*curious how races will work and what type of campaign this is. Do people become their races once they enter the magical world, and is it more sandboxy or a strict adventure?*

If I’m being annoying, tell me to shut up. Seriously. Just say “Bananer shut up.” And I will. For a few seconds!
Don’t listen to the folks down at Adohands. It’s good for me to overwork myself.
Professional idiot! Trans! Pansexual pancake! I am a minor so you will do none of that (GP) with me! I use He/They pronouns :3
Name: Connor Vale Race: Human (Variant) Ability scores:121414151311 Class: Monk (Level 1) Background: Folk Hero (Ren Fest Performer) Alignment: Neutral Good Starting Level: 1 Backstory: Before he woke up in another world, Connor Vale lived an ordinary, if somewhat strange, double life. He was a bouncer for a downtown nightclub, the kind of place where the music was loud, the lights never stopped flashing, and trouble was always one spilled drink away. He was good at his job: calm under pressure, polite when he could be, intimidating when he had to be. Years of breaking up fights without throwing punches had taught him the art of control: breath, timing, restraint. He liked to joke that he was “a monk of the modern age,” though his coworkers said he just had a hero complex.
But when the renfest came to town? That was Connor’s escape. He became Connor of the Open Fist, a mock-monk performer at the local Renaissance Festival. Barefoot in loose robes, he’d give “philosophical” speeches between fake duels, quoting a mix of kung fu movies and history podcasts as if they were scripture. He taught kids how to “center their chi,” helped the blacksmiths carry gear, and was known for breaking up drunk arguments in character, defusing tension with charm and a grin. It was supposed to be just for fun, an act.

Figured Alert, Tavern Brawler, or Tough would be fitting since he is a bouncer.
Weirdly, I was just thinking about a campaign like this! I'd love to join you.
Name: Avery Skye aka Faerwen Sunpetal Race: Fairy Ability scores: Ability scores: 111111141211 or I will use Standard Array Class: Warlock (Archfey) Background: Entertainer Alignment: Neutral Good Backstory: In the real world, Avery Skye was a consummate performer and storyteller—a professional actress with a modest online following, a gifted musician who played lute covers of pop songs, and a rising name in the tabletop scene. Her friends joked that she lived half in fantasy already, splitting her time between community theater rehearsals, Twitch streams, and immersive D&D events. She’d made a niche for herself as a “professional dungeon master for hire,” known for elaborate roleplay, custom soundscapes, and tear-jerking finales. Her biggest claim to fame came when she ran a session for B. Dave Walters’ “D&D in a Castle” series, which led to a brief wave of internet notoriety and invitations to conventions. Beneath the confidence, though, she often felt like she was performing even off-stage—never quite sure if the person behind all the sparkle and stories was as magical as the ones she brought to life.
At the height of summer, Avery (or rather Faerwen) was in her element, her wings glittering under the sun, her laughter carrying over the crowds at the Bristol Renaissance Faire. She’d spent months perfecting her “Faerwen Sunpetal, Fae Bard of Titania” costume, right down to the delicate runes painted across her skin and the crown of flowers that shimmered with LED fireflies. When the noon parade began, a sudden hush rippled through the fairgrounds, followed by a blinding flash of emerald light. The laughter, the lutes, the clinking of mead mugs—all became something else. The air thrummed with raw magic. The knights’ swords gleamed with true steel, the dragons roared from the hills beyond, and Marissa felt her wings move on their own. Titania’s name echoed in her mind like a memory she had never lived.
Now, Avery, no longer sure where the line between her character and herself lies, wanders a realm that feels like the fantasy she used to write, run, and perform. Her charisma and creativity serve her well, but she struggles to reconcile the awe and terror of living in a world built on stories. Somewhere, deep within this strange new realm, whispers tell of a rift between the Summer and Gloaming Courts. And Titania herself, whose name once made audiences cheer, is calling her “beloved child of the stage,” as if this had all been rehearsed long ago.
Name: JoJo Race: Goliath Ability scores:161716131111 Class: Ranger (Level 1) (Based on my job when I was younger) 2024 PHB Background: Criminal Alignment: Neutral Good Starting Level: 1 Backstory: Before he woke up in another world, JoJo lived an ordinary life of a reformed juvenile delinquent. Just before his 18th birthday, he was arrested again, going before the judge, he gave JoJo one last chance for redemption before becoming an adult. Either join the Army or be sentenced like an adult and go to jail. He picked the army, while in the army one unit came to his basic training company and asked for volunteers to join a non regular unit. JoJo agreed, after basic/AIT he was sent to a few other schools and arrived at is new unit. He was trying to decide if he wanted a career in the army. He made a choice and the recruitment sergeant gave him a 4 day pass. A buddy from outside his unit wanted to to go to a ren faire, JoJo took leave from the unit and went with his buddy.
