Holy shit, it's DnD in space! I'm applying for this.
My Profile Name: ZulkRS is good. Available: I can post multiple times a day.
Character Profile Name: Elyza Blackthorn Race: Variant Human Class: Rogue1/Cleric2 Background: Plague Doctor. Crew Position: Medic Backstory: Elyza always had a keen interest in the humanoid body. She spend a good portion of her life studying medicine, alchemy and anatomy to learn about diseases and cure them. She soon became her master's best student. When the Maiden Horizon needed crew members to explore the depths of space, Elyza readily applied because she would not miss the chance of a lifetime to study the foreign diseases that the cosmos had to offer.
Name: Aiza "Wander" Zyshkazka Race: Tiefling Class: Mystic/Nomad Background: Outlander Crew Position: Arcane Researcher Backstory: Aiza grew up in the wild, and was part of a group of tieflings that had congregated there, having been driven out of every other place. Even as a child, she loved to wander and explore, but also always managed to find her way back home. For this, she was granted the nickname of 'Wanderer', which later shortened to 'Wander'. She never exited the forest until she was much older, and was told by her elders that the outside world was a brutal and dangerous place, and she was better off staying here.
One day, however, as Wander was returning from a lovely day of exploration, she came upon a dreadful sight. Her village had been destroyed by a band of human paladins, who saw it as a 'gathering place for these evil wretches', and decided that it was their 'holy duty' to destroy the village. Wander left the village in a hurry, knowing that the paladins would destroy her as well if she stayed. For the first time, Wander left the forest.
Wander explored the outside world for the first time, and decided that her elders were wrong. The outside world, though it was filled with much evil, was filled with even more wonderful things, like the sea, and the leafless sky, andchocolate. Chocolate is great. She explored the world for a long time, from sea to sea, and all that time, she gathered information. She studied the beasts and plants and animals of nature, and she studied people and books and history. She was always on the move, coming to a place, gleaning all the knowledge she could from it in the short time she stayed, then leaving. As she traveled, she contemplated the information that she had gathered, and further picked it apart, growing her knowledge.
One day, she decided to go further. She tapped deep into herself, disturbing years and years of gathered knowledge. She dove deep into her mind, deeper, deeper, until something awoke within her mind. For a brief moment, she saw everything, knew everything, then it was gone. She craved to one day obtain all that knowledge and keep it forever, and realized that this world alone would not contain all the knowledge that she required. She must go further, and expand her mind past the limits of this world. When the call to explore Wildspace rang out, Wander was one of the first to answer.
Wander hopes to one day explore every corner of Wildspace, and eventually know all that there is to know.

Character Profile #2 Name: Sir Archibald Fisher Race: Human, Variant Class: Rouge/Arcane Trickster Background: Knight Crew Position: Quartermaster Backstory: Serving as a butler to one of the oldest lineage of nobles of Evadil after creating connections during his adventures when he was young, Archibald was granted knighthood as reward for his enduring service after reaching the ripe old age of 80 during the celebration of his retirement along with a piece of land and a modest house.
Retirement wasn't as good as he thought it would be. He had no hobbies and no living family, only his connection to the family he served. He decided to mentor their young housekeepers.
Seeing that the space seafaring became possible, he knew housekeepers have to adapt working on such extreme environment to keep up with the extravagant lifestyle of nobles for the future.
He decided to join The Maiden's Horizon along with his promising students to acquire real life experience.

Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards. DM - The Old Keep
@Pokepaladdy: This looks awesome, and I’ve always wanted to play a Spelljammer campaign, even as a kid. I think you are missing one important office role though, that of the “Security Officer”. I know the First Mate role is listed as keeping the crew in check, but I am proposing more of a tactical / battle role both on-board the ship and on whatever planetfall they make... the "muscle" of the ship. (Think Lt. Warf on Star Trek – TNG.) So, here is my proposal / application:
My Profile
Name: @Cowboy
Available: Daily, often twice a day (mornings and night)
Character Profile
Name: Marvinth “Stalker” Emartineko
Race: Goliath
Class: Blood Hunter
Background: Soldier
Crew Position: Captain or First Officer
Backstory: “Stalker” was always a great fighter, and he was built for fighting! He was conscripted into the army to defend the boarders from the wild world and occasional marauders. When he was sent to investigate strange disappearances in a remote village he encountered a Dire Wolf that was responsible. He methodically stalked the creature, and nearly died in the resulting fight with the creature. It was then that he realized there were more dangers in the world than simple beasts and became a Blood Hunter, gaining his nickname, Stalker, in the process. For ten years he has rid the realm of all manner of strange and terrifying creatures. It was his success in these encounters that brought him to the attention of the elders of Evadil. They sought him out to be an intergral part of the officer core on the Maiden Horizon. As they have no idea know what is out there, and who or what will be encountered, they have called on Stalker to be at the forefront of any “first contact” situations.
I'd love some new spice for the artificer, the whole concept of a magic gun is awesome but the current unrevised UA document is a little dull in my opinion...Anyway, here i go (:
My Profile Name: I guess just Vyriox is alright, or Vy. Available: Daily
Character Profile Name: Iatonari Thiannôn Race: Kalashtar Class: Blood Hunter - Order of the Profane Soul Background: Urban Bounty Hunter Crew Position: Pilot Backstory: Iato never knew his mother. The only thing she had passed onto him was his name, "Iato for him, and Nari for the other". Iatos childhood was a little weird, he grew up as some sort of a Hypersomniac, meaning he spent a lot of time sleeping because the world he lived in was nothing compared to the things he could see in his dreams. When Iato asked his father about the intense sceneries he saw every night, all he got was a concerned look. It took him a few years to learn that his mother had been one of the Mirrani that everyone was so obsessed with, and that there had, in fact, been more that she had left him. The being that he was connected with showed him things no other living creature had witnessed. It was both fascinating and terrifying to see what could be found beyond his own world, but knowing he could never reach there was just as depressing. Nevertheless, Iato had grasped that there were things worth protecting, and he also learned what they had to be protected from. He, thus, forged an even stronger bond with the creature linked to his fate and became a Blood Hunter, sworn to exterminate evil in what ever shape he might encounter, including humans.
Until the day that he accidentally ended up in one of those spelljamming ships. His profession, or maybe his fate, had lead him to pursue a particular cruel individual, but at one point, Iato suddenly found himself sitting in the vehicle, completely uninentional. In that moment, something clicked into position. Iato had always been dissatisfied with being stuck on the ground. Water was fascinating him, so was being in the air, and although he shouldve been stunned by fear and panic, he felt an excitement and expectational joy rush over him that didnt belong to his persona. It was weird, but by listening to these feelings, he took enough lucky guesses to not only take off - flying was the most amazing thing he had ever experienced. As he found out later, he'd been guided by the other being behind the curtain, and also, that he had apparently outmanouvered all the pilots that were guarding the base he snuck into. And while Iato was chained to a chair, awaiting his punishment, the cavallary stormed in and informed him about "Mission: Maiden's Horizon". A mission to go to space. The higher ups had noticed he had a little talent, they mentioned the crew was still lacking a pilot. And damn, was he ready.
Character Profile Name: Garosk Indrana Race: Loxodon Class: Life Cleric Background: Hermit Crew Position: Medic Backstory: Dr. Garosk Indrana comes from a long line of doctors and researchers. Ever since he was young, he wanted to board a Spelljammer and set sail for the unknown! However, he wouldn't dream of ever abandoning his heritage. So he pursued research in biology and medicine, working his way to being a ship's Medic in order to achieve his dreams. Now he travels abroad, chronicling new and strange biology wherever he goes...and tending to the sick and needy of course.

I was generally lumping the security purposes into the First Mate position (basically mixing it with a bosun role). The captain of the ship normally reads the battle when combat is happening. I was mainly sticking down six commanding officers as the PCs, as that's how many I'd prefer for this campaign.
I'd love some new spice for the artificer, the whole concept of a magic gun is awesome but the current unrevised UA document is a little dull in my opinion.
I thouroughly enjoyed playing a gnome hobo with a shotgun in a one-off. Though the rumour mill is saying that artificer may be getting a revised playtest sometime in the near future. Perhaps when it is available on D&D Beyond people can re-evaluate if they want to swap into that class if it is more appropriate.
My Profile Name: Wreck Available: multiple times a day normally
Character Profile Name: Drak Race: Bugbear Class: Brute Background: Soldier Crew Position: First Mate Backstory: Drak was originally the leader of a squad of Bugbear soldiers when they came across a strange ship under attack by the very enemy they had rallied together to fight. After the bloodshed was over, Only Drak remained out of the 50 troops he had brought with him. After seeing his combat ability and realizing that without him and his troops help that they would have been destroyed by the hostile attacking creatures, they invited him on-board to work as a security officer. After a while it was apparent that with his size and strength he was very good at intimidating and persuading crew members to be on their best behavior when he was around and was able to work his way up the ladder to the position of first mate by following orders and proving capable of keeping others in check.
Thank you to everyone for your entries. I will be looking over them today and sending invites out over the next few hours. I will confirm once I have my party.
Players have been selected for this campaign. If you were not chosen, I apologise. Unfortunately I don't think I could keep up with so many PCs in one campaign, and I enjoyed reading through all of them.
Depending on how this campaign goes, they might get a second ship made in the future, and I may redo the recruitment for a second ship.
