It is worth noting, as you two examine the suspects. You do see a slithering shadow make its way inside. It rises slowly off the floor, appearing as a blank half-slouched humanoid, it’s arms and legs still connected to the shadow on the floor. It seems to regard you.

Yeaggh (I mean)

Dahme'dre is composed.

The badger begins to deny her request (the shadows should be here soon, after all). Then-

Seeing the shadow, he raises his hands in the air away from his glaive. "I am Sunstripe Honeyclaw- chimera," He says matter-of-factly. "I am a registered temporary resident with a one year work visa. I am employed by the owner of this establishment as a bouncer. You will find my documentation in an envelope behind the bar."

He then lowers his hands and briefly walks through the events of the past twenty minutes, leaving Dahme'dre's activity out entirely. His life is his path- whether the mage endangers herself here is entirely up to her. "Their leader there indicated that his group poses a threat to Kirkgrim. Two of their number escaped down the street less than ten minutes ago. We thank Kirkgrim for his protection." This last was delivered in a flat monotone. The words were expected by law, but only the words. 

The shadow tilts its head further. It looks in the direction of gang member, but it’s gaze turns past it. It seems to be scanning the room for what you’re talking about.

With a flash of insight (rolled on discord), Sunny realizes that the shadow is unable to sense either of the unconscious gangmembers. He addresses Dahme'dre, "Mistress mage, I believe the shadow has been blinded somehow to our new friends." He thinks for a moment, then gestures to just the nearest brawler. "I have heard of practitioners with the skill of seeing lines of magic... even dispelling them? If the shadow cannot detect him..." 

(We don't need to reveal both of them. If we leave the leader hidden, we might be able to get some information out of him)

Dahme'dre frowns, examining the ruffian again (Arcana: (2)13)

 "I'm afraid I need a bit more to go on to interrupt such a spell," She says, "but a mundane effect should do as well." She pulls a tablecloth from one of the recently righted tables and whips it out to fall over the fool's form, leaving a distinct lump where the body rests beneath. "I presume you can see that." She says to the shadow as she points to the lump.

You whip the tablecloth on top of it and the shadow looms over it. It stares intensely at him, yet turns its gaze, as if distracted by something. It seems to forget about him as it continues prowling around.

Dahme'dre sighs and casts Healing Word to revive the goon under the table cloth and sits on his chest insuring he feels effectively blind and helpless. She holds his tattooed arm free of the cloth. Still cuffed, but the point of her dagger pressed uncomfortably against his wrist. "It seems like cutting off his arm is an option." She says clearly so the fellow gets the point. (Persuasion: (4)15)

This would definitely be a case of Intimidation moreso than Persuasion. However, with a 25, that’s still more than enough to clear the bard

The man groggily comes to, “No Ma... I don’t wanna go to the ice cream parlor- What the,“ He comes to full consciousness, “What where am I!? What’re talking about! Cutting off my arm, bullocks to that.” He tugs, only to have his arm be pinned by the cuffs, “Oh no... oh no, no, no...” He’s struggling quite a bit.

(apologies in advance: this is gross. Here we go, evil character...)

Sunny shakes his head. The concealment comes from the tattoo? Obvious, really... Why didn't he think of cutting it off? "There's a chance he could break free or bleed out if we remove the limb..." He sets his glaive down across the tough's arm here... there... "More practical to remove only the skin first and see. Shall I begin?"

The ground rumbles as a sense of anxiety grows, along with the prospect Dahme'dre's bluff becoming reality "If there's another way, you may want to reveal it now." Dahme'dre suggests.

Sunny cocks his head. Why would she..? Oh. It was a ruse. Well, if she would rather not... The upstart looked about as magical as an old boot; the badger doubted very much that he could switch off the effects of the emblem on his skin, intimidated or not.

Looking up at the shadow he says, "It would appear that there is nothing you can help us with at the moment, shade. Thank you for your time."

 “Now, hold on, hold on!” The man tugs more, “Look, I don’t even know what you want from me here! I got gold in my pocket if you want it. Take it! It’s yours, just let my arm go!”

  "If the shadows can't see you, the shadows can't protect you from my friend here."

“I’m very much aware of that right now, love! Which is why I’m trying to bribe my way out of this situation! What do you want! Money? Info? Me?” You feel like you can practically  hear an eyebrow bob underneath that cloth, “Listen! Just let me go and I’m sure that we can work something out! Take the other guy’s cash too! I don’t even know him well!”

(Did the shadow leave?)

"I have not seen you here before today." Sunny says conversationally. He lightly scrapes the edge of the glaive against the man's tattoo, just enough to fill the silence with a quiet rasping sound. "I believe you and your friends have cost me my tenure at this tavern. I rather liked this job, and we have not yet balanced that scale." He rasps the glaive up and down... up and down... "It occurs to me that ending your employer's business is the best way to accomplish this. Tell me, who is your employer and where can I find them?"

The shadow is looming for a moment longer. Perhaps it is confused as to what is happening here. It sinks back into the floor and does a mad scramble all across the area of the bar, as if doing a total scan. It then slowly rights a few of the tables, puts mugs on a shelf, generally cleans what can be done, and then leaves out the front door, content with the fact that you are threatening the air. 

Meanwhile, the man groans a bit, “You’ve gotta be kidding me... Listen, buddy, I get that you’re peeved but I can’t just-“ the glaive brushes against him more, “You know, fair point, not really in a position to bargain. You got a pen and paper? Gonna write this down?”

He both does not know that and cannot see anything.

Dahme'dre's notepad flutters through the air and falls open onto a table with her spectral hand grasping a pen to its pages.  "Go on."
