" ... The Army granted me leave as my father and uncles and cousins have all perished on the widows hook since the lighthouse went dark, I am here to avenge them ..."
A minor clarification. The lighthouse going dark is not something that happened a while ago. It's happening right now.
@Character77006, If you want your character to have a family tragedy tied to the lighthouse going dark ... they die tonight and he will learn about it in the aftermath of this shipwreck scene.

Oh sorry I misunderstood you. I will go rewrite it. I think having a fishing boat accident is valid, I will just change things up a bit time line wise.
Perhaps the rock that wrecked the ship was what was left of the underground dungeon, and the ship hitting it broke a hole in the chamber Harknail has been stuck in all these millennia? So on top of the ship sinking, an unknown metal monster is trying to climb up from below...
I've played Harknail several times over the years, but in the very first adventure, back in D&D 4e, was a scenario much like this one which a ship wrecking on the rocks. The difference is that story included the dead animating as undead.
On a separate note, I think I should drop most of Harknail's starting equipment as little of it could have survived that long. I'm assuming that his squad had a everburning torch that's been providing him light, but that gets lost in the escape.
Hey gang ... a barbarian, a fighter, a paladin, and a ranger walk into a bar.
Four characters, all martial, have answered the call for our little one shot.
This will be the OOC thread for our tale.
I'll be able to review sheets this evening and get our first IC post up.
Yay!
Through all the multiverse, I am The Singulairity.
Looking forward to it 😊
Great.
I can't wait. 😊
Got called into work unexpectedly. I can get the IC started tomorrow. Thanks for your patience, gang.
No worries, we got time.
Through all the multiverse, I am The Singulairity.
No problem, we'll wait for you. Thanks for letting us know about the delay.
A wild IC appears!

Are we on the Twin Empires boat?
What's left of it, yes. Our story begins as you guys find yourselves shipwrecked.

Characters sheets have been reviewed.
@Dinsuke, As a human, Daisy marks Heroic Inspiration any time she completes a Long Rest. I have marked Heroic Inspiration on her sheet.
Thanks! :)
I did know that, but I never remember I need to mark it since DND Beyond doesn't register it at long rest.

No worries. We didn't really do a session zero to establish backstory hooks and stuff.
I revised my post.
Ok. This next part is up to you. After this shipwreck scene … Manny’s family … caught out in the storm with no lighthouse? Or safe at home?

Harknail will be joining us soon. His first, and now this next, introduction will be very similar.
If it makes sense for the character, you may drop any items you wish from Harknail's sheet.
Just let me know what you are removing so I can update my notes.
