Dirk nods solemnly breaking his stillness, the water snake evaporates leaving a sand snake on the deck of the Compass Rose. “Sounds like the right idea.”
He gathers up his things and is ready to help anyone with getting underway.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."

"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
With the painting and the journal kept safe by Irtos, you make your way down to the boat. Dirk rows you back to the main island, the boat noticeably lighter now, and you reach Dragon's Rest just as the sun begins to set. One of the kobolds is waiting for you at the beach, jumping excitedly the moment the boat enters the small harbor. It seems your return has not gone unnoticed.
Dirk waves to the kobolds as he carefully maneuvers the boat alongside the dock or landing… he calls out, “Ho there ready to haul rope and help us disembark? Are you eager for news? Ever seen a harpy before?”
Dirk is feeling slightly nauseous, but trying to cover it with a smell of woodsmoke

The kobold help you to tie the boat to the deck and carefully holds the painting. "Mimpo thinks it's very pretty. Runara wants to speak to guests. Runara in library!"
He impatiently escorts you to the top of the path, leading you to the sturdy door of the entryway cut into the cliff face. Behind it lies a spacious library. Bookshelves line every wall, with three free-standing shelves positioned in the west half of the room. In the east half sits a table with two benches, writing implements, book stands, and glass-shielded lamps. Runara is there, a large tome open in front of her. When you arrive, she stands and approaches. "I am happy to see you come back..." she studies you for a moment, then her face turns somber. The kobold looks up and counts on his fingers twice, then his face falls as well. "But it appears that something has happened. Tell me what..."
With a sorrowful face Irtos answers, "When a harpy was attacking, Ash got swept overboard and pulled under the waves. We were not able to find him."
A bit more energetically she continues, "But on a better note, we may have found the source of the curse. We found the captains diary, It seems that as Aleitha was dying, she prayed to Orcus to be reunited with her husband. He thought that bringing this talisman made of their hair to her husband might end the curse. I think this painting might be a picture of Aleitha and her husband. So do you know who Aleitha's husband is? And where we can find him?"
Runara nods sadly. "I am sorry about your companion, we will pray for his soul. I remember Aleitha’s husband, Brastos, but he died many years ago. He was laid to rest in the graveyard atop the cliffs at the northern point of the island, northwest of here."
“It may settle restless spirits if this token were united with the grave. I for one would like to see more of this island. Perhaps after a meal if it’s not too inconvenient, I can only eat so many rations.” Dirks stomach loudly agrees.

Marin's stomach also makes a low growl as he realizes the last time he ate was on board the ship. And all the fighting had only made him hungrier.
"Yes, a brief respite and a chance to eat world be welcome before continuing on to the northern cliffs."

"I believe you might be right," Runara nods at Dirk at his suggestion. "Perhaps it would be best to visit the graveyard tomorrow at dawn."
At the mention of food, she chuckles softly and motions for the group to follow her to the building next to the library. It is the one with the long dining table and a small kitchen in one corner.
There, Tarak is busy finishing up dinner just as you walk in and take your seats beside the kobolds and the other human woman. Once everyone is seated, Tarak brings out bowls and tankards, pouring stew and handing it to you.
"It is good to see you back; Varnoth and I were getting worried,"he says, as the room's silence is finally broken by the chewing and slurping of the kobolds.
The human woman seated next to him nods. "Did you figure out what was causing the wrecks?"

Irtos comments, "I think we should bring back the painting as well. It's probably a painting of Aleitha and her husband."
She then goes and retrieves the painting from the first cabin she searched.
