Vulcan, Kravik, Aydlott --- you accept the farmer's offer of a dinner and a night of rest, deciding that to go back to town while giant locusts prowl would be a...well, perhaps not the best of plans. The food is light and delicious --- steamed vegetables, squashes and corn charred slightly above a fire, with a bit of well-cooked chicken on the side. It rejuvenates you, readies you for whatever's coming next.
As you begin to clean the plates, moving around the small kitchen, scrubbing vigorously while you chat amicably, a chittering noise comes from outside --- a loud outburst, and then silence again. The farmer carefully puts down his plate, then raises a finger, motioning you towards the door. He grabs his pitchfork, holding it tightly. Then, pushing open the door, he runs out into the night.
Following him, you see a scene of chaos --- dimly lit by the moon, a couple of giant conglomerations --- things of many legs and appendages, the size of horses, moving rapidly through the crops. As they hop around the fields, corn turns black and crumbles under their touch. Although you stand in plain sight, none of them come towards you. "There you go," the farmer says. "Those are what's been plaguing me."

OOC: To be clear, are these swarms, large creatures, or swarms of large creatures? I'm trying to picture if there are 2 large creatures, 2 swarms of creatures, or something else.
Kyvir holds his head, a splitting headache going over him as he slowly get's up, his wings flair and he looks at who he bumped into.
"Hey! Watch where you're going man! People are walking here."
Tobias hold his head, still feeling some of the pain from when his mind was probed earlier that day and know running into someone. Instinctively he puts on a large showman smile and he says
"Sorry my good sir......"
He stops as he looks up and sees Kyvir. This is his first time seeing a Tiefling so he is taken aback for a second and his smile waivers. He then notices the wings oh his back and remembers that the mysterious man also had wings, he continues
"My mind must have been somewhere else, my friend. My deepest apologies."
Tobias thinks that Kyvir might also know something about Lira but is playing it safe for now.

Kravik looks at the others. "Well, I could start trying to pick them off with my bow, but I don't know how effective that'll be. Maybe we should get closer."
Aydlott thoroughly enjoys the dinner and the company, regretting only not having a bit more ale to bolster his mood. And, subsequently, his courage really just isn't there when he reaches for it, following the farmer out into the dark, moonlit night, and beholding the horrifically large insects ravaging the crops. His stomach turns. And flops. Aydlott really, really wants to go back inside the house. Go to sleep, and forget all this. Maybe have another piece of corn. Like the corn that's being burnt to a crisp before his eyes...
"I, uh," he manages, after a minute. "I really hate that this is happening. Let me go and get my horse." He makes a run for the barn where presumably he put his horse up to munch some hay. "Hey there, old fella," he says, stroking the animal's nose--in a hurry--as he rushes past to grab his saddle. "We're going to do one of two things right now. We're going to have an awful bloody fight, or we're going to run back to town at a dead gallop. I haven't decided which one yet." Throwing the saddle on the horse and cinching up the girth. He puts the bridle on and leads the horse out, smiling at the animal who has been his constant companion, and who doesn't threaten him with death curses or other expectations.
Aydlott barely has time to fly into the saddle as he and the horse both take a quick pace out of the barn and back to the house, to see if anything has changed about the giant locusts, or if everything is still all horrible. Yup, it's still horrible. Aydlott swallows what saliva is left in his dry mouth as he rides up to the others. "Time to get down to business," he says. It's almost convincing.
Kravik smirks when Aydlott returns from the barn. "And here I thought you might be running." Looking at the horse, he adds, "Or did you just stop by to offer Vulcan a lift? I'm not sure he can run otherwise."
Aydlott turns crimson. Good thing it's hard to see in the low light. "I'll happily offer him a lift, that is, uh, IF we have to run..."He pulls a crossbow from his belt and cocks it back, snapping a bolt into the channel. "But we could shoot first, and then run. I really do hate to see these big bugs get away with this."
Kyvir holds his head, a splitting headache going over him as he slowly get's up, his wings flair and he looks at who he bumped into.

"My mind must have been somewhere else, my friend. My deepest apologies."
Tobias thinks that Kyvir might also know something about Lira but is playing it safe for now.
"Yeah... Whatever... Just, keep your eyes up. You're lucky you walked into me and not into someone that is looking for a fight, otherwise I'd have to do things I'd prefer not to..."
Kyvir looks towards the tavern, then back towards the man.
"If you're looking for something to eat, the place has good food, and even better drink... A drink that should take your mind somewhere else... Just make sure you watch your pockets. Just as sure as there is someone who is looking for a fight, there are also those who are looking for a quick buck too..."
First Tobias notes that its easy to pick pocket in the tavern which he is not surprised most the time it is, just good to have the confirmation. He then continues to speak with Kyvir,
"Well good sir you seem to know a thing or two about this place. I myself have only just arrived. Do you think its possible you could show me around town?
Tobias wants to spend a little more time with Kyvir in hopes that he might be involved with his sisters kidnapping and plans on questioning him subtly.
Kyvir looks around, as if he's looking for something, then suddenly, from between Tobias's legs, bursts a smokey figure of a fox. It hops around and interacts with everything as if it was a solid being, however you can tell if you were to move your hand towards it, your hand would go right through it. The fox stops at Kyvir's foot and looks to Kyvir, then to Tobias, then back to Kyvir.
"I know I know... But he's not.... No... No... Don't give me that look....."
Kyvir seems to be having an argument with himself while looking at the smokey fox creature.
"Fine... Fine... Let's go... I'll show you what I can..."
Kyvir then motions for Tobias to follow as he proceeds to show him around town, pointing out some of the points of interest.

Kravik allows himself a brief moment of satisfaction at Aydlott's flustered response before his expression shifts back to focus. There's work to be done.
"Let's move away from the house," he says, already stepping toward the fields but angling to keep distance from the farmhouse itself. "Don't want to give them any ideas about easier targets." He unslings his longbow, nocking an arrow as he walks, his movements practiced and deliberate.
Once he's positioned himself with a clear line of sight to the swarm—close enough to be effective, far enough to avoid drawing them toward the farmer's home—he settles into a ready stance. "We'll start with ranged attacks. See how they react before we commit to anything closer."
His eyes track the chittering mass of insects, calculating. Five or six of them, each the size of a horse, he thinks. This is going to take more than a few arrows.

Tobias is surprised by this small fox, and stumbles a bit backward. He is not familiar with that much magic and believes this to be a trick Kyvir is doing, that is until Kyvir begins to speak to it. All of this only raise Tobias' suspicion know that this man has something to hide. Tobias keeps his showman's smile on and says
"Thank you good sir, I must say that is some illusion you're doing there" he motions to the smokey fox, "how is it you are doing that?"
Tobias knows it can't be a trick but needs to gather information on this person somehow. I assume that they would have began walking in what ever direction Kyvir would lead as they talk
