I've always wondered about this. To me, it would have made more sense as a subtype for Aberrations or Monstrosities, considering the MM only has about 6 Oozes total.
Do we know if there's an actual reason for this? Is it just tradition? Or if not, why do you think they should/shouldn't be their own type?
