Emanuel speaks up; "There are thieves on that Skycoach that assaulted and robbed a university professor. If you can delay; or even return that vehicle for us it would help a lot!" (Will make a persuasion check if you wish.)
"I-er, I cannot do such a thing, sir, the coaches are all autonomous from any control on my end," the lad blinks sheepishly, "Er, it's, it's going to cost you to board the raft- AH, I will wave the fee, just don't destroy them, please!"
Bloody Spear loomed over Eman's shoulder menacingly, then runs off to jump on a soarsled.
The skycoach you chase is still fully within view!

Emanuel turns towards Lily; "Get it prepped, I'll be there in a moment." He calls out after her, before turning back towards the man before him. He takes a moment to shiver off the recent menacing presence of Bloody Spear, and then asks the employee; "Okay, I understand that you can't control them; but can you contact them?" He says in a slow and calm manner, trying to relax the man a bit.
"No?" The man replies. You get the feeling this guy mostly just rents the machines out and doesn't know much about how they work.

You have all taken flight! Eman and Lily ride on the skyraft while Berlyn and Bloody Spear take up the soarsleds. The rush of liftoff blows back your hair and you suddenly notice the sky is alive. There are dozens of soarsleds moving every which way, skycoaches dropping off the well-to-do at the station you just left, and flying creatures like hippogriffs soaring through the night sky.
The city is lit up in a way that anyone from the Downstairs could only ever dream of. The everbright lanterns and other light sources paint the landscape with hues of yellows, oranges, blues, and purples.
Of course, you can't enjoy the view... you've got thieves to catch!

Notes on controlling the flying devices:
Soarsleds Soarsleds are flying disks that people use to move around the city. They can achieve great speeds and are the favorite mode of transportation of couriers. The disk is two and a half feet in diameter and three inches thick. It is made of a light metallic material. The disk floats by itself and it is easy to drive. It features a kind of mental link with the user so that it behaves in the manner that the user wants. They never run out of energy but they only work in Sharn. Only one person can use it at a time.
Skyraft Skyrafts are miniature versions of skycoaches. They are big enough to carry two people on them. The eldritch engine in the back is similar to the ones seen on normal skycoaches, but smaller in size. It is easy to drive, there are two levers. One for speed, and the other controls the direction of the exhaust tubes and the skyraft.

Berlyn, believing the thief with the schema is on the sky coach, races after it willing the soar sled to go full speed. Once she is within 60 feet of it, she starts singing what sounds like a nursery rhyme in elvish to invoke faerie fire. The sky coach will glow with violet light and so will most of it passengers. Realizing she can't catch up to the sky coach, Belyn turns her attention to one of the hooded figures on soar sled. Having seen the schema, she is able to use her the abilities of her Mark to sense its location so she concentrates to locate object. She nimbly darts through traffic, quickly getting the feel of hovering in the air, embolden with the knowledge that she has the ability to slow her fall if she gets knocked off this thing. With no ping on her quarry, she points to them and calls out: "The knave of hearts, he stole some tarts," and feels the tickle of a feather on her shoulder. The figure falls in hysterics, off their soar board, down to the street below. Berlyn considers slowing their fall, maybe just enough so they won't die.
Bloody Spear soars up near Berlyn, laughing at the joke, "Hah, my, I didn't take you for being so brutal. How's about this one!"Bloody Spear lifts her left arm and out pops something like hand crossbow. She fires several shots at the riders ahead of the two ladies, a few of the shots hitting their mark on a peculiar rider. Bloody Spear is about to celebrate until she sees the cloaked figure on the soarsled turn his head to look at the girls. He unfurls his cloak, revealing heavy leather armor beneath which displayed no damage from Bloody Spear's assault.
"Damn, tricky ones,"she mutters under her breath, just barely loud enough for anyone to hear.

(Taking some time off for mental health; been having a lot of bad days lately. Will likely still try to update when able, but I can't promise consistency at this moment. Sorry for any delays. Thanks for understanding.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sorry to hear that, Robert! I hope all is well soon.
Lily looks around, surveying everything with a grim smile. "Might as well take out the single ones while we can. No sense in focusing on the main target only to get blind-sided by one of them." She spots the armored fellow. "Like that one, right there." She points her white, ash cane at the apparent leader of the group and fires off a blast of greenish, blue energy towards the leader!
As they approach the leader; Emanuel makes sure to nudge several of the enemy flyers into rooftops, to put them down while hopefully not killing them. The final one was a violent crash, and when the body limply rolls through the rooftop cafe; Emanuel simply looks away and shakes his head. He quietly says to himself; "Should have chosen a different path." A stern look crosses his face as he guides the vehicle towards their target.
(Oh! Don't forget, you can just auto hit or auto fail your attacks and spells!)
Bloody Spear lets out a whistle watching several of the combatants roll down the rooftops as Emanuel leaves them little room. It does seem that a few helpful wizards were standing by, casting feather fall. Of course, such aide costs money. Perhaps these charlatans would end up in jail given their less than savory appearance.
"Guess this guy is the boss, huh," the warforged flies toward the criminal. She locks weapons with the guy, but they seem pretty evenly matched. Her longsword clashes with the shaft of his flail. You can hear her laughing. She almost seems to be enjoying this too much. "Haha! Wow, you were in the war, weren't you? What battalion?"
"I'm one of the original emerald soldiers," the shady guy grins, "what's it to a pile of rocks like you!"
CLANG!
"I fought for Karrnath you know!"She smirks, "I know all your moves."
