Cordelia is more excited than weirded out. This is the result of being an earthling on a magical adventure through time and space, probably.
She quickly puts a hand on the bird, eager to learn more.

"Oh, there is one last thing," Fiorello says as you form a chain of hands. "Try not to resist. This might feel a bit... uncomfortable, but do your best to let it all in."
(If you're suspicious, then I need you to make a WIS saving throw! If you trust the owl (or if you rolled less than a 12) then count yourself as willing and read the following:)
You're five years old. You burst out of the woods with a happy shriek as a keening roar sounds overhead. You're running up a steep hill as fast as your tiny legs will carry you, and you crest it just as an enormous creature gusts by twenty feet over your head. It is a brilliant gold, and the fire of its passing knocks you flat and drives the breath from your lungs even as a manic grin plasters your face.
You're sixteen and a few strands of your long white hair are plastered against the sweat of your forehead. You hold your tinkerer's tools lightly and your lips are tightly pressed as you place the final touches on an arcane energy core. It sputters to life, then implodes with a bright blue whumph. You taste copper, gagging as the room fills with smoke, and you smack the table in frustration.
You're twenty-five and still very young for an eladrin. You pilot your steam skipper with greater skill than anyone ever has. You know that, deep in your giddy heart, this is the happiest you could ever, ever be. You fly for hours, for days, for years... You learn the secrets of these islands in the air with a surer understanding than the elders said could be, would be possible. What's tying you to your lonely little island? There's a whole plane of existence out there, and you could see it all...
"That's enough, owl. Enough."
And the memories fade away.
(Those of you who experienced this rush of Tæsn's memories are now proficient with air vehicles! (Specifically, steam skippers!))
Cordelia Luna lets go of Fiorello and expertly climbs onto the steam skipper. Duchess climbs into Cordelia's poncho and seems ready to clutch for dear life, making Cordelia look like she has a strange growth on her chest. She doesn't say anything, but she stares daggers at anyone who takes their time getting on with it.

(Good initiative, Cordelia! Three mechs walk up to those of you who have medals on your chests: Luna, Perspicacious, and Tony. I just need you all to determine who will be in each craft, who will take each pilot's chair, and who will be in each gunner position. The steam skippers are: ArielPilot/Gunner: Tæsn BrutusPilot: ______ Gunner: ______ CaspianPilot: ______ Gunner: ______ DuncanPilot: Cordelia Gunner: ______)
Amaruve accepts the wisdom, experience, and memories, trusting easily in this situation, where action is needed, time is of the essence, and the strong of heart step forward to act.
His connection to Gaia felt weakened as he approached this mechanical suit, but he felt some guidance to use his magic in the gunner's seat. He tried to take her guidance as he took in the surroundings... (Perception: (Unable to parse dice roll.)20) but she wasn't able to help, or was it him? His senses were still sharp.
He helps Prespicacious into Caspian and shifts again with the Novascope's Gift into a Baboon.
Perspicacious only protests a little as Amaruve pushes her into the pilot seat. “Okay, okay, fine, you’re right.” She takes her seat in Caspian and lets the memories wash over her.
Amaruve, you derive your druidic power from Gaia, but there seems to be some kind of veil separating you from her influence in this place. You are able to draw from her enough to perform most of your magicks, but her guidance is lost to you for the time being. Oddly enough, you seem to be shifting more easily now, and your various bestial forms are much less bear-like in appearance than they usually are.
Four steam-powered golems lumber across the grass of the Ranch. Paired in your darkened cockpits, you sit strapped into soft leather seats surrounded by glass, brass, and steel. Dipping into the immersive memories provided by Taesn, you understand the purpose of every dial, crank, and lever. Nevertheless, no one would think less of you for a sick feeling of lightheadedness...
Those of you in the Pilot’s chairs (Perspicacious, Tony, and Cordelia), you see your skipper’s name plate embossed in rough-hewn iron in between the two control bars. When you grab them, you feel a presence in the back of your minds- the consciousness of the ships. They aren’t melding with your thoughts, but you share an innate awareness of one another.
The gunners (Amaruve, Jean, and Kyo) each have a slightly different console. Jean, your weapon is a large harpoon complete with trigger and simple targeting system. Kyo, you have only a large glass bubble, which you know will show a radar-like display of points of interest surrounding the craft. Amaruve… You see nothing except a metal bar connected to a wrapped copper cable. It’s somewhat too large for your hands, but it might fit neatly into the jaws of a baboon…
A small jagged chunk of onyx sits cradled in the front of each craft. It alights with a soft blue glow and you hear the voice of Fiorello emit from it. “The trail is growing cold. Let’s be off!” As all of the steam skippers are facing one another, you see the silver spectral hand appear in from of Fiorello’s and Taesn’s craft. It spins for a moment, then points decidedly upwards. The first light of dawn (which is a directionless, burning rose-gold) has begun to lighten the sky. Ariel (the lead skipper) explodes in a riot of steam and leaps into the air.
(Your goal is to track down the kidnappers. The plane of Air in this reality is comprised of an effectively infinite space filled with floating landmasses. These vary in size ranging from small islets to enormous continents. Your only means of tracking the kidnappers is Fiorello, who (surprise!) is a knowledge domain cleric. Our pilots can perform basic mobility without rolling, but fancy moves will require a Dex roll with your vehicle proficiency; I'll ask you to roll "Maneuvers" when it comes up.
Gunners each have their own means of attack. Jean has a badass harpoon gun (I'll send you the stats, Rivina), Kyo and Amaruve- I'll let you know what you can do. You all have a whole world that you can explore here- feel free to conjure islands into existence. Your crafts are "skippers", meaning they can only fly for about an hour at a time. They have to rest briefly on an island. Describe the island you see and land on, and the encounters I've built out will take place there.
Final point: JCandD will be filling in for me here and there for DM duties some of this week and next. Don't be weirded out if he takes the reins!
**what should i roll to use my radar bubble to sort of scan the area?**
Perception or Investigation, just as if you were out and about on your feet! You have advantage on those rolls, as well as on arcana, nature, and survival checks.
Amaruve sits uncomfortably in the chair and glowers at the coil in front of him. He slowly pokes the tube and a sustained beam of lightning reaches out to touch his finger. It doesnt hurt but he pulls his hand away with a start.
He looks around nervously out the window and braces himself against the walls with gritted teeth as the skipper explodes into the air. Amaruve's screech is brief, but audible. He breathes heavy, but gets his nerves under control. Resolute, he grips the coil and watches for threats.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kyo sits in his seat and uses the controls on the side to raise his chair up so he could see over his crystal ball display. He waves his hands over the sphere expertly, drawing on his new memories to use it to search the area for any other flying crafts or creatures.
