Rather than just hopping down into the hole, Lyra takes out her normal rope and finds something to secure it to (maybe the throne if nothing closer), then drops the other end into the hole. She slides down the rope and looks around before giving the all clear for the others to join her.

Krakel follows along with the others providing light as usual. Observing the search of the cargo area he offers Help and/or Guidance to his friends investigation efforts.
“I wonder what has been being stored down here it smells terrible.” He laments.
Magoo descends the rope and peers into the corners that the light might have missed (Darkvision 60'). This is not the most welcoming place, but it could have some goodies that would help his companions. (Investigation 16)
What you end up finding amidst the debris are squeeze pouches full of paste some have been broken open creating the terrible smell… any other hidden items require time digging and rolls for discovery.
“All these rotten food packages are disgusting, it smells awful down here. Seems like all the heat and moisture in this chamber have ruined any value they had.” Krakel says to the group as he covers his face with his mask to try to help reduce the smell.
“If you guys want to dig through that you can, but I have little interest in getting that filth all over me.”he adds.
“Should we report back to the myconids that we completed their task, or do you want to keep exploring down this round “melted” tunnel?”
I agree with a little more exploring. We are pretty healthy at the moment so let’s continue. Magoo will practice his sneaking (stealth 27) down the other tunnel.
Before climbing out of the store room, Lyra takes one last look around for anything interesting.

In the midst of the goo you also notice a net it blended in with the cargo area and almost didn’t catch your notice, but it looks out of place (a little too nice)
I agree with a little more exploring. We are pretty healthy at the moment so let’s continue. Magoo will practice his sneaking (stealth 27) down the other tunnel.
Magoo moves like a shadow the other tunnel enters a 6 way intersection with a shaft ascending and descending and a left right straight ahead route inaccessible other then by crossing the open shaft.
