The night is silent as you look over the village that the lot of you have been assigned to. There are supposed to be vampires tonight, but nothing is coming. And then you hear a whistle, as four shadowy cloaked figures race out of the trees, sharp teeth glinting in the moonlight. It’s time for a battle. 

But let’s have a flashback to earlier today, when you first arrived in the town of Nikeras, part of the Amber Province, and part of the country of Tyvern. And for centuries, Tyvern has been having a problem. Vampires. They’ve been infecting the citizens, taking their blood, and destroying homes. So the Eight Orders, Amber, Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, Agate, Onyx, Diamond, and Amethyst, formed the Knights to stop them. You have just joined the Knights. This is your first mission. 

You remember when you were debriefed. “There are eight types of vampires. Fireflies, Moths, Wolves, Bats, Cougars, Spiders, Cockroaches, and Owls. Fireflies and Moths are the most dangerous. They can survive during the day. They’ll be hiding among the townsfolk, watching and waiting. And at night, they’ll strike. I have given you the knight’s blade, an experienced vampire fighter.” So, as you enter this town, clutching the cross around your neck, what would you like to do? 

Hello! This is a PBP about Vampires, basically a tower defense with a heavy mystery plot involved too, run by Gato (Thegatolover). We’ll be using the 2024 rules. You make a level 4 character to start. You can put your sheet on paper if you sent me your AC, DPR, and HP. You can also only multiclass two different classes to prevent too much minmaxing.

Backstory:  Coltador was a prodigy and a miracle.  Born the longest day of the year on a cloudless day at high noon Coltador's mother was prophesied to birth a deliverer.  Shortly after giving birth to her son she was abducted by several vampires who in spite of the prophesy left the baby an orphan.  Unfortunately for them a priest closely watching the mother and child rushed in and collected the child raising him to be the rising deliverance he was prophesied to be.  Coltador joined the knights as soon as he was given an opportunity to take the acceptance test.  He hates vampires so strongly he is blinded by rage at even the mention of their involvement.

Subclass: Oath of Vengeance

Background:  Acolyte

I used standard array but I think I'll try rolling on here once.

Lol! Don't be so pessimistic... it's only been a short time since you posted the announcement.

Two questions, though:
1) For character stats, shall we roll here? Or do we use Point Buy? Or another method?
2) What is the role of the Eight Orders (Amber, Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, Agate, Onyx, Diamond, and Amethyst)? Beyond forming the Knights, I mean. Do they govern territories and have political power? Or are they more focused on a specific task? (Just to figure out if and how to include them in a potential character's backstory.)
