"So...Nobody knows anything..let's take a stroll around town?"
Kassity plans to check the perimeter of the town looking for horse tracks of unusual size or poop piles of unusual size. Then buildings that might contain such a horse.

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
You stroll around town, trying to look like an inconspicuous party as you keep your eyes out for any sign of this horse. A pretty penny would be nice. As expected, you don't find any signs of this creature itself --- the bandits wouldn't be so obvious as to hide it in town. But, as you walk through the crowds, a conversation catches your ear --- and your eye. The source? A casually-dressed goblin, looking as if he'd just finished work, and a faerie, fluttering along beside him. They chat quietly, but you can still hear --- "...and what should we do with the package once it arrives?"
"Oh, dispose of it. We need to teach the Lord a lesson."

Momo upon hearing this goblin speak, turns to Brink, then looks up and up and up and...realizes no way this little gnome can whisper up 1000 feet. Then looks up at the DOS Dragonborns...shakes his little gnome head.
He scurries up to Kassity and whispers up..."not sure if you heard the goblin a few paces back. But it might be worth while if I follow them?" Momo is doing the universal sign language for agree/disagree - rotating one hand so his thumb is up or the thumb is down.
OOC - not sure if I follow correctly, but I assume we are heading out of town to look for "fresh" tracks leading into/out of town.

As Kassity heads to the perimeter of town, Momo follows. "mind if I join you and assist with your tracking.? I am not bad myself at it...."
Momo silently prays to god MurphyLaw, please don't let me embarrass my self in front of this new group of acquaintances.
