Leif and Kora you hear a voice directly into your mind (in druidic), "Welcome son of Askr and daughter of Embla, what business do the children of Midgard have on these shores?"
Leif turns his head to the seated Kora. Had she heard it too? He then gasps and quickly surveys the nearby vicinity for two ancient stumps.
Whether or not stumps are present he draws his gaze back to the floating orbs and forms a reply in his mind. Our business is survival. Midgard is no more. Ragnarök has claimed both it and the All Father. We have escaped with the last children to find a new home.
(He gives it a second. If his thoughts were not read, he will reply his thoughts verbally.)
the silence itself tells a story. Where is the bird song, the movement of forest mammals beneath the leaves or amongst the branches? It is as if the forest is holding its breath.
Noticing the silence, Sólmyrkvirealizes that the strangers must be close. He tries to look relaxed, leaning on his staff, but his grip on the weapon tightens. His ears strain to hear any sound of the strangers' approach.
three orbs of floating light that seem to rise up from the forest floor before slowly weaving their way between the trees toward you all. They stop around twenty feet from where you stand....you see only that the lights suddenly pulse a little brighter and hear only what sounds like the low chitter of a forest creature.
As soon as Sólmyrkvi sees the orbs, he whispers, "What's this?" He casts Blade Ward on himself and moves toward Kora, trying to put himself between her and the lights. As he moves toward her, he simply says, "I'm here."
Sólmyrkvi is no longer leaning on his staff, but he holds it in one hand, resting the shaft on his shoulder. He doesn't want to seem hostile, but he wants to be ready in case the orbs attack somehow. At first, he thought that this was some spell, cast by the strangers ahead of their arrival, but when he hears the chittering noises from the orbs, his brow furrows. He wonders whether they've landed in some Fey realm, and these things are actually some of the local fauna.
Action: Cast a spell Blade Ward Movement: Move to stand so that he's next to Kora, 5-ft closer to the lights than she but off to her side so that he's not blocking her view of the lights. Basically, if they want to get to Kora, he wants them to have to go through him or at least move around him.
Concentration: Blade Ward, round 1 of 10 Whenever a creature makes an attack roll against you before the spell ends, the attacker subtracts 1d4 from the attack roll.
Leif turns to those not fluent in Druidic to translate into Common what has been discussed thus far. “These beings have greeted us as children of the firstborn humans, Askr and Embla. They asked what our business is here. I told them we escaped Ragnarök and are seeking to survive and find a new home.” Leif only gives a moment to let that sink in before continuing, “They have suffered loss as well and now they have asked, ‘what we will do, where will we all go, and something about if we have acorns’.”
Leif scrunches his nose pondering if these creatures eat acorns and are hungry or if it is a more philosophical inquiry regarding the wherewithal to bring about new life to this land.
He turns back to the orbs and chitters a new reply, “Our king will want to establish us in this land as we have no other. Can you guide us inland to fertile valleys with fresh water? A place where we may shelter from the elements and beasts that would prey upon us?”
Leif translates his new reply to his companions. He also looks to Kora to see if she wishes to entreat with the orbs. This was her meeting, after all.
He'll hold off acting until those with the most intel, ie Kora and Leif, either (i) let the party know what to do, (ii) launch into action themselves, or (iii) any of them are attacked, or (iv) suddenly 'go down' regardless of cause.
In this case, 'hold off acting' means Halp is readying the magic action of casting Shillelagh on his club if any of those things happen...

Leif a moment passes and then you hear the voice again, "Ragnarök has taken much from all of us." the voice is light and friendly, almost childlike.
Sólmyrkvi you ready yourself but no attack comes. Instead you hear more of the chittering as the strangers continue to speak to the two druids.
"We are wondering what you will do? Where will you all go?"
"...and do you have acorns?" a second female voice chimes in and for a moment one of the lights shines bright red.
"We are not wondering that!"
"...But!"
"No!"
"We are wondering what you will do? Where will you all go?" the first voice repeats sounding slightly irritated.
