After Amaruve, Perspicacious, and Cordelia move (assuming it's still alive), the Wyvern roars and shifts its attention to the distracted, raging bear. It pounces (technically away from both Jean and Perspicacious), biting down and lashing its tail stinger at Amaruve in a vicious attack.

Bite: 24 Damage: 16 piercing

Stinger: 10 Damage: 11 piercing + 23 poison damage (DC 15 CON save for half poison damage)

Amaruve feels the burning sensation as the Wyvern's poison enters his body (Con: 10) like fire coursing through his veins (all halved for 29 total damage)

Cordelia pauses a moment to admire the skeletal snake, then fires an arrow from under an air duct at the Wyvern, hitting 25 for 19.

She then darts through the maze of vents, disappearing from sight again (Stealth: 16).

Jean, irritated by the Pretender's tricks, decided to try out her trump card. She thrust her sword into the air and called out "By the Knowledge and Power of the Intervexus Institute!"

Cordelia's arrow strikes the back of the bone naga's skull, sending spiderwebbing cracks along its surface. (Concentration check: 13)

The naga continues to maintain control of the swirling storm overhead. 

Jean's blade burns with a violet light as she raises it aloft. As she cries out, a trio of figures very much resembling Vasht appear in the space between the two monsters. They are less overtly muscular, and somewhat translucent with purplish skin. They pause to consider themselves for only an instant, however, before they strike. (Mechanically, Jean has cast Spirit Guardians).

Damage: 16 radiant damage (2x damage vs naga)

The Wyvern and Naga each suffer some harm, and their movements are slowed by the shining forms of the Vasht-like creatures. With this, the Naga's concentration is broken, and the clouds overhead cease their swirling.

The portal is also assaulted by one of the creatures. It pours light into the surface of the black hole, causing it to bubble and shrink a bit further...

Amaruve tries to understand the nature of the portal, (Survival?: 26). Is it solid enough to rip through with his claws? Or is it uniquely susceptible to Divine powers?

(With a 26 and a crit success, you realize the following:

• Touching the surface of the black mass would be deadly/damaging
• Magical damage of any type would likely harm it
• It is shrinking with every monster that exits it, and the monsters that leave it are less powerful the smaller it gets
• It occurs to you that neither the wyvern nor the bone naga have addressed you directly, and that you haven't noticed any kind of doubling effect in either of them. The Pretender might be/be inside the goop!)

Amaruve roars threateningly at the portal but doesn't strike it, rather he inches away from the menacing goop.

Gordra conjures up a spectral clock in front of himself and with a wave of his hands attempts to slow the passage of time for the Wyvern, and Naga, (and the Portal?).

(Interesting. Mechanics aside-do you think Gordra used this spell in his research, or have his studies post-accident resulted in this new application of his magic?)

The wyvern and the Naga both slow considerably. You have no way of knowing whether your spell affected the portal...

The portal bubbles once again. It is now only a few feet wide, but slithering from it's surface is a Fire Snake!

 ...which immediately begins moving at a reduced speed thanks to Gordra's spell! It slowly opens its jaws and moves toward Jean

Working in concert with the fire snake, the Bone Naga's eye sockets shine with a sickly green light and it turns to face Jean. It casts Hold Person! (DC 12 WIS save, Rivina!)

Spirit Guardians damage: 4 x2 (Wis save for 1/2 damage: 15)

The party is up! You have a wyvern and a bone naga that are still up and kicking, as well as a fire snake fresh from the pits. All three are debuffed by Gordra's slow

The black portal bubbles and simmers, then shrinks to just a foot across.

(Roll to determine whether Hold Person was cast on this turn or the next passed; roll to escape effects of slow spell failed)

**I think that during his last days as a mouse he had to really struggle to draw power from his draconic ancestors, using it in new ways he didn't even know he could.  And i feel like he didn't even know he was going to do it until it happened. He never really used his meager magical abilities in his research**

Amaruve feels his connection with Gaia and his spirits are lifted. He recovers 7 hit points (Combat Wild Shape), then Recklessly mauls the Naga, Slashing 27 for 19 and biting 19 for 10 piercing.

(Attacks against Amaruve continue to have advantage. If the Bone Naga falls he turns to the Wyvern)

(Pretty amazing- with 29 HP remaining you dealt 29 points of damage!)

The Bone Naga turned too slowly to see this final death approaching it. Amaruve crashes into the undead monster like a fuzzy boulder of claws and teeth. In seconds, the creature is reduced to a pile of inert yellow bones, which then melt into the same black goop of the portal. This new puddle of goo bleeds into the original portal, increasing its diameter by 5ft!
