Engelheart expects to find the lord of the manor on the upper floors, and if this is a stealth mission the idea is to get in and out quickly instead of investing each room. But he isn't sure they are treating in as such anymore, and Engelheart isn't a fan of fighting his way out with no place to retreat too which could happen if they sneak in and then make a disturbance.
"I'd assume upstairs as well, but we should be cautious of attacks from behind. If we guess the wrong door upstairs an make a commotion, there's no telling how we could get boxed in. Best to confirm at least one safe zone down here, I think," Vorin reasons.
He tentatively approaches the second door on the left, but will not open it unless the group is following, and is prepared to go back if they head for the staircase.

The plaques each have a name and a range of years, the very first plaque dating over a thousand years back. Each name belongs to the same family, the von Nichts. At the very end of the line is a plaque labeled "Holstein von Nichts," and the starting year is about 200 years ago.
Down the right hallway, Vannithos can hear sounds of dinnerware clanking together in the hallway on the right from the room on the left.
Vorin opens the door, revealing a small storage closet with some cleaning supplies.
Vannithos gives a slight frown in the direction of the left door in the right hallway. "It sounds like someone is dining," he remarks, letting the others finish their own observations before approaching and cautiously opening the door.

Engelheart looks sadly at the boy. It appeared to Engelheart that Lohse presence didn't cause to much distress based on the condition of the room they were in and now hearing a vampire dinner event, Engelheart feared what, or who, was on the menu. "Perhaps we should have a plan before running in there, perhaps a trap for them to come out into. Maybe bait for them to chase out a funneled exit?"
Vadania offers, "If you need someone to be bait, I can do that." She looks up for a bit and then says, "If the master of the house is upstairs, perhaps we can go to him directly but he may be powerful. The plaque reads he has been alive for over 200 years."
