Lebenha looks towards the ruined Mielikki tower and can't help but wonder of the nice young cleric that tried to speak with her before the attack could had escaped. Even the grumpy dwarf that kpet them apart.
But she mourns the tree too, the only place all this years that she was able to feel almost normal.
She realises that she is clutching her fist and a lone tear crosses her cheek, but she freezes it before it leaves her skin, and with a slow movement she takes it little ice drop from her face, extends her hand and let it fall from the tower in the direction of the former Miellikki tower.
( I am not sure if she can let it fall directly, I mean if we have direct contact with the outside, if not, she will just drop it in front of her )

OOC: Leb you've never been in the Mielikki garrison, the tree is in the Temple of the Four. The dragon toppled the tower of the temple remember THAT is where the tree is!! I'll PM you with your roll info. History however did not meet the DC for Caster based knowledge of the camp!

Lyra knows nothing about the ward magic, she's never seen it used before either. PM you with the rest!
OOC: A couple of you are asking. So the distance in simpler terms. Imagine a stadium and each corner is the garrison towers with the Temple of the Four at the exact middle.

Observing the camp from all angles the party looks to Hrain for the best plan of action moving forward.
"Its a shame about the Mielikkians," Carrigan says sighing as she looks towards the window where the rubble is clearly in view, "they were a decent lot much like the Chanuteains," she adds. "Always treated me well. Thinking my magic was natural and all," she adds using minor illusion to create a rearing miniature unicorn in her hand and holding it gingerly like a precious gem she then sighs loudly before waving her hand to dispell it. "We need to get out there and see who's still alive," she adds next her usual jovial demeanor vanishing as a serious look takes over her childlike face!

As Thomas finishes his prayer, his eyes linger on the blank space of sky where the tower should be. His eyes narrow as he steps closer to the window.
"Captain, there appears to be some kind of activity near the fallen Garrison."

At the same time, Lyra suddenly tenses up. "Yes, someone or something is moving over there!" and she points at the debris. She's already atop the stairs when she turns around to look at the others. "What are we waiting for? Whatever's happening over there is our only lead to get out of this situation." It consumes all her self-discipline not to run downstairs already.
Folzi takes in the sights from Hrain's quarters. The slight shimmering of the arcane wars has kept him quiet - perhaps lost in thought, thinking to the time when he saw the wards put in place. Glancing over to the fallen garrison he finally breaks his silence. "Those things have held up for almost as long as I've been here. I imagine it had to something mighty powerful to take it down."
The gnome pulls up a chair to stand on so he can get a better look out the window when Lyra and Thomas notices some activity now. He squints his eyes, allowing the crowd feet to appear, trying discern something. "No need to rush right in. We have no idea if whatever down there is friendly. Also if we are going down there I would feel better if we had a few more...provisions." He looks to the captain to see if he catches his understanding. "I would like to take a closer look at my camp to see if....," ge trails off with a dry throat.
Thomas keeps his eyes on the movements in the rubble, but speaks a response to the gnome's musings.
"I suspect it more likely that the wards fell from within, if they were activated at all. If a power could have broken them while active, I doubt we would still be here to talk about it."
Thomas then turns around and looks at Lyra before turning his attention to Hrain.
"But Lyra does have a point. Time may very well be of the essence here. I doubt they are survivors, but if they are, they likely need help. If they are not survivors, then they are either infiltrators or detainees who joined them, willingly or otherwise. Any of the three could be a valuable source of information."

"We do need to investigate but that doesn't mean charging blindly into what could still be a warzone, one thing that is clear if we get caught out in the open and the dragon has merely been hiding and hasn't left or a group of casters are able surround us from distance, things could end badly, very quickly."
Standing facing the window and looking out over Folzi's head Hrain continues.
"I would ask if any of you casters have abilities that would be of especial use in this situation spells of invisibility or movement, anything that could help us move without detection, that sort of thing. It may be that they have gone, leaving us to hide in our towers while they plan another assault but this could be an ambush and I would not like to be caught unprepared."
Turning back to the group looking at each of them the captain says "We seem a suitable reconnaissance party, a good mix of spell and steel, magics both arcane and divine, we could be a powerful team if we work together, I would prefer to take more men but our numbers are depleted enough and if something were to go wrong then we need enough strength to defend the tower. We may also be a small enough group to move without making too much of a disturbance. Carrigan it seems as though you intend to join us, will you give me cause to regret allowig you to tag along?"

"I haven't given you a single reason to distrust me Captain...unlike some," Carrigan adds but looks at no one in particular. "I know where my best interests lay and they just so happen to currently align with yours," she adds with a coy smile. "We could....use other means to investigate," she then says coyly. "Mistress did mention...tunnels," she adds next beaming at Hrain. "But of course I have no clue how to navaigate them," she adds curtly.
Metagaming pigeon says "there's a telescope on the balcony"...
At the mention of the telescope, Lyra slaps herself on the forehead and rushes over to the balcony. She comes to a halt right in front of the apparatus where she gives at a revenantial look and then slews it around to look at what once used to be the tower of Mielikki.
The gnome flashes a grin at the captain. "Well, I'm generally pretty sneaky...but I know a spell or two that can help me hide as well." He punctuates his boast with a wink.

Haldur threw a sideways glance at Carrigan as the halfling made her coy comments regarding interests being aligned "currently", but the sellsword maintained his silence for the time being. She had been very helpful thus far in providing the injured Shepherds with various implements of healing, and she was even now possibly providing important information that might aid the group in some much needed reconnaissance. Never the less, the mercenary made a small mental note about the recently un-shackled sorcerer before turning his attention back to the developing plan.
Insight Check on Carrigan, checking to see if Haldur can possibly discern hidden motivations behind her actions:19
Lyra can make our three Sisters of Mielikki as well as an odd shape near the smoldering gallows remains. It's the same dirty snow covered ground but there's something off about it.
Thomas moves over to the balcony as Lyra looks through the telescope, leaning on the rail in the direction of the movement.
"Can you make out any further detail? Matching robes? Represented races?"

“Those are Sisters of Mercy “ says Leb looking directly at the figures that move around the ruins. “Or at least they wear the robes with the colors of Mielikki. “
She turns to the captain.
“It seems that there are, in fact, other survivors. And if you ask me, it would be a good idea to put them under the protection of the ward. On the other hand, I do not have such powers that you were asking for. “
She takes a few steps back, trying to put herself behind the captain and at the oposite side of were Thomas would be.
If she has another ideas or knowledge, she keeps it for herself.
