Backstory: Well, to the kraken with him, was about the only sentence from Mome's mouth that could be printed in any respectable journal. Her displeasure was with the ship's captain, well, now, the captain of her former ship. Instead of burning and pillaging this town or at least taking advantage of whatever fun and goods could be found here, the captain, newly installed due to the unexpected death of his predecessor and her lover, was setting her and a few others to shore before peacefully returning to sea. To become a common merchant! The only balm to the burn of shame she felt that her former ship, one that had been feared for its endurance and violence, was going to be hauling common goods was that at least she would not be part of that new embarrassing work.
Mome finished cursing and resolved to strike a new path just as a new one was being laid out before her! Maybe it was okay that they didn't attack this city. She had of course heard of Lord Harkowitz but had never attacked the settlement since it was sufficiently inland. And she had heard stories about of the riches and the dangers of Hawk’s Ridge mountain range but dismissed them as drunken pirate's tales. So, she unbuttoned another button from her already scantily buttoned blouse and started on her next conquest, that of getting on this land-based adventure to get her mind off of her too-recent past. She was prepared to show her beauty, which was frequently sufficient enough to get her what she wanted, but also prepared to show her other talents, which had healed her fellow pirates and killed others.
@FrekorSummers, I don't currently have a master tier subscription but I'm not opposed to signing up. Most of my stuff is 2014 based, however, like: Tasha's, Xanathar's, Theros, the Tortle Package, the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide and Volo's. If you find anything from those, you're welcome to use it as long as you're ok with potentially being slightly underpowered to individuals utilizing the 2024 stuff.
So far, only two slots have been confirmed. I'm currently in the process of reaching out to a few others and will be working with the ones who have been invited to build up their plot connections to the story in some more detail.
Overall anyone still interested should absolutely keep applying or working on their characters!
Ideally, I'd like to find a strong healer or damage dealer. I feel like we've got a solid tank and a stealth fighter, so I would advise leaning towards maybe a dedicated caster? A compelling story will always take center stage though 100%.
Revamping my PC to fill a more Healer centric role =)
Name: Kimryn
Class: Ranger/Cleric
Species: Elf
Backstory: Before she ever set foot on a galleon, Kimryn learned the art of healing in the damp, crowded slums of a coastal town. Lacking the coin for rare herbs or the favor of high temples, she became an expert in battlefield triage and hedge-wizardry, using whatever was at hand—crushed beetle shells to stop bleeding, moonshine to sterilize deep gashes, and a needle made of bone to stitch together shattered sailors. Her sharp wit and steady hands earned her a reputation among the docks, but it was her fiercely stubborn refusal to lose a soul to the Goddess of Death that truly defined her. When a sudden plague swept through the harbor district, Kimryn spent four sleepless nights brewing remedies and amputating gangrenous limbs by the guttering light of a single tallow candle, saving dozens and cementing her status as a local legend.
Desperate to escape the claustrophobic town and seeking the freedom of the open ocean, she traded the slums for a berth on a privateer vessel, bringing her grit and unorthodox methods to the high seas. As the ship’s surgeon, Kimryn is a comforting, if slightly blunt, presence in the dim belly of the hold, equally adept at extracting crossbow bolts and treating scurvy as she is at listening to a homesick crewmate's grumblings. She views the ship's crew as her personal flock, defending their well-being with a fierce, maternal loyalty that terrifies enemies and crewmates alike. Though she now has access to fine silver scalpels and jars of elven poultice, she still keeps her original, chipped bone needle tucked into her bodice—a constant reminder that a healer's most valuable asset isn't the wealth of their kit, but the resolve to keep someone breathing.
Alright! It sounds like we've got our four for this campaign ready to roll. I appreciate everyone's interest and recruitment for the start of this campaign is now closed.

It's OK, there is a good chance that somebody you add to the campaign will have a good amount of material if you share content.

I can deal some serious damage, and basically have advantage on all attacks against already damaged enemies.
