Henlo! In one of the campaigns I DM for, two of the players just left, still pretty early on, only a few in-game days in so far. Anyhow, I'm looking for 1-3 new players for the campaign, little heads up though, it'll take a decent amount of prep and work even though we don't do messages every day.
So, Long explanation of what's transpired:
Many years ago (6, the Ancient Archwizard, Martin Adalade Callahan uncovered a truth that should have remained unknown, certain spells had the power to break reality itself, (shocker, right? /j). Over the course of a millennium, he harnessed this knowledge, eventually unraveling existence in a single moment, collapsing into nothingness save for some few lucky souls with immeasurable knowledge and power. Time passed, an immeasurable eternity before enough magic condensed into the old head deity, now called Karamel the Unbound. Using the raw threads of the Weave, she began the task of restoring creation, forging new stars, planets, and mortal life from the remnants of all that had been, during which, she consolidated everyone leftover from the blast onto the same planet, Scyrip, (Sigh-rip or Syrup). Eventually, she saw the need for greater hands to rebuild existence—minor deities and emissaries/angels who could establish order, rebuild society, and shape reality itself from the ground up. Instead of making entire deities from scratch, she sought out a handful of artifacts from the old worlds, overdriving them with magic, and shaping them into deities— your characters are these deities. After which, Kara found a select few good souls and offered them ascension to be her personal emissaries/angels, the identities and actions of which are unknown.
Tldr: universe got destroyed by some evil Wizard named Martin, eventually a deity named Kara gets reawakened and rebuilds a lot of stuff, and makes some deities out of magic items, these are you guys.
As for modern-day, a lot is shrouded in mystery, but so far, the party has awoken by mother—Karamel—in a temple housed in the town Apvill Cidreth. With an invitation from Karamel and noticing some pocket change, the party visits the nearby shopkeep En, a little mapach (racoon like being), finds a suspicious part spider person and makes him explain his past till he gets to the trauma part and cries, they bid him farewell and splurge on horses before heading off to a town just a few days travel away. This is where we 'ended' last, on the journey.
Finally to character creation, your characters are 3rd level, and what I'm looking for is their domain(s)/epithet(s) to build your character around, you will start with a minor magical item tied to your character that makes up this domain/epithet, it will scale in power with you. A holy symbol would also be nice, but won't come up for a while if at all, just a nice flavor bit. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me! Basically:
Name of the character
Race of the character
Class(es) of the character
Domain/Epithet and an idea for the item you were made from
(optional) any other information you think to be relevant
Just a couple of clarifications: Will we use the 2024 rules? Or the 2014 ones? Has anyone enabled Content Sharing in the campaign? Or do I have to rely solely on the content I own?
Vengeance/protection or fixing and war, the other two were nice but I'm not gonna count them since they left (if you don't wanna do the same as them, light w buffs and nature/animal husbandry)
Name of the character: (Unspecified) Race of the character: Halfling Class(es) of the character: Monk (Open Hand) Domain: Peace, Community
Epithet: The Kindly Stranger
Holy Symbol: A pair of forget me not blossoms sharing one stem, one blue, one magenta
Item: Footwraps of Fair travel. A set of dirty cloth wraps that when worn on the feat cause rocks, thorns and any other sharp objects to move from under the bearers feet.
Mechanics: Grants the wearer resistance to damage from environmental hazards that involve rough terrain. Wearer's movement is unaffected by rough terrain caused by ball-bearings, loose gravel, broken glass, caltrops, etc
I really like the Emerald Pen as a magic item (even if its uses in campaign are....dubious at best a lot of the time) so my character is going to be themed around this item specifically.
Name of the character: Zigraf
Race of the character: Dragonborn (Emerald)
Class of the character: Wizard (Order of Scribes)
Domain(s): Knowledge, Trickery (mainly knowledge, with a little dash of trickery in there)
Epithet(s): Recorder of Unseen Truths, The Divine Scribe
Holy symbol: a black pen tipped in green from which flows forth a stream of seemingly incomprehensible characters (usually the characters are dropped for smaller or less intricately detailed recreations).
Born from a pen imbued with the power to create incomprehensible strings of text, Zigraf shares dual and seemingly contradictory purposes of recording knowledge and obfuscating it, keeping careful records of all matters divine while also ensuring that such sacrosanct knowledge is shared only with those most worthy of it. A meticulous recordkeeper, his judgement alone is the final arbiter of who he deems worthy of his knowledge; to all others, it is entirely beyond their comprehension.
Oh yes, the emerald pen is cool, would be one of my top 5 if the Scribe's Pen wasn't a thing, one rarity lower (common but with attunement) and all writing you make can be invisible. Love yours and Rylentlar'scharacters, I'll add you to the IC and OOC chats soon, welcome!
I thought about Scribe’s Pen but I think there’s something almost smugly condescending about a scribe god who writes everything in perfectly visible yet entirely illegible writing. When I imagine his worship, I imagine that his followers are devoted to being like him in the hopes that they will be deemed worthy and learn to read the divine language of the gods which only the Recorder of Unseen Truths can write.

both/either, and I don't believe so for content sharing.
What domains are currently covered?

Alright, welcome to the pantheon adventurer! I'll add you to the IC & OOC chats shortly. Does your character not say their name or undecided?
I'm going with a "mysterious stranger" vibe, because peace can often be tenuous and fleeting. So no name, just honorifics and nicknames
