Onji pulls his boomerang out from his belt with a hand covered in stirge guts. Taking an aimed bead as the Stirge#2 climbs to make another attack after missing him releases the boomerang. Onji prays the slime did not affect his release point.
"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Irtos tries again to toll the death of the stirge on Marin, the spell being more effective since it is now wounded. Once again the single chime of a dolorous bell rings out...
Action: Toll the Dead: DC 13 WIS save to avoid 6 necrotic damage
She then says a short prayer to heal herself.
Bonus Action: Healing Word to heal 7 HP, enough to get almost to full health.
Finding it easier to attack the stirges attached to his allies Marin hopes to quickly dispatch them, freeing up his allies to return the favor.

Once the sounds of combat die out, the mushroom folk return to the cavern. "Adventurers still alive," you all hear the voices in your minds. "Please, come to rest." You sense that the voice now sounds more polite and not as hostile as before. The mushroom folk then beckon you to a new chamber.
Six clusters of giant mushrooms are arranged in a rough circle around this cavern. Several human-sized mushroom folk stand in a circle in the center of the cave. The smell of sulfur is stronger here. Six of the mushroom folk appear to be adults. Two of them are tending to the other four, who are standing shock-still in what looks like trance. All of these myconids look ill and this place seems to be used for resting and recovering. "We thank you for helping fight the blood-thirsty animals," you hear a different voice and the two unfamiliar myconids sway as if in agreement. "Recover your strength here..."
Onji tells his party mates that a short rest will do him good. Onji goes off to a side and sits cross legged and does some breathing and tai chi fro the sitting position.
Marin agrees with Onji that some time spent to recoup would also prove beneficial.
(ooc: spent 1 HD to heal 4 hp)

Onji very innocently and honestly asks, is it possible to recycle these dead creatures as part of the circle of life and feed them to something or someone? Can the local cave population recycle them as compost for their own gardens?
Marin decides to ask a few questions concerning the lizard guards.
"Are they humanoid lizards or just big lizards guarding something?"
"If humanoid, do they have armor and weapons?"
"If yes, what kind of armor and weapons?"
"How many guards are there?"
"What are they guarding?"
"Will they see us coming or is there an alternative route that we can use to remain unseen until very near?"

The mushroom-folk nod in response to Onji. "Yes, everything gets used for the benefit of the colony..."
The voices in your heads seem to go quiet at Marin's words for a bit before eventually admitting. "We don't know... what they guard. How many..... They look like little dragons made of smoke... There is only one way into that chamber... If you are ready, you can go nowww..."
Marin agrees, "That rest was sorely needed but now I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be."
