His toothy maw seems to get nothing but Weslocke's armor, annoying the demon to the point that he is enraged. And suddenly remember the 12 acid damage he takes from Grompster's spell.
With range in his eyes he reaches out his slimy hand towards the warlock.
*You know what, Wes hasn't used a single fire spell, and Grompster hasn't prepared any (I was anticipating fire immunity), so Elemental Bane is useless here.*
Grompster opens his spell book and removes a jar with a pickled octopus within it. "Writhe." He commands with surprising clarity, waving his skinny hand.
Massive cat paws burst from the earth around Jack, batting at him. Evard's Black Tentacles.
Jack feels better, despite the worsening situation. Concentration on Elemental Bane has ended.

*Weslocke does have fireball (I think I cast that first turn)*
Anyway — Weslocke save: 9
Ford save: 12
*Well, that sucks.*

[[ Yeah. the various resistances are interesting. When it comes to demons even a CR 17 goristro and CR 16 marilith only have resistance to fire although the CR 19 balor finally has immunity. Seems demons trade fire immunity for an extra resistance compared to devils. IIRC I also used the dretch or manes as the base for the Jack block so on a second look he *technically* should get resistance to non-magical attacks, but considering I didn't give extra gear (and at your level the melees would have magic weapons) or I'd need to recalculate CR, that'll be a later edit I make with fine-tuning him. ]]
Ford rumbles, a deep, permeating growl that roars throughout the room. With axe in hand, blood flying off his face, he charges, ready to wreak havoc upon this froggy beast. "I...eat...frog...legs!" he shouts, struggling to piece together the sentence.
BA: Entering Rage Action: two Greataxe attacks --- first one 18 (7 + 8 + 3 for bless), 18 slashing damage (11 + 4 + 3 for rage), second a beautiful 13 (5 + 8) for 17 (10 + 4 + 3) slashing. Movement: Makes attacks, then retreats AFAP (as far as possible) as is able with the 40-ft. movement speed
Weslocke cries out with laughter as she reaches forward, drawing into her energy as she feels the creature weakening. Another ball of fire erupts from her hand, shooting towards the slimy beast.
*4th-level fireball, DEX 17 save for half damage, otherwise 34 (9d6) fire*
