(This is probably a bad situation, but I’d rather go down swinging against evil than perpetrate it)
Vorin steps between Skeer and the path to the wagon Garil is in, one hand resting on a sword handle. “That is a third option, isn’t it?” He says darkly.
[OOC: Yeah, it feels like picking a fight here is a one-way ticket to TPK-ville...plus, if we all get wiped, Garil is definitely toast. Should we play along for now, keep our heads down, get into Zorre, and actually find out what’s really going on? We gather info, regroup, and if/when we’re stronger (or have more leverage), we come back and wipe the floor with Skeer’s smug face. I suggest we “reluctantly agree” for now and make our own plans. Thoughts? But, I'm also the one who said to bash him in...so I'm also down with what Hflex said.]

((That might be a smart move. We'll see how Skeer reacts to the above in-character threats and go from there. On one hand, I don't think Skeer is lying about the vampire in Zorre (due to results of a Insight check) but at the other hand, this dude is shady as **** and not very nice either.))
((We have no real way to gauge how strong Skeer is so far. Without punching him, I mean lol. But yeah, maybe he'll give us an idea now that we've threatened him.))
(I don’t buy the dude he’s sending us after is a vampire. Why send a vampire spawn to kill a vampire? I think we wait for a reaction to the threats and decide from there. It could be a ticket to TPK-ville, or he could just be an intimidating dude who’s not *that* dangerous. I’m willing to gamble that the campaign’s not built to end if we disagree on the very first decision point.)
"Keep the child out of it you ask? My dear, the child has been in it since the day he was born. And you dare threaten me with your meager weapons? I would rip you limb from limb, TEAR you off the face of this planet." Skeer slowly approaches the cart brandishing flame jumping out from the both of his hands.
Olgha stands her ground as Skeer’s flames dance closer, the wagon’s wood creaking in the unnatural heat. But even as rage coils inside her, she clamps down on it...ice over fire. Her hand tightens on her blade, but she does not draw She fixes Skeer with a stare that promises future reckoning, not present defiance.“You want us broken and afraid. You’ll get neither. You want obedience? Fine. We’ll play your game...for now.” She moves back, shielding Garil with her body, every muscle tense but controlled.”
[OOC: If anyone wants to make another move, I'm down.]
Vannithos' eyes narrow slightly as Skeer seems to turn hostile. Fear is alien to him, not to mention he is curious as to what the man actually is. Combat is the most straightforward way of finding out.
Initiative: 12
((This is why shadar-kai tend to die younger than other elves, isn't it? -.-;;))
A crooked grin spreads across Olgha’s face. “You fools... I love it.” She slides off the cart, quickly pulling a cover over Garil’s head. “Stay low, kid,” she mutters.
Steel flashes in her hand as she draws her weapon and faces Skeer, eyes alight with dangerous excitement.

The shadar-kai shifts his attention back to Skeer, satisfied that Garil appears to have no idea what he is talking about.
"You are overlooking a third option," Vannithos points out as he finally stands, calm as ever, "We can remove you."

[OOC: Olgha is urged to bash this guy's face in, but I am afraid of a TPK :))...what do you guys think?]
((Vadania also wants to bash this guy's face in))
((Vannithos is on board with bashing his face in lol.))
[OOC: This is totally a TPK coming but perhaps these characters arcs are for a good time, not a long one!]

((Alright... bashing it is then))
Seeing the hostile movement of Skeer, Vadania quickly draws her axe, ready for a fight.
