Thrash, OTC and Rajiira are down with the flameskull. Tisnip, Allustine and Tyriok are still up top. The ball of fire is gone, and the flameskull has blurred itself. Remember that i mentioned that you can drop down the hole, but you currently have no way to get back up.
The Firebolt slams into the creature, but its able to hold on to its spell and seems to be still alive although it is floating at an odd angle and its flames are flickering.

The tiefling does the only thing he can - he starts hurling insults at the flaming skull.
(Editor's note - if you were all sailors, then perhaps I could share with you a portion of the expletive-laced, cutting jibes that came effortlessly from the tiefling's mouth. But alas, the censor-spells of this site will prevent my repeating it. Suffice it to say that even a flaming skull would be impacted by the psychic assault!)
Vicious Mockery: DC13 Wisdom saving throw or take 1 psychic damage and have disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn.

Allustiine Murrdersssss that flameskull with his words, and it falls down dead, its flames flickering out until they are completely gone. Thrash, Rajiira and OTC are down in the lower room. (Oh no, OTC removed her character before i could download it!) And Tisnip, Allustine and Tyriok are still up top.
The upper room is mostly featureless, except for the large gaping hole leading to the floor below. There are large double doors made of amber to the north, and a single wooden door just south of the door you all came through.
Those of you down below are now in the dark, but if you have a torch, or darkvision, or blindsight, you can see that this room has walls of glazed amber, and a floor of red marble. There are three amber sarcophagi standing in alcoves.
Tisnip will see Thrash start to wander off and she'll huff and call down to him. "How about you wait until we're down there before getting into more trouble! I'd rather hit things with my hammer rather than cast spells right now."
To the others with her she'll turn and frown. "We still have rope, yes? Is there anywhere we can tie it to to get down and join them? And possibly get back up if something else strange and terrible tries to kill us?"

Thrash will light a torch and move towards the sarcophagi to investigate them!
