Name : Torvil "Wulfun" Greattoe
Race : Dwarf
Class : Barbarian, Path of the Wildheart
Background : Farmer
Backstory :
Torvil grew up in Settlestone near Mithral Hall, a dwarf of common beginnings, among a community of settlers, traders, and farmers. He has always enjoyed being outside rather than "cooped up and caged," as he would say. One day, when hoeing a tough patch of ground, an angry, hungry grizzly wandered into the field, looking for food. Torvil grasped his hoe and ran forward, screaming dwarvish curses, which is the wrong approach for a grizzly. He swung the hoe in a perfect arc and brought it into the bear's forehead, bringing it down to the amazement of the dwarves working with him that day. A war pick has been his favorite weapon ever since.
As the bear was sinking to the ground, something strange happened. Torvil was the only one who felt it, an odd energy that absorbed into his body. He stared into the dead eyes of the bear, and it sounded like a roar in his ears, and finally, he heard his friends screaming at him. Since that day, he has had a way of harnessing his strength in fearsome ways, channeling an animalistic energy as he brutally attacks any foe. Wolves follow him and seem to talk to him when he's walking through the woods. He's been to cities, even to the famous Waterdeep. He can't stand any cruelty to animals, feeling a natural bond with them more than most dwarves, humans, or elves. But he became pretty tight with his crew in Waterdeep, they knew and valued his skills. They also respected his need to check in on Settlestone when he heard a rumor of a Goblin attack recently.
Now he's returning to Waterdeep. He received a carved token with a wolf on the face, the signal to gather that a courier brought along the road. He's heading toward Waterdeep. Something feels off. There are the usual warnings. Birds see much, but misinterpret much too. I need to go and see for myself. I hope they are okay... He chews the inside of his cheek. He stops for a moment, waiting until the wolf catches up. He turns and .. makes a barking, howling sound towards it. "I'm fine. Tell the others. Stay safe. Watch. Wait. Feed." He turns and shoulders his war pick again, trudging forward, keeping up a good pace...

Looking to play either a human Oath of Vengeance Paladin dedicated to Hoar or (if you allow it) a Battle Smith Artificer.
Paladin - Mardrik Hanker: Started life as a street urchin until taking up criminal activities with his friend Torbin. But they ran afoul of the Xanathar Guild when they hit a mark that some guild members had been stalking. The thieves attacked and killed Torbin and left Mardrik for dead, but an apparition came to Mardrik and asked him if he wished to avenge his friend. Mardrik said yes, and the apparition gave him a coin with the mark of Hoar. It then instructed him to visit the god's shrine in the Docks Ward and give the coin to the priest there.
Battle Smith - Balig Ardith: Studied with an exiled artificer from the isle of Lantan who set up a shop in the Trades Ward. Constantly on the lookout for Lantanese agents who want to make sure the island's secrets don't get out any further into Faerun.
