“This is quite the lot they gathered. These slavers are expecting a big pay day if they bring us all in.” Luce speaks to the group but doesn’t make eye contact with any one. His small stature usually allows him to go unnoticed but this time he is also sitting beside a war forged which makes it harder for anyone to notice who’s speaking.
"Lets hope its a pay day, and not some ocult sacrife" He leans forward to Luce to whisper the following "are you or anyone capable of fighting in your current state?" After asking Luce He will lean to the person on his other side and ask the same question
“I’m your huckleberry”. Thorn looks around for something that would cause a distraction if were set alight (Perception7). He also glances towards the woods to see if he can spot the mysterious figure (Perception17), and will cast Hunter’s Mark if he does. Then, on the grounds that you should never build a cage you can’t escape from (and isn’t oak an odd choice for a slave cart), he searches for trap (door)s (Investigation21). Finally, because he has nothing to do for 10 minutes, he casts Detect Magic as a ritual.
Thorn doesn't see the figure, but he does see an almost invisible handle on the floor of the cage. He only detects any magic items the others brought, but nothing from the slavers you can reach with the spell.

"Quite the lot indeed," the warforged whispers to Luce, "Perhaps enough of a lot to fight back against our captors?"
Aegis rolls his shoulders back and loosens the constructed muscles in his neck. He would feel much more comfortable fighting if he had his rapier and shield. Or at the very least, his longbow. But his fists would have to do. He shifts his body so that he can look out of the cage where Zelion noticed the figure in the woods earlier.
"The elf mentioned seeing something out there," he continues to whisper to Luce, "Might we have rescuers? I know no one who would be looking for me; do you have someone who would come for you?"

“I have no need for weapons to fight if it comes to that and I may have a couple tricks up the sleeves of my robe.” Luce quietly replies, patiently waiting.
"I can fight, but without my components I won't be able to cast my strongest spells".
Zellion touches the cured leather, braided thong tied to his left arm and casts mage armor before moving to the front of the caged wagon as close as possible to the horse/horses pulling it.
If something kicks off (i.e an external party or the other prisoners do something against the guards or try and escape) Zellion will use prestidigitation to make a shower of sparks shoot up from the ground in front of the horses to try and spook them and stop them moving forward.
Thorn surreptitiously points to the 'almost invisible handle on the floor of the cage’ and indicates that they should try the handle to make their escape (Stealth15).
Craignar stretches his legs out as he lies there and crosses his feet. He pulls the bandanna that's around his neck up over his head to cover his eyes ( though he pulls it up high enough he can watch under it a bit) and finishes with his hands behind his head. "Ah you all worry to much, if the lads here are gonna carry us about, dispite their poor pace and lack of enthusiasm, why not let them, aye. Beats walkin' and for all I know, we might have paid for the trouble." It had really been too long since Craignar went bare knuckles on an opponent, as soon as he saw an opportunity, he would change that. From underneath the bandanna, he would try and study the cage, for locks or potential weak points.
With an exit strategy in place, Thorn assesses the slavers. Specifically, how many are there, how many are on horse back or riding on a wagon, how many are on their cage wagon, how many horses are there, and which one has the most elaborate facial hair (Perception6). He also tries to figure out which one is the leader and how much facial hair they have (Insight22) [natural 20].
As plans begin to develop Luce starts feeling nervous. He knows he can fight but has always preferred to avoid those types of situations which could get him killed. He decides it’s best to prepare himself for what may come, and discreetly snaps his fingers casting blade ward on himself.
This continues precisely every minute that passes, as Luce almost ritualistically/meditatively uses the defense mechanism to also focus his mind and body.

You identify the leader as the one driving the caged carrige. He is out of reach by normal means, he has a small beard.

*Are we bound in any way or just trapped in the cage?*
