"A strange encounter outside a tavern in Waterdeep leads your party into a soul-wrenching mystery. Piece together the clues, face mysterious enemies, and make sense of strange events to unravel a puzzle millennia old in a desperate struggle to save the souls of all living mortals."
We are looking for 4 players interested in an active and engaging play by post game, starting at level 8 and moving to level 12. 2024 Rule set and will be hosted on Discord. This is one of the first of hopefully many games to be offered as part of a growing discord community dedicated to pbp the format, looking to grow members. This game will be hosted primarily on BST-EST time zone. If you're interested, please help us out by answering a few questions!
What is your experience level with D&D in general and what is your experience level specifically with the Play-by-Post format?
What sort of content are you looking for in a Play-by-Post game? (examples: Extensive roleplay, combat encounters, puzzles, exploration, or political intrigue)
Do you tend to favor a more light hearted tone to your PbP adventures or a darker and more serious one?
What sort of character classes do you favor? Do you have a specifical class you'd like to play in this adventure?
When creating a character, do you expect that the backstory you provide to be woven into the narrative in some way? Or is it just to flavor your character?
Let's talk lines and veils. Is there no-go topics or items that you do not wish to see while playing this adventure?
What is your availability like for a PbP adventure. How frequently are you able to post? (examples: couple times a week, daily, multiple times a day?)
When you post, do you prefer long and descriptive posts or would you rather be short and to the point?
If you are going to be absent for an extended period of time (life happens, we all know and accept that), how would you prefer your character to be handled during that time?
Are you interested in participating in above table chatter or are you only interested in in-game roleplay?
How familiar are you with discord bots often used to assist in games? (Avrae, Tupperbox, etc)
What are your feelings on the use of ai imaging to illustrate characters or interactions?
Are you interested in joining a new server dedicated to active pbp games? Whether you are selected for this particular adventure or not?

This is a big gamebreaker for me. I am on this PBP forum because my PC & phone cannot handle something/anything on discord. Took 5 weeks of failure to find that out.
Either you will be discord or you will be on this forum, please pick one before us players start the process.
What is your experience level with D&D in general and what is your experience level specifically with the Play-by-Post format?
I am very experienced with D&D, I started playing with 3.5 and have been playing 5E since it started as both a player and DM. I've been doing PBP for over a decade and am similarly experienced.
What sort of content are you looking for in a Play-by-Post game? (examples: Extensive roleplay, combat encounters, puzzles, exploration, or political intrigue)
I like adventures where PC choices matter and there's lots of chances to roleplay, roleplaying is my favorite part of a campaign. I enjoy the ability to build up a power base whether it's physical or political as long as it makes an impact on the campaign world. Political intrigue can be fun along with corruption plotlines, moral choices, etc.
Do you tend to favor a more light hearted tone to your PbP adventures or a darker and more serious one?
Darker and serious but with opportunities for lighter moments.
What sort of character classes do you favor? Do you have a specific class you'd like to play in this adventure?
My favorite classes are Warlock, Rogue, Cleric, Paladin, Wizard, Monk, and Fighter. For this adventure I'm thinking probably a Warlock but I'm flexible.
When creating a character, do you expect that the backstory you provide to be woven into the narrative in some way? Or is it just to flavor your character?
I love it when the DM weaves my backstory into the campaign but it's not a dealbreaker if that doesn't happen.
Let's talk lines and veils. Is there no-go topics or items that you do not wish to see while playing this adventure?
My veils would be **** and lines would be that against children.
What is your availability like for a PbP adventure. How frequently are you able to post? (examples: couple times a week, daily, multiple times a day?)
I can post at least once a day, usually in the evenings EST but can often do more than that.
When you post, do you prefer long and descriptive posts or would you rather be short and to the point?
It depends. For shorter scenes I write shorter posts but I often write longer and more descriptive ones when the roleplaying is the focus.
If you are going to be absent for an extended period of time (life happens, we all know and accept that), how would you prefer your character to be handled during that time?
If I were going to be absent I would let the group know as soon as I found out and I would prefer my character just be absent and reappear when I come back.
Are you interested in participating in above table chatter or are you only interested in in-game roleplay?
I enjoy chatting outside of the game.
How familiar are you with discord bots often used to assist in games? (Avrae, Tupperbox, etc)
I've used Avrae and Tupperbox extensively and am quite familiar with their use.
What are your feelings on the use of ai imaging to illustrate characters or interactions?
I am very much against the use of AI images, they give me a major uncanny valley effect and make me uncomfortable.
Are you interested in joining a new server dedicated to active pbp games? Whether you are selected for this particular adventure or not?
I would be interested in joining for the opportunity of playing in campaigns.
What is your experience level with D&D in general and what is your experience level specifically with the Play-by-Post format?
I've been playing for a few years and a good chunk of it pbp. I've played through many pbp games
What sort of content are you looking for in a Play-by-Post game? (examples: Extensive roleplay, combat encounters, puzzles, exploration, or political intrigue)
I love RP number 1, that's key for an excellent game. I also love good combat, exploration and a challenging puzzle
Do you tend to favor a more light hearted tone to your PbP adventures or a darker and more serious one?
Honestly I love both, I've played Strahd for a while and I loved the tone of that game, though I also love the other game environments equally
What sort of character classes do you favor? Do you have a specifical class you'd like to play in this adventure?
Ok, I would love to join this with a Wizard. If that isn't an option I'm totally open to these classes in this order of preferance. Rogue, Bard, Cleric, Paladin
When creating a character, do you expect that the backstory you provide to be woven into the narrative in some way? Or is it just to flavor your character?
No, I certainly don't expect it. Having backstory go along with the narrative can be fun, though having a well flavored character is what's important
Let's talk lines and veils. Is there no-go topics or items that you do not wish to see while playing this adventure?
No, I'm pretty cool with anything
What is your availability like for a PbP adventure. How frequently are you able to post? (examples: couple times a week, daily, multiple times a day?)
The timezone works well for me and I can post almost hourly if needed or at any slower pace, depends on the party
When you post, do you prefer long and descriptive posts or would you rather be short and to the point?
It depends on the time, If I'm responding to a big game post like one moving the adventure I'll do a good amount of RP, I'll do a bit smaller posts for RP chat or actions
If you are going to be absent for an extended period of time (life happens, we all know and accept that), how would you prefer your character to be handled during that time?
If I'm gone for a day or two a default attack would be fine. If I'm gone for a week then your welcome to take control of the character during that time or still do default actions, whatever you prefer. My character could also be absent doing research or something
Are you interested in participating in above table chatter or are you only interested in in-game roleplay?
Totally, I like to get to know people and chat
How familiar are you with discord bots often used to assist in games? (Avrae, Tupperbox, etc)
I'm very familiar with Avrae and Tupperbox, I know almost every command
What are your feelings on the use of ai imaging to illustrate characters or interactions?
I don't love AI images but at the same time that would be fine with me. It would get the appearance down
Are you interested in joining a new server dedicated to active pbp games? Whether you are selected for this particular adventure or not?
Absolutely, pbp games are tons of fun, I'd love the opportunity to see more pbp's
