I honestly don't remember giving myself that hunting trap... but it makes sense, I think if possible he would have it strapped to his backpack. He would situate himself so that he could drop the backpack and be completely free of movement. I removed his walking staff and torches (x10) since he doesn't need either. I'm okay with him never having had them, or with him deciding he doesn't need them and leaving them for someone else to grab.
I'm not sure it's wise to stay here, since the goblins that ran know exactly where we are. I say we take the stairs and see where it leads.
The hunting trap might have been part of a starting equipment kit.
With the torches, it's true you don't need them to see, but your darkvision only lets you see shades of grey, so if you want to view things in color you need light. (I'm not sure when that would matter, but it might.)
Pagan strides over to the base of the stairs. "Master Sooki teaches that he who wishes to fight must first count the cost." He glances around the room at the defeated enemies. "I doubt we will see any more Goblins for a while. Their coffers are empty now."
The party cautiously climbs the steps to the landing. Brumdal and Markas in the front rank, Amar and Zerys in the middle, and Pagan bringing up the rear as before.
At the landing the steps continue to the right and go up another 20 feet to another 10 foot-square landing. As you approach the top you see a wooden door bound with iron awaits you at the end of the landing.
Rules question- when I'm swinging a torch as a weapon shouldn't it do damage in addition to the 1 point of fire damage? Improvised weapons should usually do a minimum of d4.
Also i hope i don't wield torches as weapons very often. :)

Yes, you're correct. It should be 1d4 bludgeoning + Strength bonus + 1 fire
Sorry for the late reply - Brumdal will have recovered his javelins and will take his share of the burden. Thanks for updating our characters with experience!
At some point, we should remember to look around for ogre loot. A successful first encounter!
I'm imagining you are gently pushing on the door and gradually applying pressure (so as to not make a lot of noise and so forth). Doing that the door is stuck firmly in place and does not move. You would have to put some real force into the push to make it open--assuming its not barred shut on the other side.

Lets explore up the stairs.
Pagan strides over to the base of the stairs. "Master Sooki teaches that he who wishes to fight must first count the cost." He glances around the room at the defeated enemies. "I doubt we will see any more Goblins for a while. Their coffers are empty now."
Pagan flashes a smile. "Shall we proceed?"
Zerys and Amar agree to head up the stairs.
Zerys will closely examine the door for anything out of the ordinary. Especially if it's barred or locked on our side (keeping something in...)
"Be careful of traps."
Zerys's Wisdom (Perception) Ability Check: 9
Zerys discerns nothing unusual about that door.
(But with that roll, she is not very confident either.)
Markas will also examine the door. Does it swing towards or away from us?
The door would swing away from you.
Markas's Wisdom (Perception) Ability Check: 10
Elven keen senses are not a thing right now....

"They go up." Heh.
Markas will attempt to push open the door.
(I actually flipped a coin for this decision)

"Perhaps we should discuss our next course of action after a nice rest..." says Pagan. He sits down and crosses his legs.
