As all of you are looting the assassins and keeping an eye on the gagged Lizardfolk, a tall strong female hobgoblin will approach the captive and give him a hard kick to the face with her thick leather boot. Her hair is a deep black color pulled into a tight pony tail that hangs down over her shoulder, standing out against the dull red tint of her skin. She is wearing a steel breastplate with the Black Oak tabard draped over top.
"I would like to thank all of your for your help this morning. My name is Sheriff Payne, would you like to come with me to the watch HQ? we can toss this filth in a jail cell and ask him some... questions..." A sinister grin will spread across her face as she motions to the Lizardfolk. I already called for Hank to come pick up your new horses. He will take them to his farm for now, and you can pick them up once we have finished our business and you have spoken with the Mayor.
OOC: Can I find a riding elephant at some point, pretty PLEASE! The draft horse should be given to a goliath then, it's only fair. If needed Sayre and Thimbol can doubt up but Lorarila should take the other riding horse since she's able to ride it but Mo and Navek can't. Thimbol is small and can ride with someone no trouble. The party can work out later another draft horse. Sorry, I've never played with goliaths as I've said but I watched a game with them and the DM wouldn't allow it. Weird! Learn something new every day! As for gear I gave an options I thought could work, sell it and put the coin into the inn right?
(After you speak with the mayor, you will walk past the main square where all the shops are located and it is early enough in the day that they should all be open if you want to have a quick shopping spree or whatever people want to do)
"We'll take him but I would prefer he be jailed while we interrogate him," Sayre says to Higgins looking at her comrades made in the surprise attack. "Agreed," she says which is more a statement than question. "Where's Payne now," she asks next.
OOC: Psst...did you miss this DM?

OOC: Psst...did you miss this DM?
The Mayor, before he walked away to check on the other villagers would have looked back to Sayre and replied "I will go fetch Payne in just a moment and have her escort you all to the jail where you can interrogate your prisoner. Then, looking to Mo he will say "you will be able to have whichever room in Leadbelly's you like. Just speak to me and I will explain the details of your arrangment in detail once you have concluded your work with the sheriff and our friend here. He will give an angry look and spit in the direction of the lizardfolk.
Sheriff Payne will lead you all to the City Watch HQ. It is a single story building built of stone and heavy timbers. Walking through the first floor it is oddly quiet. You will notice a few desks and empty lockers as she escorts you to a heavy iron door in the back of the room. Unlocking the door she will take you down into the basement where there are a few jail cells and a little bit of sunlight piercing through small slits in the top of the walls.
"Feel free to dump him into any of the open cells" Payne will snarl, eyes fixed on the Bloodscale.
Payne will look to Mo and give him a small smile "Do whatever you like.. These guys have been nothing but a pain in my ass since I took this job" She will then turn and look to the rest of the group. "Stab him, cut him up, I don't care... I assume you will get more information from him if he can speak though. I am going to head upstairs and continue WATCHING THE ENTIRE VILLAGE ALONE! unless of course you have any more questions of me....
Mo looks to the rest of the group, "Any of you got any of those like mind control magicy spells that some people do? Make him tell us his gang location?"
OOC: So am I just carrying the bodies at this point, or did the Mayor also made mention of having someone come by to take care of them. Sorry to bring up the point again, but for continuity sake I just wanted to be clear. Because just leaving them out to rot for awhile is just in bad taste when it comes to.

(you don't need to haul them around, Payne will take care of making sure it is cleaned up. I assumed that you laid them out in the road, looted them... and left them for disposal. They have only been dead for a few minutes, not rotting yet :D)
Well yeah, obviously. But after, I made mention of seeking out someone to clean it up. Navek wasn't gonna leave them without getting there account fully settled. But I'm glad that worked out.
"Not my cup of tea, cousin."He turns to Payne. "No need for that, Sheriff Payne. I'm sure there'll be plenty of time to try and rustle up at least one or two more fine folk to help ya a bit. 'Specially after these fine gentlemen were so kind enough to donate to the cause."He gives the lizardfolk a pointed look and a wide smile.
"Assuming the rest of ya don't mind? At least on a trial or, er, temporary basis. Because sooner or later, we're gonna have to go after them directly. And this gal here already has her work cut out deal'n with these sorta things alone." He includes along with Mo's question.

**did the guys have like uniforms? or matching robes? we should take all those too. might be useful. We could just leave this lizard to cool off for a while, and go get settled in our new digs**
(Their cloaks were all made of leather and dyed they same color. They were all wearing dark leather armor but they were each styled differently and didn't appear to match like the cloaks do.)
Payne will look to Navek and smile 'All the rest of the City watch are either dead or quit thinks to these bastards... I am all that is left" looking towards the lizardfolk again. "I am working to rebuilt the force. Once we are able to show the public that we are capable of standing up for ourselves, recruits should come pouring in." A small smile will form on her lips "I think you all have helped to do that today. Thank you. Once you have asked him your questions, please see the mayor next door. He will fill you in on how you will be helping me soon enough."
"Yes. Let's get on with the questioning." Thimbol spoke up to the others. The halfling currently leaning against a wall...That wall being the leg of Navek. "We should cut free the gag from this Blood Scales mouth." Making a motion with one of his unsheathed daggers. "Careful to not cut the lizard too bad or pry free any teeth while we do so." He'd start twisting the dagger in one hand, the tip pressing against a finger on the other. "Obviously no one here knows where the hideout is and if the lizard can tell us that then we can move on. Otherwise, this assassin is useless."
"Agreed," Sayre replies having heard the conversations after tying off her horse outside and securing the loot. "I think it's best we speak...elsewhere and then come back," she then adds motioning for the group to follow her outside out of earshot of the lizardfolk!
OOC: Wink-wink, nudge-nudge we gotta talk good cop bad cop y'all!! Also what the heck are we asking exactly and who's doing it?
