"****, we're wasting our TIME in here." Crispy groans, annoyed. "What are we DOING in here anyways? The longer we waste time the more powerful Aerik becomes."
OOC: I thought that we never ended up killing that uber spider (The Huntsman) in area 4...it just retreated back into it's hole and let Cora take the poison dagger?
Are there any close egg sacks that don't involve going into the room? If so Rosli will start kicking it between words while the conversation goes on "We... made... a... promise...to...help...out"
Merlin: that is indeed correct! But she doesn't seem to be showing any signs of making herself vulnerable right now. You know where her trap door is- you could go lookin'?
Dani- you find that the bodies of the Shogun have been wrapped up in web and sucked dry. Further investigation leads to you spotting an opening in the canopy above, where they entered, trying to ambush your party. Maybe you can find more leads up there?
Rosli kicks open a sack, sending thousands of tiny itsy bitsy spiders spilling out into the tar on the ground. It looks like most of them end up getting stuck, and the 'tar' reacts slightly, appearing to swallow them up...
Yasei roots around in her backpack and pull out 50 feet of hempen rope, and hands it over to Rosli. "Here - scale up there and attach this rope to something, so the rest of us can climb up there with you!"
[due to having a climb speed, you so not need to make a check if you're just taking your time, heading up the wall :) ]
You watch as Rosli graciously and carefully makes a calculated ascent up the interior dome of the canopy, eventually reaching the entry point on the canopy which Dani pointed out. She barely just has enough rope to anchor it off to a couple of strong looking vines for the group to climb.
Due to it being a straight vertical climb more than 30', I'll need an athletics, or acrobatics check (DC 5) or you'll fall and take 15 bludgeoning damage.
Once you reach the top, you see that this dome actually takes you to the canopies of the Spider Silk Woods. You can see the surrounding landscape in the midday sun.
The coast, and ocean to the West, the dry badlands to the East, coastal planes heading north and you can barely make out the Hunter's Guild to the south.
Around the enterance to the canopy, you find a black bag which seems empty. As you reach inside however, you find high tensile wire, carabiners, harnesses, pitons and hammers- two sets of climbing gear which gives anyone without a climb speed a climbing speed of 10’ while equipped. It also appears that this bag you’ve found holds all this equipment while not feeling like it has any weight to it other than the bag itself... (cough bag of holding cough)
Before you have a chance to investigate any further, your attention is demanded by a loud boom and a rumbling sound. This comes from far away to the NorthEast, but the soundwaves hit you strongly. You see a large mound of earth dislodge and begin rising into the sky. You see what may look like a tower on top of the large chunk of earth? But you cant be sure from this distance. It rises hugher and higher, a shower of loose earth cascades down around it and large boulders and smaller chunks of land hover weightlessly in a suspended state around the main landing. Magic is definitely behind this occurance.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Watatsumi flies around and lands on Yasei's shoulder perch, taking her usual lookout position with her tail curled around Yasei's neck, lovingly. Yasei attempts to climb up the rope (Athletics: 15).
It's not pretty, but she successfully makes it to the top of the tree canopy, giving Cora a fist bump when reaching the top (after seeing her amazing one-handed climb).
NOTE: Yasei would have climbed up last, so she could retrieve her rope on the way up.
Upon hearing the loud boom and feeling the shockwave slam into the party, Yasei's jaw dropped and all she could manage to squeak out was "oh my..."
Not seeing anything else much like this in the lands of Eothia, you figure magic MUST be at play here. It is the only thing in this world capable of such power. Your minds cast back to Ryu talking about a 'Riktor's Band of Power' which was located near a Wizard's tower to the north. It would seem that the next magical relic has reared it's head. Would you like to pursue it?
Our adventurers make their way north East to the floating fortress in the sky. What could have caused this catastrophic, immense display of power? Unfortunately, there is nobody around to inform you. Being a land of vast emptiness and savage wild lands, this occurrence is what you make of it. Those of you who have lived in the time of Eothia have seen nothing like this. The idea of magic is still strange to you, and an unfamiliar subject. To cora, this is a different experience. Magic is at play here, and powerful magic. From what you know of Aerik, and what he seeks- there is a high possibility that your paths will cross at this location.
The travel takes you a week. The moons of Eothia complete a full cycle of red, blu and yellow, with different hue mixes in between. As you approach closer to the mount of earth floating in the sky, you see various mounds of earth and boulders floating around in slow, unpredictable patterns. But it seems as though you could scale the mounds of earth and use them as platforms in order to reach the main area.
One night on a blue moon, about a day out from the edge of the floating staircase of rubble, you set up camp. It's been a quiet trip and fairly easy travel. You've managed to fight off a couple of mundane encounters of wild slimes and untamed beasts. So much so, that you're all now Level 5
It is a still night as you prepare yourselves for the next day. You talk strategy, theory and possibility before you notice a humanoid figure approaching slowly, unthreateningly. The silhouette of the individual is tall, lanky and hobbling along. A long, strand of white flickers in the breeze as it lofts horizontally off the humanoid's forehead. Glowing, blue eyes stare directly at the camp- but they rest on Rosli. Without a word, the figure approaches close enough that you can barely see it illuminated in a mix of red from your fire and blue from the moon. A frightening visage of a humanoid- maybe a man, maybe a woman, with flesh dropping off their face, their jaw and teeth exposed and tendons contracting and relaxing. It holds a long, thick blade with unnatural strength at Rosli. It's head cocks unnaturally to the side as it's jaw hyperextends and it breaths a long growl. It's headband is blank, numberless as though it made it itself. It has nowhere near the quality which Rosli wears. "Giiiiiive me that headbaaaaaaaaaand."
Rosli feels compelled to stand and face this challenger.
"****, we're wasting our TIME in here." Crispy groans, annoyed. "What are we DOING in here anyways? The longer we waste time the more powerful Aerik becomes."
"Perhaps we should more actively track our quarry." Danica said and started looking for signs.

Danica pointed at the opening. "Guys, up there. Maybe we can find out more."
The walls are scalable- Rosli has a climb speed, otherwise y'all gotta make checks without a rope to climb up.

Rosli will do it without question holding the rope in her mouth.
OOC: Not sure if you want a roll but I'll roll athletics and you can correct me if I'm wrong.

(LOL! What the ****..)
Crispy heard the boom and turned her head, saw the tower rising magically from the earth.
"Well, that's not good.." she growled.
Cora yeets herself up the rope with one hand.

Absolutely.
"Double time, you morons." Crispy said. "That floating turd tower can't be good and the closer we get to more relics the better we'll be off."
Danica's jaw dropped a little and she let out a soft "Oh. Yay." that sounded distinctly like what she meant was 'oh, shit.'
