The man slowly comes to, a very confused look dawning on him as he sees a Dragon Man, Spider Elf Lady, Badger Guy, and Human. He blinks a little, “Ey, what a minute, you two!” He tries to raise a pair of shackled hands toward Dee and Sunny, “You lot are the ones from the bar! What business you got messin’ with us!” He pauses for a beat, looking at you and then to the manacles, “And you locked me up! Why on any plane would I help you lot with info about our organization! Who do you think you are!” 

He... doesn’t seem to understand the gravity of the situation.

"My, my, I wonder what he might look like without a mouth. Perhaps several more eyes here and here," Ashe points to several parts of the guy's face with a grin. She pulls out a scalpel from her alchemists kit and uses prestidigitation to cause it to glow a dark, red color. "Subject doesn't intend to speak, and so I see no need for a mouth," she explains to her comrades before looking back to the prisoner, "Are you allergic to transformation magic? Oh don't tell me! I do love a surprise."

The man seems to be very visibly uncomfortable with the events that are transpiring, if for no other reason than the fact that a woman is poking him with a sharp object, “Hold on. Hold on. HOLD ON!” Assuming Ashe backs up for a moment, the man breathes heavily, “Alright, alright, fine! Bah... I should’ve know the tattoos were a stupid idea. Makes things too easy! We get sloppy...” He sighs, “Alright... slower for me this time, what do you want to know?”

"So the specimen chooses to speak. How wise," Ashe indeed steps back and allows him to gather himself. She casually points at him with her scalpel and questions, "How about a name? Oh, and do tell us what you do with the Dock Masons. Just another lackey or...?"

The man, who you now suspect to be a half-orc based on Ashe’s examination, glances around the room for a moment and coughs, “Uh... well my name’s Melvin, Mel for short, friends call me ‘Mel, the Bruiser,” After a moment of intense stares, he sighs defeatedly, “Alright, no one calls me that, but I’m working on getting it going... As for the ‘Dock Masons,’ I don’t know who’s been telling you that’s our name but it’s the PORT Masons, we ain’t boatswains. We’re a right and proper organization! And I wouldn’t say I’m a lackey, I’d like to think I’m pretty valuable to some people.” He looks pleased with himself for a moment before remembering where he is, “I mean, not that valuable! Most probably don’t even know who I am! Think I heard a guy call me ‘Kevin’ once, don’t even know how he got a K outta my name!” He laughs nervously with some concerned glances.

"Mr. Bruiser it would be wise of you to stay on topic," Ashe waves the scalpel around as she gestures, "though I appreciate your forthcoming."

He gulps a bit, “Right. So, to answer your question... no... not particularly important. Just been there a while, so I got some influence over the newbies...”

 "I have good news Melvin. You're on the brink of moving up in the organization." Dahme'dre says, "You see, your boss, Mr. Terff himself, has taken an interest in our well being. My friends and I have slipped through the cracks after the big I'lar job." She tells him, "Maybe you've heard rumors. Anyway, you just happen to have fallen right into the middle of the action, I'm afraid the handcuffs are a necessary precaution. It can be difficult to tell who you can trust even in the organization."

Dahme'dre obviously feels more comfortable having gained a degree of control on the situation.

Sunny whispers to Dahme'dre (pretty loudly, he's a big guy, after all), "I feel like I should stab him now if I'm going to do it. I still have all these cuts all over me from before and he barely has ANY."

 Melvin looks at you concernedly, stammering, “I-I haven’t heard much about that, but I mean really, I’m not in a position to get all uppity about those details. I’m sure I can just take your word for it on that...” Melvin tries to wiggle back a little bit from you. It’s clear that he doesn’t trust you, but hey, fear goes far.

Do we have an understanding, ’Sunny?’” He practically growls that last part before continuing, “We will not be digging ourselves into a further pit than we already have by having this man here in the first place.”

Sunny nods at Melvin's protestations. "You," he says after some consideration, "Are absolutely right." He looks a little bummed out about it, though. "Are you sure you didn't stab me a little bit?" he asks hopefully.

Sunny cocks his head as Alijurn addresses him; he looks deeply confused. "Hmm. Okay, then." He turns back to Mel and loudly whispers again. "Listen, Kevin: I don't know these guys very well, but this is probably my last shot at a paying gig in this town and I don't want to mess up. I bet if you help them get to the Porch Mansions they'll let you go. You said you are the leader of the 'noo-beez'?" He thinks for a moment, then looks up at Alijurn. "Maybe... one of us..." (the strain of thinking like this is overwhelming) "One of us could... pretend to be a... new recruit?"

His eyes dart between Ashe, Dahme'dre, Alijurn, and Mel, desperately seeking confirmation. Did that make any sense?!

At Sunny’s “stab just a bit question,” Melvin intensely shakes his head ‘No.’

As Sunny looks to the others for confirmation, Melvin glances to each of them, carefully saying nothing that could get his head chopped, blasted, or delicately scalpeled off.

 "So, now we're all friendly." Dahme'dre says, "Now, dear Melvin." She waves her hand producing a clear depiction of the city mapped on the smooth stone surface of a nearby table. "Lets start with some directions." 

She gently questions him trying to ascertain the locations of the Port Masons' head quarters, Randall Terff, The Court of Harvest's Eve, and the Eladrin, Azalf Blackwake.

Melvin looks genuinely confused at some of what Dahme’dre says, “Court of the ‘arvest- who? Sorry, but that doesn’t ring a bell. Neither does Azalf, nothing that I’ve heard...” (You know what, I’ll roll History for him: 1, pfft), “Yeah, sorry... not one for much that ‘court stuff.’ I ain’t really a lawyer. As for the other stuff, that rings some bells. Though, you lot keep getting names wrong. His name’s Reynaldo Terff. But uh... as for the place...” Melvin weighs his options and sighs, “Listen... usually we move around a lot. However, these last couple of months, almost a year now, the shadows have been ignoring us. We haven’t had to be careful since even if we’re caught, we just slip out. We can hide in plain sight. So... from what I heard... the lads have set up their own guild. An adventuring guild, one could call it, over in the Guildmaster’s District. Really, it’s just a front, don’t know how they’ve got it running. They call it Everyman Solutions.“

Sunny is even more baffled than Melvin. He does his best to put on a confident front, however, nodding along when it seems appropriate (Performance 13).

He takes Alijurn aside (Ashe and Dahme'dre are more involved in the interrogation). "I'm no good at strategizing; you three seem like you have that part under wraps." He notices Ashe's surgical guaze and supresses a shudder. "I can watch your backs as your hired muscle, but I'll do better if I know who and what it is you're after."

Sunny doesn't understand.

"I understand."

Dahme'dre nods grateful for his straightforward responces (Insight: (2)8) "So, I'm sure you understand we can't just send you home to rethink your life." She says pondering. "What shoyld we do with our quest?" She asks the others. Maybe we can get a hand from our friend Millie. "Is there a shop here called 'Millie's Magnificents' or anything like that?" She asks Melvin.

Let’s see what the lad knows: 13

Melvin, still very concerned mind you, frantically thinks for a moment, “I wanna say that it’s likely in the Upper Tradewalk. I think it’s one o’ them fancy magic shops. Real top shelf stuff. Naturally, I ain’t one to loiter around it.”
