“Yes I believe that is the case with undead. Zombies in particular.” Dirk chews two good berries, spitting a little unto the corner of a rich purple kerchief and swabbing his bruised face where the zombie clubbed him.
”I’m ready to continue searching the lower areas when everyone else is.”

Hearing Ash's comment about a whole troop of them Marin can't help but pipe up and add, "...or a whole ship's crew..."
He then goes and retrieves his dagger. (if needed?)
And when Dirk states his readiness to continue Marin quickly asks while glancing around at everyone to see their reactions to his question, "Anyone seriously hurt or are we all ready to press on?"

"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Onji shouts up, "Seeing how I am already soaking wet, I will dive down to the hold to look at what fell and created the holes I am looking and shouting through. As diving alone is no fun, who volunteers to join me so they can retrieve my bloated drowned body?"
Onji walks to something sticking up so he can set his stuff down that is not in or under the actual water. Onji knows there is no actual dry shelf or ledge to put his stuff. Onji just looks for the best under the circumstances. Onji just grabs his dagger as he removes his armor et. al.
Seeing Irtos' reluctance to search the zombies Marin will first search one, checking any pockets or other items of clothing or pouches or backpacks and things of that like etc. etc. that might contain anything of interest:

OOC: killing a bit of time waiting for our turn so the DM can tell us to dive and search the hold
Onji with a bright smile grins and says, Wonderful Dirk, It is great that I we are partnered for this dive of doom, I do feel so much better...I am not found of water, let alone diving...but it appears duty & and honor calls us beyond my personal feelings to the depths of the ship....Once we are both ready, I think one at a time goes down, incase that hole...we are entering... ends up being smaller then it looks...due to some sharp & pointy debris we don't see."
Looking around Onji continues, "...or do you think we should just walk down the stairs as the ship wrights intended? Your choice, but I think we should go together incase someone or some thing is just waiting for us?...Personally I am more concerned there is debris that will snag and hold us vice any creatures....Once we are in the water I assume we either come to the stairs or the hole to breathe?....Lastly Dirk, do you know sign language? That might be a good way to communicate below."
Irtos, you find that the two small drawers in the desk hold a pouch containing 50 gp, a set of cartographer's tools and a dagger. It seems that the compass set in the desk's centre can also be pried free if you want it.
Marin, you search through the brine-covered remnants of clothing that the zombies wear but you don't find anything of value. Whatever they carried must have now long decayed and decomposed.
Onji and Dirk, as the cold water engulfs you, a strange undersea world is revealed. Colorful seaweed grows over the shattered hull, especially around the gaping hole in the stern of the ship. Tiny fish dart among hunks of debris and cargo. A heavy iron chest lies on the floor of the hold, directly beneath the hole it fell through.

Onji and Dirk, although the chest is heavy, you still manage to pull it up to the lower deck. Inside you find a pouch holding 55 gp and three turquoise stones (worth 10 gp each), as well as a pair of boots of elvenkind. Besides that, you also find a packet, carefully wrapped and sealed in waxed fabric.
Meanwhile, on the main deck, Irtos and Marin hear a distant, piercing screech. High above, a large silhouette circles the wreck, growing larger as it spirals down toward the ship.
A terrifying monster perches on the top of the crow’s nest, spreading its scraggly wings and screeching harshly. Its wings and legs resemble those of a mangy vulture, while its head, torso, and arms look almost human. It clutches a large bone like a club and flexes its talons. Peering into the empty nest, it lets out an ear-splitting shriek: "Treasure... my treasure... Who stoleeeeeeee my treasureeeee!"

Irtos asks, "Shouldn't we search this cabin now that the zombies have been dealt with? It was the captains cabin after all."
Onji shouts up, "Seeing how I am already soaking wet, I will dive down to the hold to look at what fell and created the holes I am looking and shouting through. As diving alone is no fun, who volunteers to join me so they can retrieve my bloated drowned body?"

While Onji prepares to search below, Irtos starts searching the captains cabin, or what's left of it, above.
