Thyrnn commands Shiver to stay close to avoid startling the strangers or have them accidentally attack Shiver out of fear or surprise.
“They could be having this exact same discussion about us right now. We should assume they are friendly until otherwise shown. The weather is dangerous enough that we don’t need to invent more without need.”
Iden does not like the idea of attempting to follow strangers in the storm without more information.
“It might be best to quickly figure out if they are dangerous. I can turn someone invisible so they can get closer without being seen and find out if we need to be concerned. If we noticed them it is very possible that they will eventually notice us. If anyone else can help with making someone quiet we have a good shot at scouting them without being noticed.”
Abishai continued to trudge through the snow, confident in the route. Glad the group had tied themselves together, made it impossible for a person in their group to wander off and get lost alone. So when of the group veered off the established track, the rope gently tugged them back into formation. Visibility was terrible and the cold was even worse. The blanket wrapped around the bearded fighter kept most of the cold at bay, but it did nothing to help Abishai's attitude.
He had been staring down far longer than he'd wanted to admit, which is why he was caught off guard when talk began of small creatures nearby. 'Fool... It's my job to stay vigilant, one I clearly failed.'
"We cannot assume they are hostile." The warrior says as he places a gloved hand upon Viletta's horse's haunch and gently pats the beast. "If one of you wishes to scout ahead to get a closer look, the rest of us will provide overwatch if hostilities commence."

Skalma grins at Iden, a teasing glint in her fierce, solid blue eyes. "What type of creatures travel in packs in this weather? Aye, what kind of fools would think tae do such a daft thing?!"
The goliath glances around at the rest of of the company. "I'm nae too shabby at sneaking aboot, learned how tae keep the crunch of me boots soft, and blend me form with the snow drifts when needed. But if yer keen tae give it a go, Thrynn, dinnae let me stop ye."
She says nothing of Iden's sorcery, still untrusting of the mage's peculiar tricks. The giantess watches as Abishai prepares for battle, and draws her longbow from her belongings, a formidable weapon crafted of yew that stands taller than her companions.

ACTION: Ready. In the event that a fight breaks out, she will shoot an arrow at the most dangerous looking enemy. To hit: 17 Damage: 13
Viletta nods in agreement as she watches the members of the party ready themselves. She slips out of the loop of rope tying her to the rest of the group--it's a risk, in the blizzard, of course, but if she needs to get on her horse to speed an attack, it could mean the difference between victory and defeat. Turning to smile at Abishai, she quietly lifts the shortbow he lent her and pulling an arrow from the quiver, knocks it in readiness for anything to happen.
(Viletta will also ready an action to fire her bow on a hostile attacker.)
Thyrnn unties himself from the group and waits to be turned invisible. Once he is, he makes his way closer to the strange group to observe their behaviors and possibly overhear their discussions.
As Viletta and Thrynn free themselves from the rope train, Iden begins casting invisibility turning Thrynn immediately invisible. Those of you watching where Thrynn was, see his boot prints remain. As he slowly takes off toward whatever convoy of figures crossed your path, you watch as more tracks sink into the snow. Thrynn, you continue getting closer, not noticing the clear path you're leaving behind. You get about 10 feet from one of the creatures before you get a good view of the creature; which turns instinctively around, looking directly at you--or at least through you. Standing in front of you, is a stout blue-skinned goblin with a piercing set of ice blue eyes that is currently searching with its eyes only in your direction. Squinting from moment to moment as the snow pelts its face. Until it notices the boot prints unlike its own. "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" it screams as a large jagged shard of ice manifests in its hand. Luckily, due to the blizzard, a handful of the figures don't hear the warcry and continue going, but Viletta, Iden, Skalma, Abishai, and Grelk, you all watch as three other of the figures turn in the direction of the muffled scream and jagged weapons appear suddenly in their hands as well. The goblinoid begins charging in your direction Thrynn. You're not sure if it can actually see you or not, but it is charging in your direction and will either run into you or spot the rest of your group very shortly as it moves toward them.
Skalma
Inhabitants other than wolves, bears and such, include some kobolds and goblins that have grown accustomed to the cold, as well as bugbears, giants, and potentially dragons as the group had spoken about earlier. There are small factions of snowland druids that roam the Permafrost as well.
(OOC: Everyone please give me some initiative! Abishai, are you preparing a melee attack? Currently whatever is in front of the group is 30 feet away, and the snow is causing difficult terrain. For folks doing ranged attacks, due to the blizzard: attacks are at disadvantage and auto miss beyond their first attack distance)
The sudden ferocity of the goblins takes Thyrnn by surprise and he instinctually stops and backpedals a few feet. Still being invisible, he tries to sidestep his current position so they aren’t charging directly at him anymore.
