Alijurn stops as Dahme'dre asks her question, slowly turning to face her. "Finally someone asks what I think about the situation." Frustration flares in his eyes. "He is a local criminal, committed crimes in this area and the closest place of law is definitely in this city. We should deliver him here." The frustration fades a little. "Not to mention that we're still wanted by the nomad corps for a crime I did not commit."

"Cutting of his hand wouldn't be too much trouble right?" He stops to think.. "Then again I don't know the suitable punishment for doing this. Some places they cut of hands for stealing bread.. so I imagine that his crimes in addition to actually hiding from the police would be suitable, wouldn't you say?" The last question is asked more into the air than to anyone in particular.

And so, after much discussion, it was decided by our heroes to not cut off the hands of Melvin, and to instead attempt to turn him into the local authorities. Thankfully, due to the nature of the tradewalk, security is pretty tight. You manage to find some officers on their lunch. One, a human with a bushy mustache and the other a lizardfolk. They look up at you from their sandwiches as you approach, “... Afternoon. Something we can do for you?”
Alijurn steps forward and nods to each of the officers. "Officer... Officer... Sorry to interrupt you in your break, but we bring you a rather interesting criminal." He gestures back towards Melvin. "He was earlier seen causing quite the problems for a local barkeep, nothing to serious, they refused to pay their tab and started quite the brawl when the bouncer wouldn't let them leave without paying it first." A quick glance over at Mr. Honeyclaw. Before finishing his statement Aljurn gives both the officers a rather serious look. Avoiding the law enforcement entirely is quite the felony after all.
"The true crime.." Another look, this time with the fiery passion of law in his eyes, directed straight at Melvin. (Intimidation for the hell of it:7) "... is however the fact that when the shadows came to assess the crime scene they were not able to detect this man. I am sorry to barge into your territory and start enforcing laws myself officers, but we just couldn't let this violation of the law go unpunished. This man.. is somehow avoiding the shadows entirely and even though he uses it only to get away with petty crime like running from your tab, the act of tampering with the system this way is much more serious."

Melvin is not meeting your gaze, meanwhile the mustachioed officer wipes his mouth with a napkin, “I see. Those are serious implications indeed. Normally, we don’t operate on sheer hearsay. However, the charges put forth, along with the tattoo on that man’s hand are in line with several other cases that have been popping up lately. We’ll take him in for questioning. The mustachioed officer strokes his stache and nods along, “Yes, I thought you had the demeanor of a fellow man of the law. We appreciate your assistance in the matter.” He goes for the handcuffs, “Perhaps we can... hmm... er... How does one remove these? They’re completely sealed.”
"I am always on the side of the law, officers, I used to be a sergeant in the guard back home." The dragonborn pats his pockets. I believe that you are in possession of the key-gloves, Dahme'dre. Could you open them so the officers can put their own to use?" Noticing the confusion regarding the magical properties of the gloves he continues. "No locks to pick really makes for a great pair of cuffs."
Sunny gently lifts Melvin's chin and gazes deeply into his eyes. "Listen to me. You may not survive prison. Honestly, I would be shocked if you did. But I'll be waiting for you when you get out. We have many a town to raze togeth-" he looks up sharply as the two officers and coughs sharply. "Many a CHARITY FUND to raise together, is what I meant to say."
He shoves Melvin roughly toward the officers and wipes away a single tear. He claps his hands together, rubbing them vigorously. "Okay! OUR rights and freedom haven't been stripped away today! What's next?"
The two officers have a good hold on him. Assuming that you release the cuffs, they’ll slap their own, mundane cuffs on him and carry him off. You hear him faintly whimpering, “Please take me to prison, those people are maniacs. They were gonna cut off my hands!”

Meanwhile, if the DM may interject to summarize what you’ve learned. The Port Masons currently have a front in the Guildmaster district, operating as a legitimate business for whatever reason. The fact that these gangs seem immune to the shadow’s vision is concerning. Melvin was thankfully able to provide information. As it stands, this is your only real lead on the Port Masons. However, Wick is still missing, he hasn’t been seen in about a week. Furthermore, Thuluku is still missing as well.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ashe thinks about the disappearances of these useful allies. Thuluku's absence could be explained by the jump into the marble, she could merely be on her own somewhere else... Though it didn't explain how Ashe and her close allies all ended up nearby one another. Wick's disappearance came from his interactions with that Kirkgirm fellow - the ruler of Everywhere.
What sort of magic would it take to teleport specific people to a specific place and scatter everyone else wherever? How powerful would the spellcaster have to be? (Arcana: 7)
Kirkgrim, being the ruler of Everywhere, is he capable of something like that? Does Ashe know anything about him or recall any stories relating to his power or any artifacts he might have? (History: 7)
