Alek, the tavern owner, also adds "I also overheard that you had trouble with Bildrath across the street. He always raises his prices for out of towners. But he deals fairly with the Vistani, because we've brought him stock in the past. If there's something you need, I could go over and purchase it for you."
"That would be swell - or have him treat us fairly and we can purchase things ourselves. Either way. We don't have much, so we need decent prices. Back to the original topic, though...what can you tell me about Borovia and the Vistani people? I am a bard and have travelled far and wide, collecting stories and lore. I am trying to match this place to the legends I know, or learn it fresh for the future!"
(roo bad Rhanloi, you're literally already the author of their entire history, lineage, and future with that roll!)
Rajiira stops what she was doing...... She .. thinks she knows what the dagger does, it's some ort of specially enchanted dagger or artifact or somehting of some kind... that lets her communicate with... Once she got near the wall.. she would see if it worked both ways or only one. Heloooooo, this one can hear you. Can you hear this one too? Can you understand? Rajiira has fooood.....
to the rest of the group it would look like Rajiira had gotten on all fours and had begun speaking to the wall.
Thrash will stand with his back to her trying to act like a wall.. preventing the other customers and his companions from seeing that Rajiira has gone crazy.
Allustine - "Like I said, I'm not the expert around here. But I know that this place is somehow... disconnected from the rest of the world. The ruler of Barovia, Strahd, has used some sort of dark magics to keep Barovia under his control, with no chance of outside interference. But for some reason or another he has a soft spot for us Vistani, and we're allowed to come and go as we please. I haven't left in quite some time, since we bougt this tavern. Sometimes people like yourselves just get sort of stuck here. Perhaps by accident, perhaps on purpose, who can know?"
Rajiira - the voice stops, and pauses for a moment, "What kind of food you have? Who said that?"
Rajiira's interest piqued at the possibilities, even as simple as they were. Her rump began shaking in the air, left and right, and left her armor only covering what was necessary....as she contemplated how to answer. She had eaten most of her breakfast but had enough to make some decent scraps for one so small.
Hmmm.. Rajiira is..... friendly? I have food, mostly fresh, made from the kitchen in this place. Rajiira means you no harm, she is.. testing something. If you can just.. tap the wall several times.. Rajiira's test will be complete, and she will leave you her food for later.
Rajiira was still listening behind her to what was being said by Alek, doing that thing where one ear is facing one direction, while the other the opposite. If her test was a success, she would follow through on her promise, but then return to the table until the party decided to go, for now, she could think of no more questions.
Rajiira keeps her promise, heading back to her table, putting all her remaining food in a leathered sack pocket from inside her pack and when the host left, she would place the remaindre of it wherever a hole in the wall might be found, assuming the rat would be able to figure it out from there.
This could come in handy, even if only in limited amounts. It was essentially a tongues spell for rats for it's wielder. She would keep it on her hip from now on, to maintain the link.
(I don't know if Thrash can understand Rajiira or not. Is she speaking like a mouse?)
Thrash would stand facing the others until he felt something bump into his back repeatedly. glancing backwards he would catch sight of the Rajiira swaying back and forth. mesmerized for a moment he would quickly turn back around and try to sway with her as to prevent others from catching sight of the same view he did. Thrash will whisper back over his shoulder "Are you trying to lure something out of the wall or me?"
Rajiira would chuckle a bit, before saying Hahaha, no, no. It is a.. feline habit. Rajiira had no time before, to study this, but this one had a feeling it would have something about it with it's.. uniqueness. When Rajiira wielded it, this one began to hear noises, Rajiira followed them unsure what they were.. perhaps some trap or whatnot which is why I asked for backup. Turns out it lets rajiira speak to rats or understand them or somesuch... which could somehow prove handy in the future.
"Once everyone is done with their meals and preparations for the morning, let's go see this Madam Eva. Maybe stop by the store with our host here to pick up some additional supplies if you need. But we should head out soon...there is a mystery to solve and a new land to explore!"
Thrash will nod in agreement to Alustine and let out a sigh of relief that Rajiira is not crazy. As everyone gets up from the table and starts to head out the door, Thrash will hang back and quickly devour every last bit of food remaining except for OTC's face oatmeal before catching up with the group. As he heads towards the door with his supplies for making his shield, he will think back to the items he picked up in the house and will throw on the Ghoul skin cloak as he heads out the door. Hoping he gets some magic powers like Rajiira.
You all head across the street with Alek, and he pauses outside, "Wait here one moment." and he steps inside.
A short time later he reemerges, "I explained to him that you are guests of the Vistani, and should be treated as such. He will offer you a fair price now. Don't give him too hard of a time." and he chuckles to himself as he says goodbye and heads back to the tavern.
Tyriok yells, "Thank you!" at Alek and then says to the others, "It may be a better idea for all of you to go in, I didn't make a great first impression. I don't need anything anyway, but ask if he has any scrolls, please!"
Alek, the tavern owner, also adds "I also overheard that you had trouble with Bildrath across the street. He always raises his prices for out of towners. But he deals fairly with the Vistani, because we've brought him stock in the past. If there's something you need, I could go over and purchase it for you."

"It seems Rajiira is the first to crack. I wonder who will be next?"
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."

After a moment you hear few sort of scratches on the other side of the wall, that could be considered taps.
After whatever Thrash's reaction was....
