Aurelia introduces herself properly to the monk and the gnome, though she gives Leif a thoroughly skeptical, flat look when he mentions the 'Long Shore Resort.' "My name is Aurelia." she tells Kiefe, adjusting her lenses. "And yes, I paid that charlatan a considerable sum under the impression I was auditing an ancient vault. As for a 'white sand resort'..." She looks over at Leif. "Master Leif, I highly suggest you appraise our current reality. We are in the dense coordinates of a wilderness, not a vacation. The only thing 'Long Shore' about this place is the distance we will have to walk to find a proper road."
When Wazgob proudly thrusts *VERY IMPORTANT FINGS WOT HAPPENED* into her face, Aurelia blinks, momentarily stunned by the aggressive capitalization and the sheer enthusiasm of the orc. She handles the battered notebook with delicate, professional care—habitual appraiser instincts kicking in—before gently handing it back.
"Ah. Thank you, Master Wazgob." she says, offering a formal, if slightly bewildered, nod. "It is... remarkably concise. I was sharing my ledger to establish an official record of our financial and spatial displacement. However, your deduction regarding the fraudulent nature of our 'guide' is entirely sound. It seems we are both chroniclers of a grand cosmic joke."
While the others might have been intimidated by a seven-foot-tall serpent woman, Aurelia spends the entire march entirely unfazed, her academic mind whirring. Once they settle into the clearing, she approaches Helena with polite, respectful fascination.
"Forgive my forwardness, Helena." Aurelia says, her eyes keenly observing the way the fighter navigates the terrain. "I am an appraiser by trade and a scholar of the divine. In all my time in the archives, I have never personally encountered a person of your unique physiology. You mentioned a small village north of here—is that your birthplace? I would be deeply fascinated to learn more about your people's history and culture, if you are willing to share."
The first day of forced marching through the damp undergrowth has done little to improve Aurelia’s mood, though it has certainly catalyzed her scholarly curiosity. Aurelia meticulously clears a small patch of earth, brushing away damp leaves and twigs to ensure her remaining parchment and ink don't get ruined by the forest moisture. She crosses out one of her travel rations with a sharp, aggressive stroke of her quill, looking thoroughly displeased by the poor culinary quality of dried trail meat.
To help around camp, she volunteers to keep the fire stoked or tend to any minor scratches the party picked up from the briars, using her knowledge of medicine and herbalism to identify the local flora. Aurelia is happy to take First Watch or Last Watch. She tries to use the quiet hours of the night to write by the firelight, desperately trying to map their coordinates by the stars to figure out exactly how far the wizard threw them.

Wazgob nods to Lief, quietly agreeing to sharing first watch, before carefully clearing a spot near the fire, taking out his bedroll, and lowering himself onto it with a grunt. He places Da Finkin' Stick beside him, Da Finkin' Rock glowing softly with magical engergy hangs from his neck Squig hops from Wazgob's shoulder and rests in his lap. For once since arriving in this forest Wazgob is quiet. He opens his notebook and reviews his entries, scribbling in additions along the margins around his countless drawings of mushrooms.
He adds that Helena must be "PART BIRD" as well as snake due to her sleeping in the trees. He writes that Lief is a "USEFUL GIT" due to his ability to talk to birds. He writes of Aurelia: "SMART GIT. HAS FINKIN' BOOK TOO." Under Keife: "TALKS TO GIT IN SKY NAMED GARL?"
He closes the book gently, before looking up at the canopy of trees, some starlight breaking through. "OI LEIF." A pause. "YOU KNOW IF STARS SPLODE, LIKE DRAGONS?"
Helena climbs down from the tree, "To answer your questions, I am a lamia, not a Yuan-Ti, my tongue is forked, the village is my birthplace but I've not been there in years. I can't open my mouth like a regular snake, I do live here, there is a water source in the village. Anything else?" She crosses her arms.
Leif rolls out his blanket a big quilt with a sun in the center. Then he backtracks their path coming to the clearing and he uses his string and bell to set an alarm in case anyone comes following their tracks.
Once complete he stealthily circles the clearing using investigation to notice little details…
before returning to the fire he slips on his toad skin cloak as he gets near he subtly croaks.
Hey Squig check this out I’m a toad! This fatty tried to eat me!

Leif’s subtle croak draws Wazgob’s attention. Wazgob looks down from the stars. Then at Leif. Then at the toad-skin cloak. Then at Squig. Then back to Leif. A long pause. “DAT’S A TERRIBLE TOAD.” He nods firmly. “GOOD TRY THOUGH.”

“MUSHROOMS IS IMPORTANT.” Points at tree, “NEVER DRINK TREE BEFORE,” he says confused.
“SQUIG ATE DRAGON AND SAVED MY LIFE. HE BEST GIT, BUT WHY WOULD WE KISS?” Squig croaks. Wazgob nods. “SEE. WEIRD.”

“OWL PRESENT. VERY LOUD ABOUT IT.”
He glances back toward the trees.
Is Helena taking the second watch after she answers Leif’s questions?
“Wazgob what were you teleporting for before we ended up here?”
”Do orcs live in roving clans, or is that untrue. You seem better than the orc stories I’ve heard.”
“Do you like mushrooms, or pine needles tea? You don’t ever kiss Squig do you cause I heard toads make you hallucinate. Do you trust Helena?”
