Aydlott's gaze spots the glint of the blade just before Kravik's warning about the fresh kill. "There, something in the woods!" he shouts. He yanks up his crossbow into position as the chill annoucement leaps from the woods and several figures step into the road, blades drawn. "Dark is the heart that revels in calling itself wicked," he snarls at them. "Even I never fell that low. Who are you? Did you kill this man?"
Kravik steps forward right away, getting between the farmer and the five figures, with his shield up and his hand hovering near the hilt of his rapier. His eyes scan each of them, noting their positioning and their confidence.
"We're just weary travelers heading back into town," he says, his voice steady and firm, but not aggressive. "We found this man in the road. If you know anything about what happened to him, we should talk about it calmly."
His stance is defensive but not threatening, shield raised but weapon still sheathed. Every line of his body conveys readiness without provocation. To the farmer, without taking his eyes off the figures, he says quietly, "Stay behind me."
His steel-grey eyes assess the leader, looking for signs of whether these are opportunistic bandits or something more calculated. "There's no need for more blood on this road tonight."
(OOC: lol. I'll go with what @ZaphodBattlebrox had in mind.)
Aydlott snarls at the cloaked figures, who stand there, motionless, seemingly careless to his words. As Kravik moves forward, attempting to better explain their tale, the lead figure puts up a hand, palm outstretched towards you two. "This man was not felled by our hands," another says, voice rasping through the tense air. "But the man you carry with you, he is whom for which we search."
"We are not much, have next to nothing, yet he wronged us long ago. We seek our vengeance." Although it is very much a direct threat, one which, in response to, you can almost hear the farmer shrinking into himself behind you, it sounds desperate. Like a plea.

Kyvir doesn't know what to think about Tobias, how can someone be unsure about something they are dedicating their life too.... Kyvir just eyes Momo up and down, trying to get a sense.
Insight: 19 Guidance: 4
(OOC: Was gonna leave this to @Character77006, but lemme keep this moving.)
Kyvir inspects Momo quietly, listening to him speak from the corner as he pretends to be disinterested. Momo...seems genuine, that's for sure. It feels like he might not be telling you everything about himself, but it seems as if he isn't leaving much out. He also seems slightly intimidated by the presence of all three of you, who are essentially strangers to him. His gaze continually, nervously flickers back-and-forth between Ember and the two of you.

He looks back over his shoulder to keep an eye on Momo.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kravik doesn't lower his shield, but his posture shifts slightly; still protective, but listening. The desperation in their voice catches him, the way the threat sounds more like a wounded cry than a battle challenge.
"Vengeance," he says quietly, his gaze steady on the leader. "I understand the need for it. But vengeance without understanding is just more fire added to fire. It consumes everything, leaving only ash."
He keeps himself between them and the farmer, but his tone remains calm and measured. "He told me he's spent thirty-three years trying to atone for what he did. That doesn't erase the harm... I know that. But before this goes further..." He pauses, glancing briefly at the body in the road. "Tell me what he did to you. Not because I'm taking his side, but because I need to understand what justice looks like here."
His hand hasn't left his rapier's hilt, but he's offering them something more valuable than a fight: he's offering to listen. To see if there's a path that doesn't end in more death on this road.

Momo looks at the two, and let's out a belly life. Calming down Momo says, "I ain't lying, if you think I am, I really don't care. Thanks for helping me get out of there."
"So...I guess we should part now, after all who wants a liar to hang around? I was so busy following, I wasn't paying attention where we where going or where I was. If you can point me to the correct direction, this liar will be on his way.
Momo grasps Tobias' hand and says, "Momo, glad to meet you and I am grateful for your help in getting me out. I am very thankful. I too am leery of strangers as well so understand the gestation."
Turning to the othe, Momo puts out his hand, "Momo and you are..."

It takes Momo, Tobias, and Kyvir a sweet second to skedaddle around the goliath once more and find a back exit ----- and Momo's bumbling around didn't help too much...however, after much turning in the backstage and hiding whenever you hear footsteps approaching, you see a door ahead, the word "EXIT" crudely, choppily scrawled above. Unluckily for you, a woman stands in front of the door, hurriedly sorting out costumes from a rack. "Don't be late, don't be late!" she whispers to herself, examining a plush, red suit. "Can't be---"
And Kravik, as you speak, the lead figure steps back. Once you're finished, they look up at you, eyes blazing through the darkness. Then, they remove their cloak, allowing the black fabric to flop to the floor. They seem to be the average young faerie, perhaps only a century in age, their close-cropped hair, the color of cinnabar, reflecting small pockets of freckles dotting each defined cheekbone. But, looking closer, something is off.
"You asked what he took from us?" they say, their pupils blaring at the farmer. "He took our wings, and with them, all that we knew."

"Apologies, Where I come from you can't exactly trust people, especially people in places like this."
He will kneel down and reach out his hand
"The name is Tobias"

"I'm Kyvir... And that.."
He says, motioning to the smoke fox.
"That is Ember.. Don't worry, we won't hurt you, unless you try to hurt us."
I don't have a signature.
Momo is not liking the threat/challenge, but for cooperation ignores the challenge. "Nice to me you both Kyvir and ember." So what is next?"
OOC what time of day are we in? and can the DM add me to the assumed OOC thread? Assume it is a PM thread.

Momo looks at the two and half beings he is with,
