Grassland amber hued with a few shrubs and trees holding on to the summer green though they too are beginning to be tinged with autumnal colors. The sun low on the horizon casting vermilion light blended with golden honey. Drifting by is a few clouds that seem like they too are heading to warmer climes.
Cutting its way through the grassland is the Uldoon trail of pack dirt with sharp edges. It connects the eastern nations of the Dragon Coast to the western nations of the Sword Coast. The town of Greenest is the only decent sized town on the trail making it the regional trade stop.
Before you is the town of Greenest a smattering of half-timbered homes with wood shingled pitched roofs laid out in an informal grid pattern culminating in a small keep of quarried stone with a winding stream to the south of it.
This idyllic scene is shattered by the cries of pain and suffering as the town is engulfed with raiders killing indiscriminately and taking whatever they want. With family homes set ablaze. In the distance you see the town militia put up a valiant fight as they try to evacuate the townsfolk into the keep. To the north a mill made of wooden slats is surrounded by well armored mercenaries. Near the keep is a temple of Chauntea the goddess of bountiful harvests. With strange, cloaked figures piling wood around the doors.
Leosin Erlanthar could be somewhere in this chaos.
Please describe your character and what they do next.
The figure that approaches is a dark one. His dark robe billows behind him as he rides into town on a black horse. The hands that hold the reins are cracked and mummified... clearly not hands of a living man.
He raises his head towards the chaos, and something stirs within him. Something strange. Powerful.
Fury.
Righteous fury against those who would dare to lay waste to the innocent. Who would set fires indiscriminately. Who would bring death before its time. Lord Akkron rides into the middle of the town in his full form, his skeletal face looking upon the scene with something between rage and disappointment. He knows there is no time to hide who or what he is... only time to call upon the forces of darkness to preserve the light of life.
Woe to you who would dare defile the innocence of this place,he announces, his voice booming across the town. Men of Greenest, rally and take heart! The dead come to aid you in your time of need!
He urges his black horse towards the temple, where the raiders are piling wood, preparing to engage in battle to protect the people of the town and their most holy place.
Akkron doesn't hesitate. He does not have time for kobolds.
He raises one mummified hand, his empty eyes fixed on the creatures blocking his path.
Akkron casts Circle of Death, centering the spell to catch as many of the kobolds as possible while avoiding the militia and townsfolk. The spell creates a 60-foot-radius sphere, so it should hopefully encompass the kobolds clustered between near and far range.
Each creature caught in the sphere must make a DC 21 Constitution saving throw, taking 36 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success.
It seems that you are rather durable vermin, he says, preparing for their inevitable onslaught. But you will fall to my power before you can do any more harm to this town.
Akkron uses his reaction on the first attack that hits to cast Shield, but several attacks still get through.
5 + 13 + 5 + 9 + 8 = 40 damage
As they've all rushed in closer, Akkron unleashes a Cone of Cold on them. The 60-ft cone should be able to hit all of them. They must make a DC 21 Con save or take 35 Cold damage. Half damage on a success.
The blast of winter itself envelopes the kobolds with a deep frost causing icicles to form on their bodies. The flying kobolds crash into the ground and shatter like broken glass save for 1 that lived just long enough for a flap or 2 of its leathery wings before dying. The kobolds on the ground seem to have frozen deathly still statues with also 1 stubborn kobold who raises its blade intent on stabbing Akkron only for it to collapse with its blade clattering onto the town road.
End of Combat.
Even those that passed had so very little life left in them.
Akkron spurs his horse on, approaching the figures. As he gets nearer, he calls out to them with fury. His voice echoes through his skull unnaturally, brimming with power.
Desecrate the temple and it will be the last thing either of you do!

As Akkron rounds the corner you see 5 strange, cloaked figures in front of the temple. With them are 2 large scaled lizards. The 2 that were loading the wood step back.
