Izek Leruc was born into a middle-class family. His parents were successful merchants and encouraged their son to make friends among the nobility and other members of the upper classes to help their business. He managed to climb his way up the social rankings through a combination of charm, flattery, and general politicking. He lived for the pleasures his increased social standing got him, indulging in the finest food, wine, and more illicit pleasures to be had.
Always on the lookout for ways to advance himself, Izek ended up discovering a book containing a ritual it promised would provide power. Performing it summoned a Devil who granted him the powers of a Warlock. He was thrilled with the power it granted him, but it wasn't enough. He didn't want to have to be a sycophant to keep the good times going. He'd been around the nobility long enough to know that the blood that ran in their veins didn't make them any better than him, all that separated him from them was money and noble parents. So he got involved in a plot to extort a number of nobles through knowledge of their crooked dealing, planning to use the money to buy a noble title or at least marry into an impoverished noble house. But his plan unraveled and he got caught and convicted, screaming at the crowd in the courtroom that he was better than all of them.
Practically allergic to an honest day's work, Laderic quickly learned to entice his fellow street urchins into wagering what little they had on a game of chance. Never afraid to "borrow" a friend's hard-earned coins for a wager, nor to use his nimble hands to tip the odds in his favor, he quickly earned the moniker "Lucky."
After a few beatings, Lucky honed his craft and learned to be a bit more discerning in his victories. He became an expert at letting his victims win just enough to think his games were fair, and when that failed, his charming words were usually enough to smooth any ruffled feathers. That is, until he couldn't resist swindling a captain of the guard out of a substantial sum of gold. Even though the captain never could explain how Lucky had cheated, he nevertheless had enough authority to land Lucky a date with the executioner's block. This fazed him little, certain that he could either talk or trick his way out of jail as he'd done before.

"Lucky" Laderic, Human Rogue.

I think I’m going to have to pull out, real life has gotten a bit more complicated and I am literally in like 7 other PbPs at the moment.
