The orc flashes Torvil a toothy grin, one gold tooth sparkling between bright white mini-tusks. Even as he does, he slides to the side, making room for the dwarf to pull up a chair. "Easy come, easy go," he says in a deep, rich voice, groaning softly when one of the humans, a thin squirrelie looking fellow with a pencil mustache rolled a 4 and 3, taking the pot.
The dealer passes the dice to Torvil. There are two places to lay bets before each player, a silver shield or a beholder mark the wagers. The shield bet is won with a 7 or 11 (2d6), the beholder is won with a 2 or 12. Players place their bets and one player rolls until they get 2, 7, 11, or 12. The ante is 1 GP. After each round players can add to their wagers (SP are acceptable after the initial gold piece ante).
***Torvil: place your bet (shield = pass line - beholder is the "don't" in craps terms. Your choice on how to play - you can roll a d20, add DEX, and proficiency bonus if you have the dice set skill vs a straight DC, OR you can roll a pair of 6s (with ADV if you have the dice set skill). Let me know how you want to play and let's get to gambling!***

For I am Death and I won't break. I got a life I've got to take. When will it end, this sufferin' of late? It was nice to know you. __The Pretty Reckless
***Important note: the beholder bet 2 or 12 pays 25 to 1, the shield bet 7 or 11 pays 2 to 1.***

Kitsune crosses her arms, stepping up just behind Torvil's shoulder as he takes his seat at the table. Her silver eyes dart around the table, quickly calculating the insurmountable odds that Torvil faces.
A seven or eleven yields an approximate twenty-two percent probability on any given throw, she calculates silently, her gaze tracking the weight of the pair of dice in Torvil's hand. The shield pays two to one. Standard, sustainable house margins. But that beholder trap...a two or twelve is a measly five point five percent chance. A twenty-five to one payout sounds glamorous to a dwarf with a full coin purse, but statistically, it's a slow financial bleed.
She catches the eye of the orc in the spectacular purple hat, offering him a polite, entirely clinical nod before looking down at Torvil. A faint, teasing smirk plays on her lips as she leans in slightly, speaking just loud enough to be heard over the rattling of the dice.
"Don't let the shiny gold tooth blind you to the statistics, Torvil" she murmurs dry gently. "Remember, choose wisely, or you could quickly be walking back to the rooms in nothing but your underwear!"

Torvil’s background is that of a simple farmer in the past, he has no vast experience in games of luck or skill, he just has a fascination with the game going on before him and the rush of narrowly averting death. He picks up the dice and places down a gold piece on the shield. He turns and smiles at Kitsune, then makes a large show of the shaking of the dice and lets them roll…
Die 1 : 1
Die 2 : 4
He frowns at the result, slamming his hands down on the table, looking up at the orc with flared nostrils. The dice shake when he slams his hands on the table and he lets out a little moan.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
A few more coins fly onto the table, mostly silver clattering onto beholder shaped mats. With no 2, 7, 11, or 12 thrown, Torvil keeps the dice. The dealer sweeps a long, thin stick with a hooked end over the table, deftly flipping the dice over, ultimately returning them to the 4,1 and sliding them back to Torvil.
The boisterous, purple hat wearing orc dropped a small sack of coins on the table near Torvil's elbow. "I've got 15 gold in this sack against your 2 that you pass those dice before throwing another 5!" Glancing around you notice that this is not an uncommon event. The dealer runs the game, but it would seem that side action is also part of the action. As you decide, he deftly tugs the string, opening the pouch before neatly stacking the coins into groups of five.
Insight 10
The orc is getting into his cups and having a great time gambling. There is no indication of ill will or shady dealings, just a buzzed up orc throwing coin around in his fancy hat.
***Torvil's up. You have 1 GP on the shield. You have the option to add to it, anything from a SP to 10 GP is allowed. You also have the option to take the orc's side bet by placing 2 GP next to the coins he laid out.***

Last to know and first to be blamed...
As a free action, can I regret my life choices?
