the Umber Hulk towers over Magoo, it swipes a claw at Magoo 10 to hit missing Magoo. Then the behemoth lumbers towards Lyra who hurt him with that well aimed arrow, 12 to hit another miss, now even more enraged the Hulk tries one last time to kill Lyra critical hit for 31 slashing damage.

Why a yell of rage, Mario starts pummeling the UH (attack 20, damage 9), and uses one focus point (2 remaining) for two more unarmed strikes (crit for damage 15) and (attack 17 + 4=21, damage 7). He then gets in position to Deflect the expected counterattack.
As the rending claw descends upon the head and neck of Lyra a brilliant blinding flash literally causes the umber hulk to reflexively cover its eyes cancelling what surely would’ve devastated any target.
Magoo dives right in swinging so hard you can see the devastated carapace where his strikes landed, cracked and indented. Ichor is leaking into the dirt…

Lyra does NOT like being close up and personal with monsters, but she's not useless in a melee. She quickly draws one of her scimitars and tries finding a weak spot in the things chitinous hide.
