(Quick question: Are there hinges on these doors that would indicate if it opens into the room we're in or out into whatever room is on the other side? Because I'd like to strength check it but I don't want to push on a pull door, y'know? lol If it opens into our room I'll figure out some way to yank on it.)
(We did try to crowbar it open...that didn't work. The creatures on the other side said they tried magic. I gathered this room had the stuff to be protected or feared...but I missed the single door. Guess it's time to check the other two coffins!)
"Damn." the bard mutters. If they can find no mechanism to open the door, they had only two options. Climb up and check out the rest of the structure, or check out the other two sarcophagi. Alustine will wait for the others to complete their investigations - some of them were surprisingly good at finding things he had overlooked.
If no one else finds a way to open the door, he will check the sarcophagus farthest away from the one Thrash had checked...

"Rrrraaggghhhh" The obsidian lizardfolk will say baring his teeth in frustration. before looking at the small dent in the door he made with his sword earlier. "I am going through that door one way or the other" Trash will say through gritted teeth before pulling out his magical longsword and wielding it in both hands before going to town on the door, attacking it repeatedly and violently.
Tisnip - it looks like the door is meant to swing inwards and we'll say thats what the boys were trying to do. I never be such a piece of shit that id say you couldn't open a door cause you were pushing on a pull, lol. That would be so mean.
Allustine - you take a few steps back towards one of the sarcophagi, just to give yoursefl some options while you all figure out what to do
Thrash starts to hammer on the door with his longsword, it starts to crack a bit, small pieces crumbling onto the ground. Around smash #6, a huge crack forms, running up the length of the door, and the whole thing crumbles as it explodes, the shards of amber turning to a black necrotic energy as a wave spreads both into the room and outwards towards the voices. You all take 7 necrotic dmg.
**Thrash you can take half if you were raging there.**
Thrash, standing closest to the blast is knocked backwards with clumps of amber sticking out of this chest and face before slowly turning black causing sickly dark veins to appear around the wounds. "Doors... open... you're.. welcome" the lizardfolk will say through gritted teeth, looking to his companions from the ground.
I wasn't... because I used all my rages... because I used one when we were fighting the wild people.. .which we stopped right away so it was kind of wasted... and then I used another one against the flame skull.. which I turned off because RP so I kind of wasted that one too... so they are gone :(
**okay well instead of Trash dying, this happens**
Thrash is blown back by the blast, and lands hard on the ground, Doors... open... you're.. welcome" and then you all hear a voice from nowhere whisper, "Useee my giffttt." and a strange yellow glow appears around Thrash and heals him back to 1HP
**you have been Raised from the dead as you were dying, cause that would have killed you dead. you have −4 penalty to all attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks. losing 1 point of penalty every long rest.**
When Thrash sits back up he has a large long scar on his shoulder that wasn't there before.

Tisnip will take in a ragged gasp as the doors crack and that putrid energy washes over her and her companions--taking two of them down and beyond her reach of healing before she can even think. She'll slap a Cure Wounds on herself as she feels her vision start to spin and grey.
That unknown voice will catch her attention and she'll look over just in time to see Thrash surrounded by a sickly yellow glow that she knows is from no healing spell she's ever heard of. Standing in the middle of the room surrounded by her companions, either barely hanging onto life or obliterated before her eyes, she feels a rage of her own boil up inside her and she stalks toward the lizardfolk with her warhammer raised. "What did you do?!"
2nd Level Cure Wounds: 17 (plus 8 because modifier and an extra 4 for being a life cleric, additional 2 + spell's level)
The black flash makes the tiefling stumble back a step as he can feel his very life-force being sucked out! Luckily, he is able to withstand the attack - and then he sees the two piles of ash.
He will look beyond the portal to see what waits on the other side before healing himself...if the others do not seem to pose an immediate threat, he will speak a couple of healing words (casting 2 spells at 1st level), and the life comes back into his face and eyes.
Thrash - yeah, you basically fully died and were brought back to life instantly, so it took a bit out of you.
With a bit of curing Tisnip and Allustine are feeling a bit better. Anyone that looks out past where the doorway is will see two old women laying prone on the ground as well as a similar pile of ash and bone as the ones left by your deceased companions, it looks like they suffered a loss as well.
Alustine realizes who the piles of bone and ash are, and examines what is left of the strange, blind woman and Tyriok. "It looks like whatever was protecting this room was more powerful than we bargained for! We lost two of our companions - and it looks like the ones on the other side of the door lost one as well. A terrible thing locked in these amber tombs. Maybe, Thrash, you shouldn't have touched them. Although, it seems that whatever it did to you before the doors exploded literally saved you from the same fate. So...what did happen when you touched the coffin - and what was that voice we heard when you were raised back?"

Tyriok and Only-the-cold are hit so hard that they turn to a pile of dust and bones.

(so will it take 4 long rests before I am back to normal?)

(So how are OTC and Rajiira feeling?)
**i think Rajiira is down to 1 hp, and OTC is a pile of bones**
