Perspicacious waited for the first sign of something coming out of the fog. Seeing the last pirate burst out, she let's the arrow loose. (See above post for the rolls)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
If that sucker emerging from the fog risked opportunity (or was oblivious to the potential threat) Amaruve will strike, biting 17 for 5 piercing damage and 4 poison (DC 11 Con for half) headless of the potential damage to himself.
(So Perspicacious and Jean may focus on the barrel monster)
"Beshaba's nipples!" Jean swore, invoking the Goddess of Bad Luck. She saw the 'pirate' charging forth at her and decided to do the same as the last pirate, they'd have to deal with the big thing, but it would not do to let the minions run around and possibly sabotage the group.
Jean's sword cleaves the second construct just one heartbeat before it explodes. Its surface bubbles with heat as the blade completes the job started by Cordelia's bolt. It falls quivering to the ground with a messysplort, never to move again.
The giant/tripod/puppetmaster homunculus is another story entirely. The crowd cheers wildly as the tripod begins to step through the fog toward the main contingent of the party. The hobgoblin 50ft to its right is of no interest to it. Roughly 10ft of each of its three visible tentacles are exposed before they enter the fog cloud below it.
(Amaruve- the small construct (if I have your positions right) would not have invoked an opp attack. HOWEVER, the walking tripod legs sure as hell do. Perspicacious, because Jean is ahead of you in the turn order, and she took out the little bugger, let's just say that you aim for a tripod leg, instead.)
Amaruve reflexively snaps its horrifying fangs at the passing leg of the tripod. It isn't nearly so hot as the smaller construct, though it does feel much tougher to pierce its "hide". It's made of stern stuff, and though Amaruve's jaws and poison do considerable (13) damage, the tentacle continues to bear weight.
Con save (poison): 23
Perspicacious fires an arrow, inflicting terrible (13) damage on a second appendage.

**it's my turn now, right?
Gordra, more dead then alive afrer being hit by the second magic missile, weighs his options. "It's been a long time since I've had to do this, let's see if I still have it me." and he clears his throat and heads out of the barrel.
** I'd like to try my fire breath at the tripod thing. DEX DC 9, half damage on success) for 5 Fire Damage
(Dex is not the tripod's area of expertise, and you've found the homunculus' weakness, Gordra)
Gordra, beaten, bruised, and clinging to consciousness, steps from the barrel and opens his jaws. From deep within his chest, he feels the stirring of an ancient power...
The lower audience is cheering madly. The ida-ke is the largest yet seen in the area, and its illusions were very droll, indeed. In the largest of the upper boxes lining the festival area, Mordrin vel'Epo looks upon the brutality below with a forced smile. He is reasonably handsome and very well dressed, though he looks incredibly uncomfortable. His black silk finery is well cut and fashionable, but he sits in it as though he would rather be wearing anything else (and sitting anywhere else).
Standing next to him at the railing, padded seat long abandoned, is another young noble. He wears gold and green, and he is all but jumping in his excitement. "I say! I say THAT'S a proper monster you've created, Mordrin!" Just then, in the arena below, a portly older man stumbles out of the barrel. He appears to mutters something to himself (which is of course inaudible from the top box), and then he opens his mouth wide. The golden young man turns with glee plastered across his face. "And here you were so nervous. Why, I can't imagine that ANYTHING could topple that creat-"
Without warning, the portly man spews fire from his open mouth. The tripod's two nearest limbs are caught in the blaze, and they alight instantly. The barrel encasing the ida-ke's main body ignites like a torch, and a horrible squeal rocks through the arena, forcing everyone in attendance to clap their hands over their ears. Mordrin bolts upright "That was flame breath," Mordrin thinks, "And they have definitely acquired some form of shapeshifter, as well. My, my, Thunder Steins... where did you find this power?"
Two of the ida-ke's limbs, previously damaged by the fighting woman and that monstrous shadow in the fog, crumble to ash. Slowly, ponderously, the beast collapses beneath its own weight and, still burning, it crashes to the ground. Its mass squelches outward in a burning spray, stopping just shy of the inner barrier protecting the commonfolk below.
(Gordra, you actually dealt 10 fire damage to the beast, and it lies in ruin on the ground. The fog is beginning to dissipate, and all of your enemies have been defeated (or so it would seem). There is an unconscious and arrow-struck woman (formerly Perspicacious' body) on the ground just outside the thinning border of the fog.)
As the fog begins to clear. They audience chants, "Rog! Rog! Rog! Rog! Rog!"
(End of DM description of action. You all are technically still in initiative, but there are no other combatants beyond yourselves. The crowd doesn't appear to think this fight is over, though...)
Gordra drops to his knees, smoke still streaming from his mouth and nose. After a few good hearty coughs to clear his throat he looks round at the chanting crowd. "This doesn't bode well for us."

