"We haven't seen it, but we can hear its terrible howls from the basement. Please, you have to hurry, the baby is still upstairs!" They both seem very worried
Wreckzors takes a spin around the house, there doesn't appear to be a back door and any windows are shut tight and locked.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
If there are no open doors or windows, Only-The-Cold will kick down the wall. Wait, wait, lets get our bearings here. So, a little to the left, 45 degree turn clockwise, perfect! She kicks down the door this time.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Only-The-Cold feels her way past the wrought iron gate, up the steps to the main entrance. The rest of you see her illuminated by oil lamps which hang from chains to either side of the front door. She feels for the door and gives it a hearty kick, sending it swinging into a small front foyer.
Thrash will round the corner just in time to see Only-The-Cold kick the front door open. He will then dash across the front of the building and try to slip past Only-The-Cold to get into the building. His heart pounding and ready for a fight after hearing about a beast inside and a defenseless baby upstairs, he stand inside the building and will make a quick look around to see if he can find any signs of the monster.
Perception check to find monster / signs / stairs? 20
Thrash you are standing in a foyer, hanging on the south wall of the foyer is a shield emblazoned with a red and gold coat-of-arms, flanked by framed portraits of stony-faced aristocrats. Mahogany-framed double doors leading from the foyer to the main hall are set with panes of stained glass. You can't hear any noises except those from outside.
Thrash will quickly toss his torch into an open fireplace (Assuming there is one, otherwise he will just extinguish it) and grab the shield off the wall and hold it in his left arm. He will draw his flail and begin quickly moving through the house, tail swinging frantically behind him as he starts checking doors to see if he can find any signs of a struggle ...or stairs leading to the basement or upstairs towards the baby.
Thrash will yell "Anyone home! Your children are standing outside and said that there is a monster in here! We are here to help!" after a moment he will yell out.. "I am not a monster, just so you know... so please don't be afraid of me!"
OOC: hey only-the-cold, are you a human or something else? I was just wondering. I know you are blind but just wanted to know for sure. Didn't know if you had any neat facial features or clothes or anything
Alustine goes in the building with Thrash, but stays in the foyer with Only-the-Cold. He examines the shield (until the lizard takes it!) and the portraits to see if he can get any clues about the history of this place - maybe he had heard of this place or this family in a song or tale?
History: 3
"That lizard is gonna get us all killed if he keeps charging off on his own. Or at least find every trap in our way..." the tiefling comments to the blind human.
OOC: In my mind I envisioned all the doors Thrash are checking are nearby and in sight of Only-the-cold and Alustine. if that is not the case we can remove the door checking but keep the yelling and shield taking. GOT TO SAVE THE BABY PEOPLE
Rajiira wanted to go inside as well, but realized if she did, she would be leaving the children alone. So she stayed, bow drawn and maintaining her own personal stealth (24). Closing her eyes, perking up her ears and carefully sniffing with her sensitive nose, she would use her natural ranger senses to once again scan the area, listening for any footsteps she did not recognize, a noise at the perimeter, a breath poorly concealed, making sure she was nut being snuck up on as well, and otherwise guarding what was apparently the only entrance to the place where the group had gone. ((Perception check: 20 ADV if undead))
"Shh shhh shh shh shh little ones. We will, if nothing else, do our best to protect you" (Persuasion: 19)
"Wait, wait, don't go too far!" Tisnip hisses and follows in after the others who have already gone inside. "Let me just..." She does a quick spell, casting Detect Evil and Good, then motions for the others to wait. "If there's a monster I can sense it, but it won't help if we go barreling in. It could kill the child before we even get there."
If she gets any pings within her 30 foot sphere she'll relay it to the others. If not, she'll start to move toward the stairs, maintaining concentration on the spell.
From the foyer you emerge into the main hall that runs the width of the house. Wreckzors tosses his torch into the black marble fireplace on one end of the room, while heading towards the red marble staircase that curves up the opposite wall. Mounted above the fireplace is a longsword with a windmill cameo worked in to the hilt. No noise besides the crackling fire can be heard from this room. There is also a closed door off to one side.
Allustine - none of the cost of arms or family photos are of anything familiar to you.
Rajiira - you pull the children over to the side of the house away from the middle of the street, and duck down in the shadows. The streets are quiet and the mist is thick. You can't hear or see anyone else nearby, and the children are calming down now that you're all here to help.
Only-The-Cold - Thrash is barreling his way around in front of you and you are unable to hear or feel anything besides the few of you and the crackling fire. Running your fingers along the wall you can feel the wood paneling is ornately carved with vines and flowers. The paneling continues up the staircase.
Tisnip - you reach out with your mind to sense the presence of evil but get a confusing results. There is definitely evil here but it seems to come from all around and you can't quite pinpoint the source
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rajiira wracks her mind, thinking *is it ok to leave them out here alone since there seems to be nothing nearby? perhaps I have something to hide them with?* still thinking, when an idea hits her.
She looks around for nearby bushes, brush, fallen branches that still have leaves, and otherwise Ghillie-like objects. ((Not sure what to roll so... Survival: 22, Investigation: 5, or Perception: 16))
If she successfully finds enough brush/shrubbery, she would then unroll her bedroll, and tuck the children into the corner of the house, having them lie-down as close to eachother as possible, then placing her bedroll over them to hide them from direct sight. Lastly, planting the shrub/brush etc in a way that would appear to be yardwork piled up and hiding them as much as possible, before holstering her bow, and drawing her Scimitar, and shield (+2 AC) entering the house in [Ability]Stealth[/Ability], and seeking the rest of the group, whoever she finds first. (Stealth: 9)
If she fails to find anything she can hide the children with, she will simply stay with them, and stand guard.
The children lay down on the bedroll and you make an attempt to hide them. You feel like any passersby would probably not see them if they weren't looking for them. You head into the house to join the others.

(Oops, I missed the post about the gate. For the sake of comedy, let's just say she missed the open gate.)

Only-The-Cold walks in, casting shillelagh on her staff. Does tremorsense sense any heartbeats or movement or something other than the party's?

** she is human. You guys should be able to see eachothers sheets in the campaign
She wears very old, rather dirty ceremonial druid's robes. She is barefoot, and wears an old headdress.
