Your mouth fills with water you are startled and perhaps gag at the unexpected volume of fluid…
“It seems this pine is damaged beyond the scope of my healing.” Krakel says as he stands over the pine. “There are some more of those pebbles here on it.” He notices and proceeds to collect the pebbles from the body.
Tori towers grimly over the pine. "Do you think if we take it and plant it near the ship that we can revive it? It is a plant after all, they are very robust"
When the party is ready they continue up the hidden staircase. As their elevation continues to climb the clouds begin to break up and a bright full moon bathes the area in dim moonlight.
In the distance you see what looks like a colossal ice cave with the river spewing out like a frozen tongue. It appears to be guarded by unusual creatures…

The Bonsai needle clusters fly as Tori’s enlarged weapon nearly sends the Bonsai flying.

Lyra suggests, "We could try offering the pebbles taken from the pine back to it, to see if it can do anything with them."
{I'm assuming we can recover the removed pebbles from the bodies of the bonsai.}
The pine is covered with sap and does not respond to the cure wounds. You may recover the strange pebbles.