Cordelia isn't sure what to think. She keeps her bow at the ready and comes near Perspicacious. She leans into the tiefling and whispers, "I don't think Rog is one of us..."
If some new enemy makes itself abundantly clear, Cordelia will use her reaction to fire an arrow at it.

Perspicacious watches as the barrel full of tentacles crashes to the ground in Gordra's fire. She lets out a cheer and raises her arms and hands in the air to celebrate. "Well done, Gordra! Didn't know you still had it in you," she shouts, though she's not sure if her old friend can hear her above the noise of the crowd. Speaking of that noise, it hasn't died down. And she notices as she lowers her arms the dual nature of her hands, flitting between her own, and the hobgoblin she inhabits. Oh. Oh dear.
When Cordelia comes near, Perspicacious has already devised a plan. She drops her bow, and carefully moves to punch Cordelia, but stops before actually hitting her. Then in a voice loud enough for Cordellia to hear, but hopefully no one else, Perspicacious says, "Hit me!"
If Cordelia follows through, either with an actual hit or a feigned one, I will crumple to the ground and play dead. Performance, if needed: 21
Cordelia blinks, shrugs, and punches Perspicacious as requested. She would have felt guilty, but this tiefling had been a source of negativity for the professor in the past. Cordelia did her best not to smirk.

Amaruve emerges from the thinning fog as his form shrinks down back to his natural state... Or what is currently his natural state. He walks on four legs and approaches the fallen Thunderstein. He coughs up a single good berry (if he can access his equipment) and feeds it to the fallen body healing 1 hit point, before quickly assessing his allies wounds and mending the most critical injuries with a Healing Word (or in this case, a healing growl). Healing Gordra for 6 and Perspicacious for 5.
With only one spell slot remaining he coughs up two of his four remaining berries and offers them to Gordra.
(Assuming Perspicacious collapse takes us out of initiative. Otherwise that's three actions, and he only does the first.)
Gordra stands up after feeling Amaruve's healing words wash over him. He plucks one of the berries out of his hand and tucks it into a coat pocket. "Thank you Mr. Al'Ameth. I'm feeling much better. Are we quite done here? I have about a hundred things I need to write down before I forget them." and Gordra will start walking the perimeter of the field, banging his cane here and there looking for a door.
(Don't worry professor: you don't get a chance to start looking for the exit)
Perspicacious, ever the mastermind, correctly determines that the "Rog" the audience is cheering for is, in fact, herself. She whispers her directive to Cordelia, who rears back and slugs her without hesitation, dealing 2 bludgeoning damage.
(Edit: In light of Perspicacious' great performance roll-) From the audience's perspective, Rog drops like a sack of potatoes after a blow from Cordelia; apparently the mighty ranger isn't quite the legend he's cracked up to be. The cheers and chanting pause for a moment, then redouble wildly to the sound of "thunder-STEINS! thunder-STEINS! thunder-STEINS!"
High in his top box, Modrin smirks and turns to his companion, who is sputtering and cursing at the sudden turn of events. Modrin lifts a small blue stone in front of his lips and mutters, "Collect our champions... and the fainting hobgoblin, as well. See that they are tended to, and bring them to the Duke's chambers in... one hour." Modrin looks at his gold and green companion, who at that moment is violently ripping a wager ticket into smaller and smaller shreds. Modrin smiles again, "Better make that two hours, and I will visit them in the medica, alone, in thirty minutes."
What passes for medical personnel in this place descend upon the field. They seem surprised at the party's generally hale state following Amaruve's administrations. The unconscious but stabilized woman is loaded onto a simple stretcher, and the group is led out of the arena space with a symphony of cheers accompanying their departure. One of the attendants speaks to group as he begins to rush them into a tunnel cut into the wall, "I don't know how you did it, but that was a hell of a fight!" Streams of a fizzy white wine poured from bottles pour downward from smiling, capering fans as you leave the arena and the attendant says, "The Duke probably ain't happy, but... DAMN. Hell of a fight.""
