Vigan
Watching the two riders he had heard approaching from a distance, Vigan readies a handaxe and moves swiftly between the trees as they pass, launching the weapon at the second horseman at the last possible moment.
Attack: 12 Damage: 4
Moved to the intersection of C/D/7/8 and attack #4 with a handaxe thrown from 20ft
*edit - Back to my usual high standard of combat roll. For the record got my wife to click 'post reply' for luck - won't be doing that again. :)

Ranged attacks from a hidden location won't be given advantage or a bonus of any sort; enemies fired upon from that location, however, will be required to make a perception check to determine whether they locate the attacking player
Carrow releases a second arrow; this time his target is the Zhent that lurks in the trees to the east (Longbow attack: 11 | 5 piercing damage if successful)
Vigan's axe whistles over the head of the second rider from the west, and Ladrian, aiming for the dismounted rider, comes up short with his shot.

Perception checks for all Zhentarim (to determine whether they recognize the location of enemy fire):
Zhent #5: no check granted because he fell from horse, was injured, and knocked prone
Zhent #4, DC 15 to detect Vigan's location: 13
Zhent #2, DC 15 to detect Carrow's location: 4
Xolken, DC 15 to detect Ladrian's or Carrow's location: 13; if successful then 1d4 to determine who was detected (Ladrian 1 or 2; Carrow 3 or 4): 2
Zhent #3, DC 12 to detect location of any enemy fire: 13; if successful then 1d4 to determine who was detected (Ladrian 1, Rixton 2, Andor 3, Vigan 4): 2
The dismounted Zhent (#5) slowly stands and, with panic on his face, moves toward the nearest source of cover (D8), not realizing that he's headed directly toward Vigan. Zhent #4, still moving at a full gallop, continue south, reaching grid square G18. Zhent #3 takes no action.
Xolken continues his loop around the trees and spurs his horse into the open (O22).
(Thus concludes round 2; all players make take their turns for round 3)

Rixton:
I shift my target again (#4). A rider has rounded out into the open is is charging my way. I adjust my position, trying not to tangle my feet in the roots of the tree, find my balance, and aim, leading the rider like the last one. I loose the arrow and step back against the tree while I draw my next one.

Andor
The sorcerer sees Rixton's arrow hit the rider and launches a bolt in the same direction, hoping to down the enemy before they have a chance to engage in melee.

The ranger kneels almost idly under the tree hidden from view, his original target has stayed put but the horsemen are still circling. Carrow carefully takes aim and fires again towards his target (no 2).

(Carrow's longbow attack: 23 | if successful, then 8 piercing damage)
Zhent rider #4 pays dearly for his decision to gallop southward along the base of the hill. Rixton and Ladrian sink arrows into the rider as he passes by. Then, as the Zhent is falling from the saddle, Andor's crossbow bolt pierces him through the back. The rider impacts the ground violently and lies motionless.
Zhent #5, severely wounded already, takes his final step and walks blindly into Vigan's second axe swing.
Despite seeking cover within a group of trees, Zhent #2 is struck by Carrow's shot.
Perception checks for all Zhentarim (to determine whether they recognize the location of enemy fire):
Zhent #2, DC 15 to detect Carrow's location: 3
Xolken, DC 15 to detect location of any enemy fire: 5; if successful then 1d4 to determine who was detected (Ladrian 1, Rixton 2, Andor 3, Carrow 4): 3
Zhent #3, DC 10 to detect location of any enemy fire: 2; if successful then 1d3 to determine who was detected (Ladrian 1, Rixton 2, Andor 3): 2
Zhent #3 remains frozen behind the tree on the hillside; Zhent #2 merely calls out, "Xolken, where are they?! I see nothing!"
Xolken offers no response to the Zhent. He merely reaches into his saddlebag, uncorks a small vial, drains its contents, and dismounts his horse with scimitar drawn.
(Round concluded. All players may take their actions, which will be followed by Xolken's and the remaining Zhentarim)

Rixton:
"What an utter fool," I mutter, then whisper to Ladrian and Andor, "Even odds he just quaffed a strength brew." I know there is no talking Xolken down now. He aims to murder us. Resigned, I move to the largest tree trunk (K16) to get a clearer shot at Xolken. I steady my feet, aim, and release the arrow and a breath simultaneously.
Rixton watches his arrow follow precisely the path he hoped it would follow. It strikes Xolken squarely in the chest but, inexplicably, has no effect on him. The arrow falls harmlessly to the ground.

The Zhent who has been struck twice by Carrow is finally able to determine who has been shooting at him. He steadies his crossbow and returns fire. (Light crossbow attack w/ range disadvantage: 10 | Piercing damage if successful: 7)

Vigan
"You called for me?" Vigan suddenly appears from behind one of the trees grouped in the centre of the clearing, slightly out of breath.
"I saw you hit him", he says to Rixton, "but he didn't even flinch. We need to come up with an alternative way to take him down."
Dashed 60ft to J14 to join the others.
Ladrian's arrow sticks soundly into the tree behind which his target is hiding. Andor's bolt does the same, just missing its intended target.
